Shauna Grant
Career
Born Colleen Marie Applegate, Shauna Grant appeared in more than 30 films across a two-year career that made her one of the most recognisable performers of the period, earning three acting nominations at the 1984 Erotic Film Awards and, in her final month of work, a seat at the Adult Film Association Awards next to director Francis Ford Coppola. She died by suicide in 1984, at 20. Her life was the basis of the 1988 television film Shattered Innocence, and the XRCO Hall of Fame inducted her in 1999.
Signature: A two-year career, cut short, that nonetheless produced enough industry visibility to be adapted into a network television film and a posthumous Hall of Fame induction fifteen years later — a record built entirely on the strength of a very brief run.
