Barbara Dare

Career

Born 27 February 1963 and recorded by Wikidata as beginning in 1985, which makes her debut a debut at twenty-two. The dates matter more here than anywhere else on this page: her sweep of Best New Starlet at AVN and New Starlet at XRCO came in 1987, honouring 1986 work — the exact season in which the Traci Lords case had emptied distributors’ shelves and the industry was being told, in effect, to start keeping files. She went on to Best Actress at AVN in 1989 and held exclusivity contracts with Essex Video and later Vivid. Her last film was Bratgirl in 1992 and she retired in 1994.

Signature: The earliest verified case in this field, and the one whose timing carries the most weight: a clean sweep of both new-talent titles in the first award season written after the industry discovered it had no idea how old its performers were.

Her rank on each of the other 3 rankings below was computed against that ranking's own field and is not the same measurement.
