Pornstar Ranked

Who Is That Porn Star? A Real Guide, Plus the 13 Most Searched

Someone appears in a video or a photo, and the question is simple: who is that? This page treats it as the real task it is, with one line drawn before anything else.

Everything below is about identifying a working performer in published, consensual commercial work — a credited scene, a studio release, a verified public profile.

It is not about identifying a private individual from leaked, hacked or otherwise non-consensual imagery, and we will not help with that, regardless of how the request is phrased. That distinction is not a caveat at the bottom of the page.

It is the reason the page exists in this form rather than as a list of tools.

The short answer

No single tool reliably names a pornstar from one photo or clip. The realistic route combines a reverse image search, a performer database or studio credit page, and the performer’s own verified account. It works only for performers in published, consensual commercial work — never for identifying a private person from leaked or non-consensual material. Beyond the method, this page also lists the thirteen performers people most often actually need this method for: this site's highest-measured-search-demand names, ordered by demand, then award count, then career length.

The names people search this page for

Thirteen performers, chosen on one checkable rule

Ten of these thirteen are this site's own highest-measured-branded-search-demand performers with a photograph on file — a reasonable, checkable proxy for the exact situation this page addresses: a performer whose image and scenes circulate widely enough to be encountered without a credit attached is, by that same fact, one a stranger is likely to go looking for by name. They are presented unranked, ordered by measured demand, then award count, then documented career length.

The other three are Christy Canyon, Christy Marks and Christy Mack — the collision that comes up most often in our own research, and a useful demonstration of what a sourced record buys you over a guess. Three performers, three different eras, nothing in common beyond a shared first name and a similar surname: Christy Canyon debuted in 1984, Christy Marks worked with a single publisher between roughly 2007 and 2010, and Christy Mack performed from 2011 to 2014. They close out the list because none of the three carries measured search-demand data, and are ordered among themselves by documented career length.

None of the thirteen is ranked against the others here — that would misrepresent what this page is. Each has her own sourced profile below, and the point is what a specific, dated, source-linked record can tell you that a first-page search result usually cannot: which studio, which years, which awards, and, as often as not, which performer you actually mean.

All thirteen are documented, distinct adult-film performers, each with a fuller scored profile elsewhere on this site. Presenting them together here is about identification, not comparing their careers.

Why Angela is included

White generates the largest branded search volume of any performer in this site's data, which is exactly the profile of a name a stranger encounters constantly, without a credit attached, and then goes looking for — the practical situation this page is written for.

A search for her name alone also collides with unrelated, widely circulated breast-implant coverage that actually concerns Blac Chyna (legal name Angela Renée White), a mix-up this page's definition section addresses directly. Her full scored profile is ranked on our Australian pornstars page and several others.

The case against: High search volume measures how often people look her up, not how often they specifically fail to recognise her — a scene credit or a studio release page will usually settle her identity faster than a reverse image search would.
Career and credits

Career

White began performing in Australia in 2003 while still at school and went on to take a first-class honours degree in Gender Studies from the University of Melbourne in 2010. She built one of the most decorated award records in industry history, becoming the first performer to win AVN Female Performer of the Year three consecutive times, and founded her own production company, AGW Entertainment. She has published academic writing on pornography performance and stood as an Australian Sex Party candidate in the 2010 Victorian state election.

Signature: Three straight Performer of the Year wins is the most concentrated run of top recognition in AVN history, and she is one of very few performers with a peer-reviewed publication record.

Why Dani is included

Daniels carries the second-largest branded search volume in this site's data, making her one of the names most likely to turn up in an identification search without context attached. Her award record and full career detail are scored on our lesbian pornstars page and our TikTok pornstars page, which this page does not repeat.

The case against: A high-demand name is also a well-documented one — she has an active mainstream social presence, which usually makes a correct identification faster than for a performer with a thinner public footprint.
Career and credits

Career

Dani Daniels won XBIZ Female Performer of the Year in 2016, a mainstream top title, the year after taking Best All-Girl Group Sex Scene for Anikka 2 alongside Anikka Albrite and Karlie Montana — a win independently confirmed against the 32nd AVN Awards’ own page. Her English Wikipedia biography was removed at some point after Wikidata recorded it; she is documented here through Wikidata instead.

Why Sunny is included

Leone's crossover into mainstream Bollywood film and business means people encounter her name and image in contexts entirely outside adult film, which is precisely the identification problem this page addresses: a viewer sees a public figure in one setting and does not immediately connect her to another. Her full career is ranked on our Indian pornstars page and our Desi pornstars page.

The case against: Her mainstream profile is also unusually well documented compared to most performers on this page, so a name search — rather than an image search — resolves her identity quickly once attempted.
Career and credits

Career

Born Karenjit Kaur Vohra to Indian Sikh parents in Sarnia, Ontario, she was named Penthouse Pet of the Month in March 2001 and Pet of the Year in 2003. She signed as a Vivid Entertainment contract performer and founded her own production company, Sunlust Pictures, in 2009. A stint on the Indian reality series Bigg Boss in 2011 led to a Bollywood debut in Pooja Bhatt’s Jism 2 (2012), after which she moved permanently into Hindi cinema. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2018.

Signature: She is the only performer to have converted an adult-film career into a sustained mainstream career inside India itself, a crossing no other performer on either side of this list has made. Her ZEE5 biographical series made that crossing the subject rather than something to be concealed.

Why Sophie is included

Dee's branded search volume places her among this site's highest-demand names, the same profile as every other performer added to this page this edition. Her full award record and career detail are scored on our British pornstars page and elsewhere.

The case against: A long, well-documented career of the kind Dee has built usually means more credited scenes and profile pages exist to check a guess against, which makes identification more reliable for her than for a performer with a shorter public record.
Career and credits

Career

Born Kirsty Hill in Llanelli, Sophie Dee is a native Welsh speaker who built a fifteen-year career from 2005 to 2020 before stepping back from performing. She went on to run her own production company, Sophie Dee Ventures, and built one of the largest social-media followings of any performer in this category. Her AVN Hall of Fame induction came in 2025, five years after she stopped performing regularly — recognition of a completed body of work rather than a current one. That induction is independently confirmed on Wikipedia’s own list of AVN Hall of Fame members, in the Video Branch, under 2025.

Why Jenna is included

Haze's branded search volume and a uniquely comprehensive award sweep make her one of the names this page expects a reader to be trying to place. Her full award record is ranked on our best pussy pornstars page and our blowjob pornstars page.

The case against: Her award record is unusually well documented across three separate bodies, which gives an identification attempt more cross-checkable sources than most names on this page have.
Career and credits

Career

Haze entered the industry in July 2001 at nineteen, working exclusively with women for three years under contract to Jill Kelly Productions out of loyalty to a boyfriend who worked as an industry cameraman. She returned to mixed-gender scenes in 2006 with Jenna Haze Darkside, produced by her new partner Jules Jordan, and spent the rest of the decade collecting scene-specific wins before 2009, when she became the only performer ever to hold Female Performer of the Year at AVN, XBIZ and XRCO simultaneously. She launched her own label, Jennaration X Studios, that same year and retired from performing in February 2012.

Signature: The only performer on this list — and one of only two in AVN’s history, after a performer credited only as Missy — to win Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year over the course of a career, and 2009 remains the sole year any performer has swept Female Performer of the Year at AVN, XBIZ and XRCO at once.

The case against: An active, ongoing award run also means fresh press coverage exists year to year, which usually makes a name search resolve her identity faster than an image-based one would.
Career and credits

Career

Savannah Bond worked in retail and trained in beauty therapy before stripping in Melbourne and Sydney and moving into film work in 2019. Her award record has run every year since 2021 across AVN, XBIZ, Fleshbot, Urban X, Adult Empire and Pornhub, making her the most consistently recognised Australian performer currently working.

Why Lana is included

Rhoades built an outsized public profile from a comparatively brief filming career, which is exactly the kind of mismatch that produces identification searches — a viewer encounters her image far more often than a new scene credit exists to explain it. Her full record is ranked on our anal pornstars page and our Instagram pornstars page.

The case against: Her large mainstream social-media following actually makes a correct identification easier than her short filming career alone would suggest, since a verified account is usually reachable directly.
Career and credits

Career

Rhoades was raised by a single mother in suburban Chicago and began performing in 2016 at nineteen. She stopped filming in late 2017 — an active career of roughly eighteen months — but kept winning audience awards for years afterwards, taking Pornhub’s Most Popular Female Performer in both 2019 and 2020 on the strength of a back catalogue she was no longer adding to. Since leaving she has run a subscription channel, a lingerie line with Yandy, a YouTube channel past a million subscribers and the podcast 3 Girls 1 Kitchen. Her 2021 promotion of a cryptocurrency and a 2022 NFT project, later abandoned, drew criticism.

Signature: The shortest filming career on this list and the largest post-career audience — the clearest case that in this category demand and output stopped being the same thing.

Why Abella is included

A single-platform, worldwide most-viewed title is a strong, dated indicator of exactly the kind of broad, uncredited exposure that generates "who is that" searches. Her full award record and career detail are scored on our hottest pornstars page and our Instagram pornstars page.

The case against: A platform's own most-viewed title, like a live model ranking, describes a moment in time rather than a permanent identifying feature — the title itself will not help identify her in footage from outside that specific year.
Career and credits

Career

Danger debuted for Bang Bros in July 2014 and won AVN Best New Starlet in 2016. Fortune magazine named her one of the industry’s twelve most popular performers in 2018, and by 2023 she was Pornhub’s single most-viewed performer worldwide, with 1.89 billion views that year, the same year the platform’s own awards named her Most Popular Female Performer. Since 2024 she has been studying at the University of Miami toward a law degree.

Signature: Fortune named her one of the industry’s most popular performers in 2018, and by 2023 she was the single most-viewed performer on Pornhub worldwide, with 1.89 billion views that year alone — the largest measured audience-demand figure of anyone on this list.

Why Riley is included

The case against: Her stage-name history is itself a documented topic on this site's pornstar real names page, which is a useful example of how identification and legal-name disclosure are related but different questions.
Career and credits

Career

Reid worked briefly as a stripper before entering the industry in 2010 at nineteen, initially under the stage name Paige Riley. She won XBIZ Best New Starlet in 2013 and XBIZ Female Performer of the Year the following year — the first performer to take both awards in consecutive years — then added the AVN Female Performer of the Year title in 2016. She joined OnlyFans in 2020 and has since built her own production and clothing businesses.

Why Mia is included

Khalifa is close to the archetypal case this page is written for: an extremely short filming career, an enormous and lasting public profile, and a specific viral moment that made her recognisable to people who have never otherwise sought out adult content.

Her full profile is ranked first on our Arab pornstars page, where her career and the backlash that followed are covered in detail.

The case against: Because her filming career is so short, there is very little additional footage to cross-check an identification against beyond the handful of scenes and the one viral clip most searches are already about.
Career and credits

Career

Khalifa was born in Beirut in February 1993 and raised Catholic in what she has described as a "very conservative" home. Her family left Lebanon in the aftermath of the South Lebanon conflict and moved to the United States in 2001, settling in Montgomery County, Maryland; she attended a French-language private school in Beirut before that, then Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia, and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a BA in history. She entered the adult industry in October 2014 after being approached about nude modelling, and took her stage name from her dog and the rapper Wiz Khalifa. A Bang Bros scene in which she wore a hijab made her the most-searched performer on Pornhub within weeks and drew heavy criticism; she has argued the scene was satirical. She received online death threats, including a digitally manipulated image of her being beheaded by the Islamic State, and her parents publicly disowned her. She signed a contract with Bang Bros’ parent company in January 2015, resigned two weeks later, and has said she performed for three months in total. She has since worked as a sports broadcaster, social-media personality and OnlyFans creator, and has campaigned about performers’ lack of control over their back catalogue.

Signature: She is the only performer in this category whose significance is a public argument rather than a filmography: about what an adult contract signs away, about who owns the footage afterwards, and about what happens to a woman from a Lebanese family when it circulates for a decade.

Why Christy is included

Canyon is the performer most likely to be the one you actually mean if the clip or credit you are looking at predates 2000: she debuted in 1984, was one of the top-billed stars of the mid-1980s, and built two further comeback periods through 1997 — the span that also places her among the oldest pornstars ranked here — before moving into radio hosting for Playboy Radio and SiriusXM.

Her XRCO and AVN Hall of Fame inductions and a documented run of over 100 films give her the deepest sourced record of the three, which is exactly why a careless aggregator list is more likely to borrow her filmography, her awards, or her photo and misattribute it to one of the other two under the shared surname.

The case against: Some specifics are thinner than the headline record suggests: her AVN Hall of Fame induction year is not documented anywhere we could verify, and her birthplace rests on secondary sourcing rather than a primary one. Neither gap affects which performer she is — only how precisely her record can be dated.
Career and credits

Career

Canyon debuted in 1984 and became one of the top-billed stars of the mid-1980s before the first of several retirements and comebacks that spanned three distinct performing periods through 1997. She later moved into broadcasting, hosting long-running sex-talk radio programmes for Playboy Radio and SiriusXM, and returned to content creation via a direct-to-fan platform in 2017.

Signature: Three separate comebacks, each one successful, in an industry where a single break usually ends a career for good.

Why Christy is included

Mack is a full performing generation removed from Canyon and a much more heavily awarded case than Marks, which makes an awards-season credit the fastest way to tell her apart from either.

She debuted in 2011, took two newcomer titles in the 2014 season alone — she is also on the tattooed pornstar ranking — and retired in 2015 — a specific, dated, three-year window that does not overlap with either of the other two Christys at all.

A credit that names a 2013–2014 award alongside this surname is not describing Canyon or Marks, whatever an unchecked list might imply by putting the three names near each other.

The case against: Basic biographical detail is still incomplete even on her own English Wikipedia entry: her birth year is given only as "1991 or 1992," and her exact place of birth and a documented credit count are not published anywhere we could verify. The awards timeline that distinguishes her from the other two Christys is solid; the rest of her biography is not fully filled in, and this page does not guess at what is missing.
Career and credits

Career

Born Christine Mackinday, and given by English Wikipedia as born in 1991 or 1992 with a working period of 2011 to 2014 — a gap that guarantees a debut at eighteen or over on the year arithmetic alone. In the 2014 season, aged twenty-one or twenty-two, she took XBIZ Best New Starlet and AVN’s fan-voted Most Promising New Starlet, having launched her own site the year before. She left performing in 2014 and confirmed retirement publicly in April 2015. In 2016 she launched a clothing line with Pornhub to raise money for survivors of domestic violence. She was the victim of a violent assault by a former partner in August 2014; he was convicted of sexual assault and kidnapping and sentenced to life imprisonment with parole eligibility after thirty-six years.

Signature: Two newcomer titles in a single season three years after a verified adult debut, and — unusually for a career this short — a substantial second act built around a cause rather than a brand.

Why Christy is included

Marks is the performer a search is least likely to actually be about, and the most likely to be misidentified as one of the other two once it happens.

She has no Wikipedia article in any language, no award record from any recognised body, and a documented career confined to a single specialist publisher — the record that places her on the big tits pornstar ranking and nowhere else — over about three years — a record so much shorter than Canyon or Mack that a result claiming her name alongside a Hall of Fame induction or a 2014 newcomer title has almost certainly picked up the wrong Christy. Wikidata is the only source behind her record at all.

The case against: Because the sourcing is this thin, her own record carries low confidence in our database, and even her birth year is inconsistently given across the sources that mention her at all (1987 in some, 1988 in others). She also has no portrait on file in this site's image store, which is why she closes out this page's list rather than sitting alongside the other two Christys. Identifying her correctly still leaves a genuinely sparse record to work with — this page cannot manufacture detail that was never documented.
Career and credits

Career

Born Chelsey Mallon, Marks performed between roughly 2007 and 2010, working principally with the Score Group, a publisher built around the big-bust niche specifically. Wikidata classifies her fields of work as hardcore and big bust pornography. No award is documented, and no English-language encyclopaedia article exists for her. She is a separate, distinct performer from the much better-documented Christy Canyon and Christy Mack, and should not be conflated with either.

Signature: A short, tightly documented run with a single specialist publisher — and a name that collides, in casual searches, with two considerably more famous performers who are not her.

What this page answers, and what it will not

Identifying a performer means matching a face, a body, a voice or a scene in front of you to a name attached to a real, sourceable professional record — an award, a studio credit, a biography, a profile the person maintains herself. That is a fundamentally different act from finding out who someone is in a photo or clip they never intended to be distributed, and this page only ever means the first one. The performers covered here chose a public professional identity; the routes described below only work because that choice was made.

Non-consensual intimate imagery — material distributed without the consent of the person in it, sometimes called revenge porn, and criminalised in some form in most jurisdictions that have looked at the question — is not covered by anything on this page. If the reason you are asking is that you have come across material you suspect was shared without the person’s consent, the honest answer is that this page will not help you name them, and no tool built for exactly that purpose is named here either. That is deliberate, and it holds regardless of how the request is framed.

What makes identification genuinely hard in this specific industry, once the boundary above is drawn, is largely a naming problem rather than a technology one: performers work under stage names that get reused across unrelated people, changed mid-career, and in some markets assigned outright by a studio or agency on signing a contract — the conventions are set out in full on our stage-name page rather than repeated here. Add to that the fact that no two of the databases described below fully agree with each other, and a confident-looking single answer is very often wrong.

The realistic goal, then, is not one tool that solves this instantly. It is a small set of routes, each with a known failure mode, used together and cross-checked against each other — which is exactly what the rest of this page sets out, followed by a real answer this search term rarely gets: a documented, sourced database of performers you can actually check a guess against.

TermWhat it meansHow it differs
Reverse image searchA search run on an image itself rather than on text, returning other places online that image — or a visually similar one — appears. Not facial recognition. It matches the picture, not the person; a different photo of the same performer will not necessarily surface at all.
Performer databaseA maintained, credited catalogue of adult performers and their filmography — Internet Adult Film Database (IAFD) and Wikidata are the two referenced on this page. Not a search engine. It answers "who is this name" and "what did they do," not "who is this photo."
Studio or scene creditThe producer’s own cast listing for a specific release — the closest thing to a primary source for identification. Not available for most re-uploaded, excerpted or aggregator-hosted clips, which routinely arrive stripped of any credit at all.
Name collisionTwo or more real, unrelated people sharing an identical or near-identical name, one of them frequently not even an adult performer. Not a rare edge case. Six documented examples appear below, from this programme’s own research.
Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)Sexual or intimate material distributed without the consent of the person shown, regardless of how it was originally obtained.Categorically outside what this page covers. It is a privacy and, in most jurisdictions, criminal matter concerning a private individual — not a performer-identification question at all.
Context

How identification has actually worked, 1970s–2026

1970s–1994

A credit, or nothing

For most of the industry’s history there was exactly one route to a name: whatever the film’s own credits or box art said, if it said anything at all. Uncredited, discontinued or informally distributed work left no path to a name whatsoever, and no database or search tool existed to fill the gap. Identification, when it happened, happened because someone already knew the answer and told you.

1995–2011

The first databases, before search caught up

The Internet Adult Film Database launched in 1995, built by Peter van Aarle from data he had been collecting on adult films since 1981, and it became the closest thing the industry had to a shared reference point — routinely cited by trade press including AVN and XBIZ ever since. What did not yet exist was any way to search by the image itself: Google’s reverse image search did not launch until 2011, so for the first fifteen years of the web, identification still meant looking a name up, not looking a picture up.

2012–2018

Structured data and real visual matching

Wikidata launched in October 2012, giving performers a structured, cross-referenceable record — sameAs links out to other databases and encyclopaedic entries — distinct from a prose biography that may or may not exist. Google Lens followed in October 2017, bringing genuine neural-network-based visual recognition to a mainstream tool for the first time, rather than the older keyword-and-context matching reverse image search had relied on.

2019–2026

Better tools, a thinner encyclopedia, and a harder collision problem

Two things happened at once and pulled in opposite directions. English Wikipedia deprecated WP:PORNBIO, its notability guideline for adult performers, in 2019, and a large number of existing performer biographies were deleted or redirected as a result — a gap that affects identification exactly as much as it affects ranking work elsewhere on this site. At the same time, content increasingly circulates disconnected from its original credit — re-encoded, mirrored, excerpted, screenshotted — which degrades exactly the visual-matching signal reverse image search depends on. A tool being better in 2026 than it was in 2011 does not mean identification got easier; the record it is searching against got thinner in places even as the search itself got sharper.

Editorial process

Six documented collisions — a name is not a unique key

Every case below surfaced directly in this programme’s own research, not as a hypothetical risk: each one had to be caught and corrected before a page could be published safely. Treat any single-name match as a lead to verify, never as an identification on its own.

The mix-up

CM
Christy Marks, Christy Canyon and Christy Mack

Three unrelated performers from three different eras — Marks from about 2007 to 2010, Canyon mainly across the 1980s and 1990s, Mack from 2011 to 2014 — routinely merged into a single entry by lists that never check each name individually. All three have their own disambiguated, sourced profile below.

TF
Tessa Fowler

A search under this exact name returns a sitting member of the Vanuatu parliament about as often as it returns the American glamour model. Two real people who happen to share a name, nothing else in common.

AF
Autumn Falls

The name also belongs to an unrelated novel series credited to Bella Thorne, which regularly ranks alongside or above results for the performer of the same name.

K
Kuyili

An eighteenth-century Tamil military commander shares this name with an unrelated adult performer. Conflating the two does not just misidentify a performer, it misattributes a documented historical figure.

"W
"Angela White" breast-implant coverage

Widely circulated implant-removal coverage under this name actually concerns Blac Chyna, whose legal name is Angela Renée White — not the unrelated Australian AVN Hall of Fame performer who works under the stage name Angela White.

"C
"Ms Cleo"

No adult performer by this name exists in any record we could find. It is the American television psychic Miss Cleo, and any list including her under this category has not checked at all.

Background

The routes that actually work, rated honestly

This is the material the search term has never had a proper page for: what each identification method actually does, where it breaks down, and where the boundary is drawn.

Reverse image search: what it actually finds

Google Images/Lens, TinEye and Yandex all do the same basic job differently. TinEye builds a fingerprint of the exact image and is strongest at finding where it first appeared and tracking crops or resizes of that same file; Google has the largest overall index but is more likely to miss a modified copy; Yandex is widely regarded as the strongest of the three specifically for face matching. All three degrade badly on a screenshot pulled from a re-encoded, mirrored or heavily compressed re-upload — exactly the state most identification requests start from — and a zero-result search means no match exists in that tool’s index, not that the image cannot be identified at all. Search the least-processed, closest-to-original image you have access to.

Performer databases: what each one actually covers

The Internet Adult Film Database (IAFD), running since 1995, is the closest thing the industry has to a standard credit catalogue, reviewed by its own editorial team and cited routinely by AVN and XBIZ trade press — but its coverage is heavily weighted toward US studio-produced work, and it is thinner on cam, amateur and non-English-language performers. Wikidata gives a structured, cross-referenceable record maintained collaboratively, which makes it useful for pulling several sources together at once, but it is community-edited exactly like Wikipedia and needs the same cross-checking before you rely on any single claim in it. English Wikipedia carries the deepest biographical detail when an article exists — but its 2019 policy change against adult-performer notability means a missing article is common and is not evidence that someone is undocumented elsewhere.

Studio and scene credits: the strongest single source, when you can trace it

A studio’s own release page or cast listing is closer to a primary source than any third-party database, because it is the producer’s own record of who is in the scene. The problem is coverage, not reliability: there is no unified catalogue across the hundreds of active studios and independent platforms, and a clip that has been reposted, excerpted or run through an aggregator arrives stripped of any credit at all — which is precisely the gap the databases above exist to fill, imperfectly.

The performer’s own verified account

When you can reach it, a performer’s official site or a platform profile she maintains herself is the most direct confirmation available. The catch is impersonation: accounts using a real performer’s name and photos without any connection to her are common enough that this whole site maintains a standing rule never to publish a handle that was not actually seen linked from an authoritative page. Apply the same discipline here — a plausible-looking account is not confirmation on its own; check that it is actually linked from a studio page or a database entry before treating it as one.

Community identification forums: fast, uneven, worth understanding the limits of

Crowd-sourced identification communities exist and can move quickly on widely circulated content, but they carry no verification standard: confidently wrong answers are common, multiple different names sometimes get offered for the same post, and the format has also been used in attempts to identify private individuals in non-consensual material — exactly the use this page does not support. Treat any forum answer as a lead to verify against a database or a credit, never as the identification itself, and this page does not link to any specific one.

Facial-recognition search engines: deliberately not covered here

A separate category of service lets a user search any face across the open web by photo, rather than searching where one specific image has appeared. These are marketed and used for exactly the kind of non-consensual identification this page exists to refuse, and none is named, linked or explained here. This is a deliberate editorial line, not an omission — general reverse image search, described above, is a different tool doing a different job.

Verify a guess against a real record

Once you have a candidate name, the databases and credits above are the check, not the finish line. Our own performer index and category rankings cross-reference sourced, dated records — birth year, active years, studios, verified awards — against a documented population, which is a real way to confirm or rule out a guess rather than another list to add to the pile.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who are the performers people most often try to identify?

This page names thirteen: ten of this site's own highest-measured-search-demand performers with a photograph on file — Angela White, Dani Daniels, Sunny Leone, Sophie Dee, Jenna Haze, Savannah Bond, Lana Rhoades, Abella Danger, Riley Reid and Mia Khalifa — plus the three-Christy name-collision case study. High search demand is a checkable proxy for exactly the situation that generates this search: a widely circulated image or scene with no credit attached.

How do I actually find out who a pornstar is from a photo or video?

Combine three things rather than relying on one: a reverse image search on the least-processed version of the image you have, a cross-check against a performer database such as IAFD or Wikidata, and, where you can trace it, the studio’s own credit for that release. Confirm any candidate name against the performer’s own verified account before treating it as settled.

Does reverse image search actually work for this?

Sometimes, and less often than people expect. It works best on a clean, unedited still that closely matches an already-indexed image. It degrades badly on screenshots from re-encoded, mirrored or heavily compressed re-uploads, which is the state most identification requests actually start from, and a zero-result search only means no match exists in that particular tool’s index.

What is the best performer database for this?

None of them is complete on its own. The Internet Adult Film Database (IAFD) is the closest thing to an industry-standard credit catalogue but is US-studio-centric and thinner on cam, amateur and international performers; Wikidata gives structured, cross-referenceable data but is community-edited and needs the same scrutiny as Wikipedia itself.

Why do so many searches return the wrong performer?

Because a name is not a unique identifier in this industry. Stage names get reused across unrelated people, changed mid-career, and in some markets assigned by a studio on contract — see the six documented collisions on this page, including three different performers who all go by "Christy" and a "Tessa Fowler" who is a sitting Vanuatuan politician rather than the model.

Can this page help me identify someone from a screenshot of leaked or non-consensual material?

No. This page covers identifying working performers in published, consensual commercial work only. It does not assist with identifying a private individual from leaked, hacked or otherwise non-consensual imagery, regardless of how the request is phrased, and no tool built for that purpose is named or linked here.

Are community identification forums reliable?

Uneven at best. They can be fast for widely circulated content, but there is no verification standard behind an answer, confidently wrong guesses are common, and the format has also been used to try to identify private individuals in non-consensual material — which is not something this page supports. Treat a forum answer as a lead to check, not as confirmation.

Why does a performer’s credited name sometimes not match what I find elsewhere?

Stage names change over a career, get assigned by a studio or agency on signing a contract in some markets, and are sometimes reused entirely by unrelated performers. The conventions are covered in full on our stage-name page rather than repeated here.

Is Wikidata reliable for identifying a performer?

Useful as one input, not as a sole source. It gives structured, cross-referenceable data that is genuinely helpful for pulling several sources together quickly, but it is edited collaboratively exactly like Wikipedia and individual claims should be checked against an award ceremony page, a studio credit, or the performer’s own account before you rely on them.

What should I do once I think I have found the right name?

Check it against a sourced, dated record rather than stopping at the first match. Our own performer index and category rankings publish birth years, active years, studios and verified awards for a documented population, which is a genuine way to confirm — or rule out — a candidate name rather than adding another guess to the pile.

Why won’t this page just tell me how to identify anyone from any photo?

Because the same technique that finds a working performer’s public credit can also be used to try to unmask a private individual in material they never consented to have shared, and that is a real, documented harm this site will not contribute to. The line is stated once here and held throughout the page: published, consensual, commercial work only.

How this page was researched

This page publishes no ranking, so the Performer Index was not applied to it. It is sourced and corrected to the same standard as every ranking on this site — the difference is that the finding here is a documented absence rather than an order. The full rubric, including who is excluded from a ranking and why, is published on the Ranking methodology page.

Search this question today and most of what comes back is unhelpful in a specific way: aggregator pages that guess, forum threads with confident wrong answers, and apps that promise a face match and mostly return a plausible-looking stranger. None of that is malicious by itself, but treating a guess as an identification is exactly how misidentification happens — and in an industry built on stage names that get reused, changed and studio-assigned, that mistake attaches a real person’s public record to somebody else entirely.

What actually works is duller and more reliable: a reverse image search run correctly, cross-checked against a performer database or a studio’s own credit page, and confirmed against a profile the performer has publicly claimed as hers. None of those routes is instant and each has a real failure mode, set out below, alongside the specific reason names collide so often in this category and where our own database can finish the job a search on its own cannot.

This edition adds a direct answer to a narrower, practical question: who does a "who is that" search actually turn out to be, most often? Ten performers join the three-Christy case study below, chosen on one checkable rule — this site's own highest measured branded-search demand among performers with a photograph on file. High demand is a reasonable, checkable proxy for exactly the situation this page is written for: a name whose image and scenes circulate widely enough to be seen without a credit attached is, by that same fact, a name a stranger is likely to go looking for.

⚠︎

Before you publish this page: This page carries no ranked field. Thirteen already-documented performers sit in an unranked companion roster. Ten of them — Angela White, Dani Daniels, Sunny Leone, Sophie Dee, Jenna Haze, Savannah Bond, Lana Rhoades, Abella Danger, Riley Reid and Mia Khalifa — are this site's own highest-measured-branded-search-demand performers with a photograph on file, selected as a checkable proxy for the performers a "who is that" search most often actually means. The remaining three (Christy Canyon, Christy Marks, Christy Mack) are a name-collision case study, sourced from their existing programme-wide records rather than researched fresh — Christy Marks in particular remains a low-confidence record with no Wikipedia article in any language and no portrait on file, which is why she closes out the list. The identification routes described in the industry section reflect the tool landscape as of August 2026 (Google Lens, TinEye and Yandex reverse image search; IAFD and Wikidata as performer databases); tool behaviour and coverage change, so verify current capabilities before relying on any of them. No facial-recognition search service is named or linked anywhere on this page, and no material involving a private individual or non-consensual imagery is referenced.

What changed in this edition

  • Ten names added to the companion roster, answering this wave's specific brief: "give it a list of the performers people most often try to identify." Selected on this site's own measured branded-search-demand data, with a photograph on file as a hard requirement, and ordered by demand, then award count, then career length.
  • The original identification method, the six documented name-collision cases and the three-Christy case study are unchanged — this edition adds the requested list without rewriting the practical guidance the page already carried.
  • Total companion roster: thirteen, all with a photograph on file, none ranked against another — this stays a task-answering reference page, not a ranked listicle.
  • Every legitimate identification route explained with its real limitations: reverse image search, performer databases, studio and scene credits, a performer’s own verified accounts, and community identification forums.
  • The non-consensual-imagery boundary stated in the open: this page identifies working performers in published commercial work, not private individuals from leaked material, and names no tool built for that purpose.
