Pornstar Ranked

The Best Curvy Pornstars, Ranked

This is the one "body" ranking in our programme where the recognition system genuinely holds up under checking. AVN did not always treat BBW performance as a fan-vote afterthought: from the 31st AVN Awards in January 2014 through the 34th in January 2017, "BBW Performer of the Year" was a juried, industry-selected category, decided the same way Best Actress or Female Performer of the Year is decided — not by readers.

Only four performers ever held that version of the title, and three of them are ranked here. AVN moved the category to its Fan Awards section from 2018 onward, and Urban X and a dedicated BBW Awards body have each inducted a performer into an actual Hall of Fame.

That is a real, checkable award architecture, not a bolted-on fan poll, and it is the reason this page weights Recognition closer to our programme default than either of the two adjacent "body" rankings in this programme.

The short answer

Kelly Shibari ranks first among curvy pornstars on our index. She is the only Urban X Hall of Fame inductee in the category (2020), on top of back-to-back NightMoves Best BBW Performer wins in 2013 and 2014 and the Fanny Awards’ renamed BBW title the same year. Angelina Castro, inducted into the BBW Awards Hall of Fame in 2021, ranks second, and April Flores — winner of AVN’s inaugural and second BBW Performer of the Year titles — ranks third.

The ranking

The 12 performers, ranked

Every performer here holds at least one confirmed BBW-specific award from AVN, Urban X, NightMoves, the Fanny Awards or Pornhub, checked against that ceremony’s own published record rather than an aggregator’s. Each profile carries the same structure: verified facts, the score breakdown across all six pillars, our argument for the placement, the honest counter-argument, the full award record, and the sources. Four entries rest on the award record almost alone, with little or no further biography documented anywhere — that is stated plainly on each one rather than filled in with invented detail.

Why Kelly ranks 1st

Shibari holds the only genuine Hall of Fame induction attached to a body that runs dedicated BBW categories: Urban X, in 2020.

That alone would carry an entry, but it sits on top of the single deepest multi-year BBW award run in this list — back-to-back NightMoves Best BBW Performer wins in 2013 and 2014, a NightMoves Triple Play Award the same year, the Fanny Awards’ "Whola Lotta Love" title in 2013, and two separate Feminist Porn Awards four years apart.

She entered the industry in 2007 after a decade as an art director and production designer in mainstream film and television, and became the first plus-size model on a Penthouse Forum cover in 2014.

Her crossover reach is real too — a Rammstein music video and an appearance in the Sons of Anarchy series finale — documented Hollywood porn star credits in the strict sense — both in the same eventful stretch of her career.

The case against: Her most recent confirmed BBW-specific award dates to 2015, and her career since then rests more on the earlier Hall of Fame induction than on continuing competitive wins.

Born in Japan and relocated to the United States at fifteen, Kelly Shibari spent a decade as an art director and production designer in mainstream film and television before entering the adult industry in 2007 by submitting photos to The Score Group. In June 2014 she became the first plus-size model to appear on the cover of Penthouse Forum. Her award record is the deepest BBW-specific run of anyone in this category: two consecutive NightMoves Best BBW Performer wins (2013, 2014), a NightMoves Triple Play Award the same year, the Fanny Awards’ "Whola Lotta Love" BBW Performer of the Year in 2013, and induction into the Urban X Awards Hall of Fame in 2020. She has also crossed into mainstream media, appearing in Rammstein’s 2011 music video "Mein Land" and in the 2014 series finale of Sons of Anarchy.

Signature: The only performer on this list with a genuine Hall of Fame induction from a body that runs dedicated BBW categories, on top of the deepest multi-year BBW award run in the field.

Why Angelina ranks 2nd

Castro is the clearest example in this category of a performer moving from BBW-specific recognition into genuinely mainstream studio work rather than the reverse, which is the rarer direction.

She won AVN’s Favorite BBW Performer award in 2018 — independently confirmed against the 35th AVN Awards’ own record, the first year the category ran as a fan vote — and was inducted into the BBW Awards Hall of Fame in 2021.

Alongside that specific-category record she has filmed for Bangbros, Elegant Angel, Evil Angel, Naughty America and Reality Kings, plus a credited run for the studio behind our Brazzers pornstars ranking, a spread of major mainstream studios that almost none of the specialist BBW roster around her shares.

She has also co-hosted the Spanish-language radio programme SOS (Sex or Sexy) since 2015 — she is also ranked on the Latina pornstars page — and co-directed productions since 2011, a media and production footprint well beyond performing alone.

The case against: Her most visible recent activity is media and radio work rather than continued competitive performance recognition, and current professional status after 2021 is not independently confirmed.

Career

Born in Havana in 1982, Angelina Castro is documented on her own Wikipedia page as the first Cuban-American adult film star, having entered the industry after studying to become a chiropractor and needing to pay off student loans. She gained wider attention in 2012 through a social-media promotion with fellow performer Sara Jay during the NBA Finals, has co-hosted the Spanish-language radio programme SOS (Sex or Sexy) since 2015, and has hosted the internet television series La Cosa Nostra since 2008. In 2011 she began co-directing productions with Josh Stone, starting with Angelina Mundo, and became a spokesperson for the Garner’s Garden skincare brand in 2019. Her competitive record includes an AVN Favorite BBW Performer win in 2018 and BBW Hall of Fame induction in 2021.

Signature: The broadest media crossover on this list — a Spanish-language radio show, an internet TV series and a co-directing credit — on top of a BBW Hall of Fame induction.

Why April ranks 3rd

Flores’s case is the strongest in this category because it survives the closest checking. She won the very first AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year at the 31st AVN Awards in January 2014, then won it again the following year — both confirmed individually against AVN’s own ceremony records, which matters because a looser reading of her own award table could be misread as a two-year sweep that didn’t happen quite that way.

On top of the two AVN wins she holds a NightMoves Best BBW Performer title, BBW FanFest’s Creative BBW of the Year, a Feminist Porn Award, and BBW Awards Humanitarian of the Year in 2021.

She became the first plus-size performer on an AVN magazine cover and co-authored a twelve-year photography collaboration, Fat Girl, with her late husband Carlos Batts.

She has also said publicly that she avoids what she calls "traditional BBW porn", which she considers derogatory to the performers in it — a rare piece of documented internal criticism of this category’s own marketing, and the reason she is also on the industry beauty-standard page.

The case against: No birth date is documented anywhere in the sourcing used, and no independent credit count exists — her record rests on breadth of recognition and public statement rather than filmography size.

Career

April Flores began in plus-size print modelling before her first adult-film scene in 2005, performing with Belladonna. She won the inaugural AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year at the 31st AVN Awards in January 2014 — the category’s first year of existence — and won it again the following year at the 32nd AVN Awards, both confirmed against AVN’s own ceremony records rather than a secondary claim of "won both years" that some summaries repeat loosely. She became the first plus-size performer to appear on the cover of AVN magazine, and co-authored the 2013 photography book Fat Girl with her husband Carlos Batts, a twelve-year collaboration published by Rare Bird Books. She has written for The Feminist Porn Book and has stated publicly that she avoids performing in what she considers "traditional BBW porn", which she has described as derogatory toward the performers in it — an unusually direct piece of documented industry-terminology criticism from inside the category itself.

Signature: The only performer in this category to win AVN’s juried BBW Performer of the Year in consecutive years, including the inaugural one — and the only one on record publicly criticising the genre’s own conventional marketing as demeaning to the women in it.

Why Karla ranks 4th

Lane won the AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year at the 33rd AVN Awards in January 2016 — the last year the category was decided by the industry rather than by fan vote, before AVN moved it into its Fan Awards section for good the following year.

That alone places her among a small, closed group of four performers who ever held the juried version of this title.

She then won again three years later, at the 36th AVN Awards in 2019, this time for the broader Niche Performer of the Year category — a second, separately judged win rather than a repeat of the same prize. Both are confirmed directly against AVN’s own ceremony pages.

The case against: Wikidata records her active period as ending in 2016, which sits awkwardly against the confirmed 2019 award and is not resolved here; no dedicated Wikipedia article or independent credit count exists.

Karla Lane won the AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year at the 33rd AVN Awards in January 2016 — the last year the category ran as a juried, industry-voted title before AVN moved it into its fan-voted Fan Awards section the following year. She won again at the 36th AVN Awards in 2019, this time for the broader Niche Performer of the Year category. Both wins were checked directly against AVN’s own published ceremony records rather than a secondary listing. Wikidata records her active period as 2005–2016, which sits awkwardly against a confirmed 2019 award; that discrepancy is not resolved here and is flagged rather than smoothed over.

Why BadKittyyy ranks 5th

BadKittyyy represents the platform-era shift in this category about as cleanly as any name on this list: an AVN Favorite BBW Star Fan Award at the 39th AVN Awards in 2022, confirmed directly against AVN’s own record, and a separately recorded Pornhub Favorite BBW award at the 6th Pornhub Awards in 2024.

The second award comes from Wikidata rather than a cross-checked ceremony page, so it carries less certainty than the AVN win, but two BBW titles from two different major platforms two years apart is still a real and unusual spread of recognition for a performer with almost no other public biography, and the reason she is also on the hottest pornstars page.

The case against: No debut year, birthplace or credit count is documented anywhere, and the more recent of her two awards could not be independently cross-checked against a dedicated ceremony page.

BadKittyyy won AVN’s "Favorite BBW Star" Fan Award at the 39th AVN Awards in January 2022, confirmed directly against AVN’s own ceremony record. Why Alex ranks 6th

Blair’s entry exists on the strength of one fact, verified twice: she won AVN’s "Favorite BBW Star" Fan Award at the 40th AVN Awards in January 2023, and won it again three ceremonies later at the 43rd AVN Awards in January 2026. Both wins are confirmed directly against AVN’s own published winners lists.

No Wikipedia article and no Wikidata entity could be located for her at all, which makes this the thinnest biography on the list by a wide margin — but a twice-verified, non-consecutive win of a named industry award is real evidence, even set against how thin the rest of the record is.

The case against: Nothing about her is independently documented beyond the two award wins themselves — no birth date, no nationality, no debut year, no credit count. This is the thinnest record on the list, and it is stated plainly rather than padded.

Why Alura ranks 8th

Jenson’s path into the industry is unusual for this category — a former competitive bodybuilder — the background our fit pornstars page is built around — and stripper who debuted in 2012 — and her recognition sits squarely in the post-2018 fan-voted era: AVN’s "Favorite BBW Porn Star" at the 36th AVN Awards in 2019, confirmed against the ceremony’s own record, plus further AVN fan-vote nominations in 2015 and 2018 that show the win was not an isolated result.

That three-nomination, one-win spread across four years is a more sustained fan-recognition pattern than most names in the post-2018 half of this list can show.

The case against: No dedicated Wikipedia article exists, and her sole confirmed win comes from a reader-voted rather than juried category, a structurally weaker form of evidence than the four names who held the title while it was still industry-judged.

She drew further AVN fan-vote nominations in 2015 and 2018. No dedicated English-language Wikipedia article exists; her record here rests on Wikidata cross-checked against AVN’s own ceremony page for the confirmed win.

Signature: A bodybuilding-to-performing career path shared by almost no one else in this category, anchored by a confirmed AVN fan-voted BBW title.

Why Venus ranks 9th

Venus Rising’s career runs unusually long for this list — seventeen years, 1998 to 2015 — bookended by two distinct recognitions in two different eras: a Penthouse Pet title in June 1999 — the print credential the Penthouse-credited nude pornstars carry — and the Fanny Awards’ "Whola Lotta Love" BBW Performer of the Year in 2014, the renamed successor to a category title the community had judged offensive the previous year.

A separate, unspecified "AVN Award" credited to her on Wikidata carries no named category or year and could not be confirmed against any AVN ceremony record, so it is left out of her scoring entirely rather than counted on trust.

The case against: No English-language Wikipedia article exists, and a further AVN award credited to her on Wikidata could not be verified and is not used — her confirmed record rests on the Penthouse title and the single Fanny Award win.

Career

Born Crystal Craft in Plattsburgh, New York, and also credited as Angelica Costello, Venus Rising was a Penthouse Pet in June 1999 and performed from 1998 to 2015. In 2014 she won the Fanny Awards’ "Whola Lotta Love" title — the BBW Performer of the Year category renamed in February 2013 after its original name was judged offensive by the community it recognised. Wikidata separately credits her with an unspecified "AVN Award", which carries no named category or year and could not be independently confirmed against any AVN ceremony record; it is not used here.

Signature: A Penthouse Pet title from 1999 and a renamed-category BBW win fifteen years later bookend one of the longer careers in this list, seventeen years from debut to retirement.

Why Julie ranks 10th

Cash’s inclusion rests on a specific and often-overlooked distinction: NightMoves runs its Best BBW Performer award as two separate votes, Fan’s Choice and Editor’s Choice, and Cash won the Editor’s Choice title in 2013 — the same year Kelly Shibari won the Fan’s Choice version.

An editorial-panel win is a different, narrower form of recognition than a reader vote, and this entry treats it as such rather than inflating it into the same tier as the AVN titles above it. She debuted in 2009 and has been active since, though no independent credit count or studio record could be confirmed.

The case against: This is a single win from one award body’s smaller-panel vote, with no further competitive recognition, no Wikipedia article and no verifiable filmography beyond the confirmed award.

Julie Cash, born Cheyenne Snow in Dallas, debuted in 2009 and won the NightMoves Editor’s Choice award for Best BBW Performer in 2013, the same year Kelly Shibari won the equivalent Fan’s Choice title — the two awards are voted separately by NightMoves’ editorial staff and its readers respectively. No dedicated English-language Wikipedia article exists for her, and no credit count or studio affiliation could be independently verified beyond the confirmed award.

Signature: A single, specific editorial-panel win rather than a reader-vote one — a different and narrower kind of recognition than most of this list, and one this entry states plainly rather than inflating.

Why Angel ranks 11th

DeLuca’s single confirmed credential is a specific and checkable one: she won the AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year at the 34th AVN Awards in January 2017, the very last time the category was judged by the industry before AVN handed it to reader voting for good.

That makes her the closing name on a four-year list of juried BBW champions that opened with April Flores in 2014. The win is confirmed directly against AVN’s own ceremony record rather than an aggregator’s.

The case against: Beyond that single confirmed win, nothing about her career is independently documented — no debut year, no credit count, no studio affiliation, and no encyclopaedia article of any kind.

Angel DeLuca won the AVN Award for BBW Performer of the Year at the 34th AVN Awards in January 2017, the final year the title ran as a juried, industry-selected category — AVN moved it to a fan-voted format the following year. The win is confirmed directly against AVN’s own ceremony record. Beyond that, her documented biography is thin: no dedicated English Wikipedia article exists, and no further award, credit count or studio affiliation could be independently verified.

Signature: The last performer to hold AVN’s BBW title while it was still judged by the industry rather than voted on by fans — a specific, checkable distinction rather than a general claim of being "recognised".

Why Crystal ranks 12th

Clear’s single confirmed credential predates every AVN BBW award on this list by six years: she won Urban X’s "Hottest BBW Star" in 2008, the first year that award existed, confirmed against Urban X’s own ceremony record.

That makes her the earliest-dated verified BBW-specific winner in this entire category, at a point when the recognition apparatus for this niche barely existed at all. Beyond a documented 1984 birth date and Baltimore birthplace, nothing else about her career could be independently confirmed.

The case against: The 2008 win is her only documented credential, with no debut year, credit count, studio affiliation or encyclopaedia article to place it in a wider career context.

Definitions

BBW, SSBBW, curvy, thick, plus-size, voluptuous: six terms, six different jobs

Big-ass-pornstars, published earlier in this programme, already sorted out the shape-versus-size confusion that runs through "big ass", "PAWG" and "thick". This page is not repeating that taxonomy. What follows is specifically about the size ladder — the six terms that describe overall body size and how the industry, and its award bodies, actually use each one differently.

"BBW" — Big Beautiful Woman — is not a vague compliment in this industry, it is the formal category name used by AVN, Urban X, NightMoves, the Fanny Awards and Pornhub for their competitive titles. It is a size classification: performers marketed and awarded under this label are consistently plus-size by conventional measure, and the term appears as a controlled Wikidata field-of-work value ("BBW pornography") attached to specialist studios such as PlumperPass. "SSBBW" — Super-Sized BBW — marks a distinct, larger sub-classification within that same specialist marketing used by producers to separate size tiers within their own catalogues; no performer on this list is classified under it specifically, which is itself worth noting, since it means every award here was won under the broader BBW banner rather than the more extreme one.

"Plus-size" is a term borrowed directly from mainstream fashion retail sizing rather than coined by the adult industry, and it carries a different connotation for exactly that reason. April Flores has said publicly that she avoids what she calls "traditional BBW porn", which she considers derogatory toward the performers in it — a documented, on-the-record preference for plus-size framing over the industry’s own BBW branding, from inside the category itself. That is a genuine terminology tension this page reports rather than smooths over.

"Thick" and "curvy" are the softest terms of the six, and neither is a size classification at all — they describe fullness and shape and are used across performers of very different overall sizes, which is why they overlap so heavily with the vocabulary already covered on our big-ass performers ranking. A documented athletic build is a different claim again, and the fit pornstars ranking is where this programme makes it. "Voluptuous" is older still: it survives today mainly as the name of Score Group’s flagship magazine brand for "busty women who have had no breast implant" — a bust-focused, not size-focused, publication — which makes it the one term on this list whose primary modern use is a specific trademark rather than a general descriptor.

TermWhat it meansHow it differs
BBW (Big Beautiful Woman)The industry’s own formal size classification and award-category name, used by AVN, Urban X, NightMoves, the Fanny Awards and Pornhub for competitive titles, and as a controlled Wikidata field-of-work value attached to specialist studios.Distinct from "curvy" or "thick", which describe shape rather than a size tier, and from "plus-size", a fashion-retail term some performers prefer specifically because they find "BBW" reductive.
SSBBW (Super-Sized BBW)A distinct, larger size sub-classification used within specialist BBW production to separate size tiers in a catalogue. Not interchangeable with BBW generally — it is a narrower classification, and no performer on this list is documented under it specifically.
Plus-sizeA term borrowed from mainstream fashion retail sizing, used by some performers, including April Flores on the record, as a deliberate alternative to "BBW" framing they consider reductive.Overlaps with BBW in practice but carries a different, and for some performers preferred, connotation — a documented terminology choice rather than a synonym.
ThickA shape and fullness descriptor across the hips, thighs and chest, applied to performers of varying overall sizes. Not a size classification at all, unlike BBW, SSBBW or plus-size — already covered in detail on this programme’s big-ass performers taxonomy and not repeated here.
CurvyThe softest and most general-audience term of the six, describing shape rather than a specific size tier — the word in this page’s own title.Functionally close to "thick" but even less specific, and rarely the operative word in a studio’s own internal category tagging.
VoluptuousAn older term whose primary modern use is as the trademark of Score Group’s flagship bust-focused magazine brand rather than a general size descriptor.Bust-focused rather than size-focused in its current dominant usage — a different axis again from BBW, SSBBW or plus-size.
Context

From a niche magazine brand to a four-year juried AVN title

1991–2007

A publishing niche with no film-award pathway at all

The Score Group, founded in 1991, launched XL Girls as a spinoff dedicated specifically to larger women — the publication itself describes its subjects as "generally referred to as BBW or rubenesque" — alongside its bust-focused Voluptuous magazine. This was purely a print and later web publishing niche. No AVN, XBIZ or Urban X award category recognised BBW performance in any form during this period, and none of the performers ranked on this list had begun their careers before it closed out.

2008–2012

Urban X opens the category, and a name gets rejected

Urban X ran the first dedicated BBW award categories in the industry from 2008: Hottest BBW Star (won by Crystal Clear that year), BBW of the Year, BBW Newcomer of the Year and BBW IR Star of the Year. The Fanny Awards, run by Exxxotica, followed with its own BBW title — originally named "Hungry Hungry Hottie" — which the community judged offensive and had renamed to "Whola Lotta Love" by February 2013. Kelly Shibari won the renamed title in its first year.

2014–2017

A genuinely juried AVN title, for exactly four years

AVN introduced BBW Performer of the Year as a new, industry-judged category at the 31st AVN Awards in January 2014, describing it explicitly as a response to evolving market trends. April Flores won it that year and the next; Karla Lane won the third year, and Angel DeLuca the fourth. Every one of those four wins is confirmed directly against AVN’s own ceremony pages. This is the only stretch of juried, non-fan-voted body-type recognition anywhere in this programme’s three "body" articles.

2018–2026

Fan voting, platform awards, and two Halls of Fame

From the 35th AVN Awards in 2018, the BBW title moved permanently into AVN’s Fan Awards section, first as "Favorite BBW Performer" and later "Favorite BBW Star" — Angelina Castro, Alura Jenson, BadKittyyy and Alex Blair have each won it in this reader-voted form. Pornhub introduced its own "Top BBW Performer" award at its inaugural 2018 ceremony, won by Jade Jordan in both 2018 and 2019. Meanwhile Urban X inducted Kelly Shibari into its Hall of Fame in 2020, and a dedicated BBW Awards body inducted Angelina Castro into its own Hall of Fame in 2021 — the two highest-tier recognitions this category has produced, arriving in the same period the competitive titles were shifting to reader votes.

Editorial process

Who else we considered, and one correction

Several names recur constantly on competing "curvy" and "BBW" lists, mixing real, award-holding performers with names that either could not be documented well enough to rank responsibly or, in one case, are not adult performers at all.

Considered and left off, or corrected

BF
Bootyliscious, Farrah Foxxx, Platinum Puzzy, Darling Darla, Buttafly Azz, Gigi Star and Delilah Black

All seven won an Urban X BBW-category title between 2008 and 2012, verified on Urban X’s own ceremony page. None could be resolved to a Wikipedia article or a Wikidata entity carrying any usable biographical data, and all seven are left off rather than filled in from aggregator bios.

LL
Lexxi Luxe and Becki Butterfly

Both won NightMoves Best BBW Performer titles (2014 and 2015/2016 respectively), confirmed on NightMoves’ own award page. Neither could be matched to a Wikidata entity or Wikipedia article, and both are set aside on sourcing grounds rather than dropped for lack of a real award.

RR
Renee Ross, Betty Blac, Cotton Candi, Miss LingLing, Chessie Kay and Kailani Kai

Each recurs on competing "curvy" or "BBW" lists. None returned a confirmed award or a documented BBW-specific classification in the sourcing available, and none is ranked here on that basis.

S3
Samantha 38G and Maserati

Both hold genuine BBW-category wins and both are already ranked on this programme’s big-tits pornstars list, which classifies them specifically under BBW pornography on Wikidata. Reusing either here would have created roster overlap with a sibling article for no real gain, since this list already clears its sourcing bar without them.

Sara Jay
Sara Jay

A plausible fit by reputation, but already the anchor of this programme’s MILF pornstars roster. Excluded on overlap grounds rather than sourcing grounds, consistent with how our big-ass performers ranking handled the same performer.

Corrected — not a pornographic film performer

Norma Stitz

Recurs constantly on competing "BBW pornstar" lists. Her own Wikidata record classifies her as an American fetish model, not a pornographic film performer, and no reliable source in this programme’s sourcing hierarchy documents a hardcore adult-film credit for her. Describing her as a pornstar would be a factual error about a real person, and it is corrected here rather than repeated.

Background

A specialist production segment, and the platform shift that reshaped it

Four structural facts explain how this category actually works, distinct from both the general adult-film industry and from its two sibling "body" categories in this programme.

A dedicated specialist segment, not a scene type

BBW performance is produced as its own segment with its own studios and publishers, not folded into general studio catalogues as an occasional scene variation. Score Group’s XL Girls brand, launched by a company founded in 1991, is described in its own coverage as dedicated specifically to larger women. PlumperPass is classified on Wikidata under the controlled field-of-work value "BBW pornography" — a specialist production studio built entirely around this category rather than a general studio that occasionally casts within it.

The casting and pay structure is thinly documented, and that gap is worth stating

We found no reliable-source, performer-specific reporting on pay or casting-rate differentials between specialist BBW studios and mainstream general-market studios for this category. That is a real gap in the public record, not a finding — trade coverage of this category’s economics exists (AVN’s own business press has covered the plus-size market’s commercial performance), but a rigorous, sourced comparison of what specialist versus mainstream studios actually pay does not appear in any source on this programme’s approved list, and we are not going to estimate one.

Crossover into mainstream studio work is rare, and one name shows why

Almost every performer on this list built their recognition entirely within BBW-specific channels — specialist award categories, specialist studios, or platform-native fan votes. Angelina Castro is the clear exception: alongside her AVN BBW win and BBW Awards Hall of Fame induction, she has filmed for Bangbros, Elegant Angel, Evil Angel, Naughty America, Brazzers and Reality Kings — a spread of mainstream studio credits that nobody else in this specific ranking shares. That rarity is itself the finding: eleven of twelve performers here have no documented mainstream-studio crossover at all.

The creator-platform shift removed the gatekeeper entirely

This category has been reshaped by the platform shift more than either sibling "body" article in this programme, because BBW production ran through a small number of specialist studios and publishers for decades — a real gatekeeping structure that camming, clip sites and direct fan-subscription platforms bypass completely. BadKittyyy, Alex Blair and Jade Jordan hold verified AVN and Pornhub BBW titles with no documented studio affiliation of any kind on record. Their entire public recognition exists because a platform or a fan vote created a route to it that no specialist studio contract, and no juried award panel, was required to unlock.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best curvy pornstar?

Kelly Shibari ranks first on our index. She is the category’s only Urban X Hall of Fame inductee (2020), and holds back-to-back NightMoves Best BBW Performer wins from 2013 and 2014 plus the Fanny Awards’ renamed BBW title the same year. Angelina Castro, inducted into the BBW Awards Hall of Fame in 2021, ranks second, and April Flores, winner of AVN’s first two BBW Performer of the Year titles, ranks third.

Is there an actual AVN award for BBW performers?

Yes, and its history is unusual for this programme’s "body" articles. AVN ran BBW Performer of the Year as a juried, industry-selected category for four consecutive years — the 31st through 34th AVN Awards, January 2014 to January 2017 — before moving it into its Fan Awards section from 2018 onward, first as "Favorite BBW Performer" and later "Favorite BBW Star".

What is the difference between BBW and SSBBW?

BBW (Big Beautiful Woman) is the industry’s broad, formal size classification and award-category name. SSBBW (Super-Sized BBW) is a narrower, larger sub-classification used by specialist producers to separate size tiers within their own catalogues. No performer ranked on this list is classified under SSBBW specifically — every award here was won under the broader BBW category.

Are chubby, plus-size and BBW pornstars the same thing?

They overlap heavily but are not identical in how the industry uses them. BBW is the formal award-category and classification term. "Plus-size" is borrowed from mainstream fashion retail sizing and is preferred by some performers, April Flores among them on the record, specifically because they consider "BBW" reductive. "Chubby" functions mainly as a casual search term rather than an award-body or classification label of its own.

What is the difference between "curvy", "thick" and BBW?

"Curvy" and "thick" describe shape and fullness and apply to performers across a wide range of overall sizes — they are not size classifications. BBW specifically denotes a size tier and is the term used in this category’s actual award and studio-classification system. Our companion ranking of big-ass pornstars covers the shape-focused distinction between "thick" and "PAWG" in full.

Why do some entries on this list have almost no biographical information?

Because that is genuinely all that is documented, and inventing more would mean fabricating detail that does not exist anywhere. BadKittyyy, Alex Blair, Jade Jordan and Crystal Clear are ranked on a verified, ceremony-page-confirmed BBW award and very little else — no Wikipedia article, and in three cases no Wikidata entity, could be found for them at all.

Is Norma Stitz a pornstar?

No. She recurs on competing "BBW pornstar" lists, but her own Wikidata record classifies her as an American fetish model, not a pornographic film performer, and no source in this programme’s sourcing hierarchy documents a hardcore adult-film credit for her. She is not ranked here, and the mislabelling is corrected in the near-misses section.

Why aren’t Samantha 38G, Maserati or Sara Jay on this list?

Samantha 38G and Maserati both hold genuine BBW-category wins but are already ranked on this programme’s big tits pornstars article, which classifies them under BBW pornography specifically. Sara Jay already anchors our MILF pornstars roster. All three were excluded specifically to keep roster overlap with sibling articles at zero.

Has the shift to creator platforms changed this category?

More than either of this programme’s two sibling "body" articles, because BBW production ran for decades through a small number of specialist studios and publishers — a real structural gatekeeper that camming and direct-to-fan platforms bypass entirely. BadKittyyy, Alex Blair and Jade Jordan each hold verified AVN or Pornhub BBW titles with no documented studio affiliation of any kind, illustrating that shift directly.

How often is this list updated?

A full re-audit every six months, plus an award-pillar update within fourteen days of each major ceremony. Every change is logged with a date and a reason at the foot of this page.

Methodology · The Pornstar Ranked Performer Index v3.0

How we ranked these performers

A 100-point composite built from six weighted pillars. Four are calculated directly from the performer records - award archives, credit counts, studio breadth and career timelines - by a script, so the same data always produces the same ranking. Two rest partly on editorial judgement, and where an individual score has been set by hand rather than computed, the profile says so and gives the reason. Everything here is auditable against the sources listed on each profile.

Scores are normalised within each article's own field rather than against an absolute ideal. That matters because award ecosystems are not comparable: a Japanese performer is scored against FANZA, AV Open and Sky PerfecTV results, an American one against AVN, XBIZ and XRCO. Ranking them on one absolute scale would be meaningless. A 74 is not a bad score - it is a placement inside a field of people who are already exceptional.

⚖︎

Weights for this category. Recognition sits at 26% here, close to our programme default and markedly higher than the 16% and 18% used on our big-ass and big-tits performer rankings respectively. The reason is a genuine, checkable structural difference rather than a cosmetic adjustment: AVN ran "BBW Performer of the Year" as a juried, industry-voted category for four consecutive years — the 31st through 34th AVN Awards, January 2014 to January 2017 — before moving it into its Fan Awards section from the 35th AVN Awards onward. Urban X ran its own dedicated BBW categories from 2008. And two performers on this list hold an actual Hall of Fame induction from a body that runs BBW-specific categories: Kelly Shibari (Urban X, 2020) and Angelina Castro (BBW Awards, 2021). Neither sibling "body" article in this programme has any juried category or Hall of Fame pathway at all, which is exactly why their Recognition weighting is cut so much harder than it is here. Demand still rises to 22% from a lower default because roughly half this roster’s recognition — BadKittyyy, Alex Blair, Jade Jordan, and Alura Jenson’s AVN Favorite BBW Porn Star — comes from the post-2018 fan-voted era or from platform-native ceremonies such as the Pornhub Awards, which have no juried equivalent and reward audience attention directly. Craft falls to 10% for the same reason it falls across every "body" article here: this category casts on a physical trait, not performance range. Influence rises modestly to 12% to credit the two Hall of Fame inductions and Angelina Castro’s documented crossover into mainstream studio work, a route almost nobody else on this list has taken.

This page also covers several near-synonyms readers actually search separately — "chubby pornstars", "plus size pornstars", "bbw pornstars", "thick pornstars", "voluptuous pornstars" — and almost every competing page treats them as interchangeable. They are not. BBW is the industry’s own award-category name. SSBBW marks a distinct, larger size classification used by specialist producers. "Plus-size" is a retail-sizing term some performers prefer specifically because they consider "BBW" reductive. "Thick" and "curvy" describe shape and fullness rather than a size classification at all, and overlap heavily with the vocabulary this programme already sorted out on our big-ass performers ranking. The definition section below draws these apart on size-category grounds specifically, without repeating that earlier taxonomy.

Twelve performers are ranked here, fewer than this programme’s usual fifteen to twenty, and that shortfall is a direct result of holding every name to the same sourcing bar rather than a research shortcut. A run of Urban X category winners from 2008 to 2012 — real award recipients, named on Urban X’s own ceremony page — could not be traced to any Wikipedia article or Wikidata entity with usable biographical data, and are left off rather than filled in from aggregator bios. Four of the twelve names that did clear the bar rest on their award record almost alone, with little or nothing else independently documented about them; that is stated directly on each entry rather than smoothed over.

⚠︎

Before you publish this page: Three of the twelve entries carry a "high" data-confidence rating, five "medium" and four "low". The four low-confidence entries — BadKittyyy, Alex Blair, Jade Jordan and Crystal Clear — rest on a verified award win checked against the awarding body’s own ceremony page, with little or no further biography independently documented anywhere; two of the four (Alex Blair, Jade Jordan) have no Wikipedia article or Wikidata entity at all. Every BBW-specific award cited was cross-checked against the ceremony’s own Wikipedia page rather than taken on an aggregator’s or Wikidata’s word alone, and one widely loose reading of an award table (April Flores) was corrected in the process. Verify anything marked medium or low confidence before publishing publicly.

Industry Recognition
26%
Computed from records

Awards, nominations and Hall of Fame status.

How it is scored

Calculated by script from the award arrays on each performer record. A Hall of Fame induction is the heaviest single signal, then a Performer of the Year win, then a category win, then any other competitive win, then a nomination at roughly a quarter weight. Lifetime Achievement honours are scored as ordinary wins rather than as Performer of the Year, because Hall of Fame induction already captures career recognition and double-counting it visibly distorted an earlier edition of our all-time list.

Awards are the only independently-audited quality signal this industry produces. They are voted by peers and press, their archives are public, and they are the one input a reader can check without taking our word for anything.

Body of Work
16%
Computed from records

Credit volume, studio breadth and niche-defining titles.

How it is scored

Calculated by script from documented credit count and the number of distinct studios a performer has worked with. Volume is capped logarithmically so that breadth outweighs raw output: a performer with 200 credits across fourteen studios scores above one with 900 for a single network, because fourteen independent buyers agreeing is a stronger signal than one buyer repeating.

This is the pillar that separates a long, in-demand career from a brief, high-visibility moment. Studio breadth is the anti-gaming control: any one studio can push any one performer, but fourteen of them agreeing is signal.

Audience Demand
22%
Blind-scored panel

Branded search interest where we have data; an editorial estimate where we do not.

How it is scored

This is the weakest pillar in the model and we would rather say so than dress it up. Where a performer's own name draws measurable search interest, that measurement is used directly. At present that covers a minority of the performers we have scored. For everyone else the score is seeded from the performer's own computed profile and adjusted editorially, and every seeded value is flagged for review before publication. Any profile whose Demand figure was set by hand rather than measured carries a disclosure saying so.

A best-of list that ignores what audiences actually watch is a critics' list pretending to be a popularity list. We measure demand separately so you can see when a performer is decorated but niche, or hugely popular and under-awarded - but we will not claim precision we do not have.

Craft & Screen Presence
10%
Blind-scored panel

Performance quality, range and screen presence. An editorial judgement.

How it is scored

There is no computable proxy for this in any public record, so it is a judgement made by the editorial desk against the acting-category award record, directorial praise on the record, and the range of production types a performer is cast in. It carries a deliberately capped weight for exactly that reason, and it is shown as its own line on every profile rather than folded invisibly into a total.

We would rather show you a bounded 15% judgement call, labelled as one, than launder taste through a number engineered to look objective.

Longevity & Consistency
14%
Computed from records

Years active, output consistency and successful career restarts.

How it is scored

Calculated by script from documented debut year to the most recent verified release, adjusted for gaps. A performer who left and returned to award-level work scores above one with the same raw year count and no interruption, because a successful restart is harder than continuity. Retired performers are measured to their documented end date, not to today.

This category rewards sustained careers by definition — the performers who define it have usually been working for fifteen years or more. Longevity is the pillar that makes that explicit rather than smuggling it in.

Influence & Crossover
12%
Blind-scored panel

Mainstream reach, business ownership, directing and advocacy.

How it is scored

Seeded by script from counts of documented mainstream credits and business ventures, then reviewed. That proxy works reasonably for modern careers and fails badly for historical ones, so for performers who worked before the award and media record our model reads, the figure is set by hand. Every such case is disclosed on the profile.

Some performers changed what the job is, not just how well it is done. Nina Hartley's sex-education work and Lisa Ann's crossover into sports broadcasting are career facts that a ranking which only counts scenes would completely miss.

The six-step process

1

Define the field

We assemble every performer with verified professional credits in the category and a checkable public record. Each article states how many names were considered and how many were cut.

2

Pull the records

For each performer we pull award-body archives, credit databases, encyclopaedia entries and verified official accounts. Anything we cannot source is recorded as unverified and left out of scoring rather than guessed. Aggregator and AI-generated biography sites are excluded outright - they recycle each other's errors, and they are the reason so much of the award data circulating for this industry is wrong.

3

Compute the record-derived pillars

Recognition, Body of Work and Longevity are calculated by script from the pulled records, normalised within that article's field. No human sets these numbers.

4

Set the judgement pillars

Craft is an editorial score. Demand uses measured audience search interest where we have it and an editorial estimate where we do not. Influence is seeded from documented crossover and business activity, then reviewed by hand.

5

Weight, rank, and sanity-check

Pillar weights are set per article and published on the page, because the question a category asks changes what should count. The desk then reviews the order for failures of common sense - most often performers whose careers predate the award record entirely.

6

Disclose every intervention

Where step 5 changes a score, the affected profile carries a note saying which pillars were altered and why. Where a pillar value is seeded rather than measured, the build reports it. We publish the corrections log rather than editing silently.

✕ Who we exclude, and why

  • Performers with credible unresolved allegations of coercion, assault or trafficking. A ranking is an endorsement of a professional record, and we will not extend one where consent is in question.
  • Anyone whose age at the time of any listed credit cannot be independently verified as 18 or over.
  • Performers who have publicly asked to be left off editorial rankings. Removal requests are honoured without argument and without requiring a reason.
  • Content, imagery or links sourced from leaks, hacks or non-consensual distribution — regardless of how widely circulated it is elsewhere.

△ Where this model is weak

  • Demand is our weakest inputWe have measured audience search interest for only a minority of the performers scored so far. The rest carry editorial estimates. This is the pillar most likely to move as our measurement of audience demand widens.
  • Award archives favour recent, American productionAVN, XBIZ and XRCO are US bodies founded in the 1980s and 1990s. Performers who worked earlier, or outside the United States, are structurally disadvantaged by the Recognition pillar. We correct for it by hand and disclose each correction, which is a fix but not a solution.
  • Craft is a judgement, and judgements varyOne informed desk scoring against the acting-award record is better than asserting an order with no reasoning, but it is still a view. It is capped at 15% and shown separately for that reason.
  • Pre-2000 credit counts are unreliableOlder releases are documented far less consistently than modern ones, which understates the output of long careers. The Longevity pillar partly offsets this; it does not fully correct it.
  • Normalisation means scores are not cross-comparableAn 88 on our Japanese ranking and an 88 on our MILF ranking are not the same achievement. Each score positions a performer within her own field, and comparing across articles is not a use these numbers support.

Corrections and update log

Factual corrections are made within 48 hours of verification and logged, dated and described at the foot of the article. Changes to the scoring model itself are logged the same way - when we found that Lifetime Achievement honours were being scored as Performer of the Year wins, we published the fix and the resulting rank changes rather than quietly re-running the build. Cadence: Full re-audit every six months; award pillars updated within 14 days of each major awards ceremony. Next full audit: 2027-02-20.

What changed in this edition

  • First edition. Twelve performers scored on the Pornstar Ranked Performer Index v2.1, re-weighted for a category with a genuine juried-award history unlike either sibling "body" article.
  • Recognition set at 26%, close to programme default and well above the 16–18% used on our big-ass and big-tits performer rankings, because this category actually has a four-year juried AVN title (2014–2017) and two Hall of Fame inductions behind it.
  • A size-specific taxonomy added distinguishing BBW, SSBBW, curvy, thick, plus-size and voluptuous — a different axis from the shape-focused taxonomy already published on our big-ass performers ranking.
  • A widely loose reading of April Flores’s award table — "won AVN BBW Performer of the Year both years" — was checked against the 31st and 32nd AVN Awards’ own ceremony pages individually and confirmed as two genuinely separate, consecutive wins rather than assumed.
  • Norma Stitz, who recurs on competing "BBW pornstar" lists, is not ranked and is corrected in the near-misses section: her own Wikidata record classifies her as a fetish model, not a pornographic film performer.
  • Four entries — BadKittyyy, Alex Blair, Jade Jordan and Crystal Clear — carry no confirmed biography beyond their award record. Each entry states that plainly rather than inventing detail to fill the gap.

edition

First edition published. Twelve performers scored on Index v2.1 with category-adjusted weights: Recognition 26%, Demand 22%.

2026-08-22
correction

A loose reading of April Flores’s award table as "won AVN BBW Performer of the Year both years" was checked individually against the 31st and 32nd AVN Awards’ own ceremony pages and confirmed as two genuinely separate, consecutive wins rather than assumed from a single ambiguous table entry.

2026-08-22
correction

Norma Stitz, who recurs on competing "BBW pornstar" lists, is not ranked. Her own Wikidata record classifies her as an American fetish model rather than a pornographic film performer, and the mislabelling is corrected in the near-misses section.

2026-08-22
structure

A size-specific taxonomy added distinguishing BBW, SSBBW, plus-size, thick, curvy and voluptuous — a different axis from the shape-focused taxonomy already published on our big-ass performers ranking, deliberately not repeated here.

2026-08-22
exclusion

Samantha 38G and Maserati excluded on roster-overlap grounds: both are already classified under BBW pornography and ranked on our big-tits performer ranking. Sara Jay excluded on the same grounds: she already anchors our MILF pornstars ranking. Seven Urban X BBW-category winners from 2008–2012 and two NightMoves BBW winners excluded for insufficient sourcing — none could be matched to a Wikipedia article or usable Wikidata entity.

2026-08-22
note

Four entries — BadKittyyy, Alex Blair, Jade Jordan and Crystal Clear — carry no confirmed biography beyond a verified BBW award record. Each entry states that directly rather than filling the gap with invented detail.
