Pornstar Ranked

Pornstars With Pierced Nipples: The Names, Ranked by Popularity

A piercing is not a fact about a body somebody was born with. It is a decision, taken on a date, for a reason, by a person who can talk about it afterwards — and four of the names below carry exactly that kind of direct evidence: two performers who described their own piercings on the record, and two who hold wins in the one piercing-specific award this industry has ever run.

Presented, not ranked

Thirteen names, ordered by real popularity

These thirteen are presented rather than scored against each other, in the same non-competitive way the tattooed pornstars page presents several of the same names. Four carry direct, piercing-specific evidence: two first-person statements, two Best Piercing wins, and one named business-partner account. The other nine belong here because the industry’s own alt and body-modification marketing already presents them as a group — award ceremonies built around body-modification work (NightMoves’ Best Ink, the Inked Awards), a studio (BurningAngel.com) built specifically around that aesthetic, and a headline contract a major studio itself billed as its first "alt-porn" signing.

The order is real popularity, not evidence strength. Branded search demand comes first — only Stoya clears this site’s 501-per-month measurement floor, at 720, so she leads. Everyone else is ordered by documented award count, and where two people hold the same count, by documented career length. A missing demand figure means not measured, never not popular, and it is the position most of this roster is in.

Nobody on this list is described here by body, measurement or figure. Category membership follows how the industry itself markets and labels these performers, not any claim of our own.

Two qualifications worth stating plainly. Ella Hughes and Lola Taylor hold an award for piercing in general, not specifically for nipple piercing. Buck Angel’s piercing record comes from his business partner’s named, on-the-record account, not his own words — the only name here documented that specific way, and it is why he was excluded in the first edition and included in this one.

Why Stoya is included

Stoya leads this list on measured popularity, not evidence strength: at 720 monthly searches she is the only name here whose branded demand clears this site’s measurement floor at all, so she takes the top spot before award count or career length are ever consulted.

Her presence on this page follows the industry-categorisation rule rather than a personal piercing credential — she signed with Digital Playground in October 2007 as, by the studio’s own description, its first alt-porn contract performer, at a moment when alt-porn was still a subculture rather than a mainstream studio category.

That is a documented business fact about how the industry itself classified her, which is the exact test this page now applies.

Her later record runs well outside this subject entirely: she co-founded the pay-per-scene site TRENCHCOATx in 2014 and zerospaces.com in 2018, has co-written Slate’s "How to Do It" column since 2019, published an essay collection in 2018, and won a Best Actress award at a Serbian film festival for a science-fiction feature.

The case against: This page does not have a documented first-person statement from Stoya about her own piercings. A reader asked her directly in a verified 2011 AMA whether her nipples are pierced, and the reply could not be retrieved from a thread running to several thousand comments — genuinely unresolved, not a negative finding, and it is recorded that way in the near-miss section rather than treated as evidence either way. Her place on this page rests on the alt-porn contract fact, which is a different and separately documented thing.
Career and credits

Career

Stoya signed an exclusive three-year contract with Digital Playground in October 2007, reportedly the company’s first alt-porn contract performer, and swept the 2009 new-starlet awards at AVN, XBIZ and XRCO. She co-founded the pay-per-scene site TRENCHCOATx with Kayden Kross in March 2014 and zerospaces.com in 2018. Since 2019 she has co-written the How to Do It advice column for Slate, and has contributed to The New York Times, Vice, The Guardian and Esquire. Her essay collection Philosophy, Pussycats, & Porn was published in 2018, and she won Best Actress at FEST Beograd for the Serbian science-fiction film Ederlezi Rising.

Signature: The category’s most complete pivot into writing: from a contract new-starlet sweep at twenty-two to a standing column at a mainstream American magazine.

Why Bonnie is included

Rotten holds the highest documented award count on this page — eleven — which is why she ranks second once Stoya’s measured demand is accounted for.

She entered the industry in 2012 as a fetish model and feature dancer, and two years later became, in AVN’s own framing of the win, the first performer from the alt or tattooed end of the business to take its top annual honour, Female Performer of the Year.

She launched her own production company, Mental Beauty, Inc., in January 2014, ran a tattoo shop between 2017 and 2018, and released a product line with Pipedream in 2015. She is ranked in full on our tattooed pornstars page and on our fake tits pornstars ranking.

The case against: Her award and her tattoo shop document standing on the alt/tattooed side of the industry generally, not a nipple-piercing credential specifically, and this page does not narrow that gap on her behalf. It is the same distinction every Tier 2 name on this page carries, stated once here rather than repeated for each.

Career

Rotten entered the industry in early 2012, at eighteen, as a fetish model and feature dancer. Two years later she became the first performer from the alt or tattooed end of the business to take AVN Female Performer of the Year, and in January 2014 she launched her own production company, Mental Beauty, Inc., directing for Girlfriends Films and Digital Playground. She released a product line with Pipedream in 2015, ran a tattoo shop between 2017 and 2018 and retired from performing in 2020. She appeared in The Weeknd’s Kiss Land video in 2013.

Signature: Proof that the category’s breakout window is not only for the girl-next-door marketing lane — she won the industry’s top female title on a heavily tattooed, explicitly alt persona.

Why Allie is included

Haze holds the second-highest award count on this page, seven, spread across an unusually wide set of bodies for a nine-year run from 2009 to 2018.

The 2016 Inked Awards win is the one that matters most for this page: it is a ceremony built specifically around tattooed and body-modified performers, the same kind of third-party categorisation that the Spank Bank’s Best Piercing category performs for Ella Hughes and Lola Taylor, just on the tattoo side of the same subject rather than the piercing side. She is ranked in full on our tattooed pornstars page.

The case against: The Inked Awards judge tattoo work, not piercing, and this page does not claim otherwise. She belongs here because the industry categorises the body-modification cohort together, not because of any piercing-specific credential of her own.
Career and credits

Career

Haze worked a contained nine-year career, 2009 to 2018, and drew recognition from an unusually wide spread of bodies for this list — XRCO, AVN, TLA’s Raw Awards, Penthouse and, in 2016, the Inked Awards, a ceremony built specifically around tattooed performers. Wikidata records five of those seven credits without specifying the exact category, which is disclosed rather than guessed at here.

Why Joanna is included

Angel is not on this page because of a personal piercing credential — she is on it because she built the company the industry itself credits with turning alt-porn from a subculture into a durable business, which is the plainest possible case of an industry categorising a performer under this page’s subject rather than this page doing it for her.

Co-founding BurningAngel.com with Mitch Fontaine in April 2002 while still a college student, she worked as actress, director, writer and producer for her own label and was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2016, confirmed on AVN’s own winners list, and the NightMoves Hall of Fame. She is ranked in full on our tattooed pornstars page and on our American pornstars page.

The case against: Founding the category that markets alt and pierced performers is not the same as a documented piercing of her own, and this page does not present it as one. Her Wikipedia biography also carries an XRCO Hall of Fame claim that does not appear on XRCO’s own curated member list; it is disclosed rather than scored on her profile and is not repeated here as fact.

Career

Joanna Angel, born Joanna Mostov in Brooklyn, co-founded BurningAngel.com with Mitch Fontaine in April 2002 while still a college student, building the site into what is widely credited as the company that made alt-porn commercially viable rather than a niche curiosity. She works as actress, director, writer and producer for her own label, and was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2016, confirmed on AVN’s own winners list, and the NightMoves Hall of Fame. A widely repeated claim — carried on her own Wikipedia biography — that she was also inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2016 does not appear anywhere on Wikipedia’s own curated list of XRCO Hall of Fame members, and the equivalent Wikidata statement carries no reference at all; it is not scored here.

Why Romi is included

Rain debuted in 2012 and holds the single strongest competitive award of anyone reused from the tattooed cohort on this page: XBIZ Female Performer of the Year, the ceremony’s top annual title, in 2018, alongside further XBIZ scene wins in 2016, 2019 and 2024.

That six-year span of competitive recognition sits inside a career already ranked and scored in full on our tattooed pornstars page, which is the category this page follows her from rather than any piercing-specific finding of its own.

The case against: As with the other Tier 2 names, her inclusion here follows the industry’s general alt/body-modification categorisation of her career, not a documented piercing. No first-person piercing statement or award was found for her individually, and this page does not imply one exists.
Career and credits

Career

Rain debuted in 2012 and built a decade-plus career anchored by the single strongest competitive award any performer in this roster holds: XBIZ Female Performer of the Year, the ceremony’s top annual title, in 2018. That sits alongside two further XBIZ scene wins in 2016 and 2019 and a fourth in 2024, a six-year span of competitive recognition that is unusually sustained for the category. She maintains an active, large social-media following (933,000+ on Twitter/X, 74,900 YouTube subscribers) alongside her studio work.

Signature: The only performer in this ranking to hold a top-tier annual performer-of-the-year title from a major American award body.

Why Ella is included

Hughes holds the most recent documented win in the only piercing-specific award category anyone in this industry has run, taken at the 2020 Spank Bank Awards and recorded in the encyclopaedia’s own list of British performers alongside her XBIZ and AVN results.

This page does not oversell what that award is: it is fan-voted, it has no published archive anyone can open, and it sits several tiers below the juried categories that decide where she actually ranks on this site.

What it is, though, is a third party naming piercing as the thing being recognised, which is the function the tattoo-specific categories perform on the ink side and the only time this trait has had one.

Around it sits a career with far heavier recognition: a law degree at Southampton Solent left behind for the industry in 2015, two UK Adult Production titles, XBIZ Foreign Female Performer of the Year in 2019, and AVN wins in 2020 and 2025, with BBC coverage of the career change that very few performers on any list here can match.

The case against: The category is "Best Piercing", not "best nipple piercing", and this page will not close that gap by looking at pictures. She belongs on a page about documented piercing; whether the particular piercing this search term asks about is among hers is not something the record settles, and it is left unsettled here rather than guessed at.
Career and credits

Career

Ella Hughes began a law degree at Southampton Solent University before leaving to support herself financially, moving through webcam modelling and adult-magazine work (Escort, Razzle) into film from 2015 at age twenty. The BBC covered that transition directly in a BBC Three piece, "I quit my law degree to become a porn star," and gave her further mainstream coverage in a BBC feature on the industry, "A Career in Porn." She also appeared in a 2016 episode of Game of Thrones. Her award record runs from two UK Adult Production (UKAP) titles in 2015–16 through XBIZ Foreign Female Performer of the Year and XBIZ Europa International Crossover Star in 2019 to two AVN wins: Best Foreign-Shot Group Sex Scene for Double Dare in 2020 (with Jia Lissa and Jason Luv) and Best International Anal Sex Scene for Scandalous — Scene 1 in 2025 (with Xander Corvus) — the exact category name and co-stars confirmed directly against AVN’s own winners-announcement articles for both years; the AVN ceremony’s own Wikipedia summary pages do not itemise this category, but AVN’s own press releases do.

Signature: A decade-long career bookended by wins from both AVN and XBIZ, with BBC coverage of the law-degree-to-film transition that gives this record more independent, mainstream sourcing than most others on this list.

Why Christy is included

Mack worked a short, documented career from around 2011 to 2014, taking XBIZ Best New Starlet and AVN’s fan-voted Most Promising New Starlet in the same 2014 season after launching her own site the year before.

That career is already ranked and scored in full on our tattooed pornstars page, and her inclusion here follows the same industry categorisation as the rest of that cohort.

She left performing in 2014, confirmed retirement publicly in 2015, and has since built a second public role around raising money for survivors of domestic violence following a 2014 assault by a former partner, for which he was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment with parole eligibility after thirty-six years.

The case against: No individual piercing statement or award was found for her, and none is implied. Her place here follows the same general alt/body-modification categorisation as the other Tier 2 names, stated once rather than repeated for each.

Career

Born Christine Mackinday, and given by English Wikipedia as born in 1991 or 1992 with a working period of 2011 to 2014 — a gap that guarantees a debut at eighteen or over on the year arithmetic alone. In the 2014 season, aged twenty-one or twenty-two, she took XBIZ Best New Starlet and AVN’s fan-voted Most Promising New Starlet, having launched her own site the year before. She left performing in 2014 and confirmed retirement publicly in April 2015. In 2016 she launched a clothing line with Pornhub to raise money for survivors of domestic violence. She was the victim of a violent assault by a former partner in August 2014; he was convicted of sexual assault and kidnapping and sentenced to life imprisonment with parole eligibility after thirty-six years.

Signature: Two newcomer titles in a single season three years after a verified adult debut, and — unusually for a career this short — a substantial second act built around a cause rather than a brand.

Why Small is included

Small Hands entered the industry in 2013 through a scene for Burning Angel, the alt-porn studio run by Joanna Angel, whom he married in 2016 and who gave him his stage name — a career built entirely inside the studio that defines this page’s category, which is as direct an industry categorisation as this list carries for anyone in Tier 2.

He became a two-time AVN Male Performer of the Year, having already taken the XBIZ and XRCO equivalents, making him one of the very few performers to hold the top honour from all three American award bodies. Outside the industry he is a musician, signing his project Empty Streets to Cleopatra Records in 2021.

The case against: No documented piercing statement or piercing-specific award was found for him. He belongs on this page because his career is built inside the studio the industry itself uses to define the alt-porn and body-modification category, not because of a personal credential on the trait itself.

Why Kleio is included

Valentien debuted in 2007 and built a decade-long career capped by AVN Best Actress in 2017, one of the award show’s most competitive individual acting categories, alongside a Best Supporting Actress win the year before.

NightMoves’ editors gave her their Best Ink award in 2015 — direct third-party confirmation of documented body-modification work, the tattoo-side equivalent of the Best Piercing wins Ella Hughes and Lola Taylor hold on this same page. She is ranked in full on our tattooed pornstars page.

The case against: Best Ink recognises tattoo work specifically, not piercing, and this page does not blur that line. Her presence here follows the industry’s bundling of tattoo and piercing under one body-modification category, which is the premise of this whole edition, stated plainly rather than assumed.

Career

Valentien debuted in 2007 and built a decade-long career capped by AVN Best Actress in 2017 — one of the award show’s most competitive individual acting categories — alongside a Best Supporting Actress win the year before. NightMoves’ editors gave her their Best Ink award in 2015, the same tattoo-specific category Bonnie Rotten and Joanna Angel also hold, direct confirmation of documented tattoo work rather than an inference from photography.

Signature: One of only two performers on this list to hold a top individual AVN acting win (Best Actress) rather than a niche or scene-specific category.

Why Buck is included

Angel began his gender transition in 1990 and entered adult film in 2004, becoming the first trans man featured in an all-male production by a major gay studio in 2005 and, in 2007, the only trans man to win AVN’s Transsexual Performer of the Year.

He built his own label, Buck Angel Entertainment, and from around 2012 shifted his public work toward sex education. The piercing claim about him comes from a named, dated source: a 2024 product announcement in which his business partner states, on the record and under his own name, that the two of them met thirty years ago when he pierced Angel’s nipple at his piercing studio on Melrose in Los Angeles.

Round one excluded this as someone else’s claim rather than the performer’s own; the round-two rule accepts a named, dated, on-the-record industry account even when it is not the performer’s own words, which is precisely what this is.

The case against: It genuinely is someone else’s sentence, not his — Angel’s own quote in the same 2024 release does not mention it. This page discloses that distinction rather than upgrading a business partner’s account into a first-person statement, and it is the only name here documented this specific way.

Career

Born Jake Miller in the San Fernando Valley itself, Buck Angel began his gender transition in 1990 and entered adult film in 2004, becoming the first trans man featured in an all-male production by a major gay studio with Titan Media’s Cirque Noir in 2005. In 2007 he became the only trans man to win AVN’s Transsexual Performer of the Year. He built his own label, Buck Angel Entertainment, rather than working exclusively inside someone else’s system, and from around 2012 shifted his public work toward sex education, using the trademark phrase "the man with a pussy."

Signature: A San Fernando Valley native who took the Valley’s studio model and rebuilt it around his own name and his own niche, years before "personal brand" was standard industry vocabulary.

Why Lola is included

Taylor’s 2018 Best Piercing win is the earliest result in this category that could be confirmed against a source this site accepts, and it sits on a record that is unusual quite apart from the award.

Born Lyubov Bushueva in Ishim, she worked as a librarian and a massage therapist before entering the industry, published a first-person book about the work in 2017 while she was still doing it, started an escort-service venture in 2020, and announced in 2023 that she intended to leave.

Almost nobody in any market has written their own account of the job and then acted on their own conclusions, which makes her the one person here whose relationship to self-documentation is the substance of the career rather than a detail attached to it. She is ranked in full on our Russian pornstars page.

The case against: The same limit applies as to the award itself: the category recognises piercing in general, and a fan vote is not a jury. Her own record also carries an unresolved disagreement about when she started — this site says around 2013, Russian-language sources say around 2011 — which is flagged on her profile rather than settled, and her status since the 2023 exit statement is genuinely unclear, with at least one source reporting her still filming afterwards.

Why Shyla is included

Stylez is the strongest trade-press case here, and the most instructive one. Her answers in an AVN profile published in May 2010 are given in her own first-person voice throughout, and the piercings line is one of them: ears and navel, and she had had her nipples pierced but it did not last very long.

That is a performer describing her own body, dated, in the industry’s largest trade publication. Her career record is heavy and entirely separate from any of this: born Amanda Hardy in Armstrong, British Columbia, a debut in 2001 under an exclusive Jill Kelly Productions contract, an Urban X Hall of Fame induction in 2011 and an AVN Hall of Fame induction in 2016, and a retirement around 2016. She died in November 2017, aged thirty-five. She is ranked in full on our big ass pornstars page.

The case against: Two cautions, one of them about other people’s sourcing. Her sentence surfaces in search results attached to a dozen other AVN pages published the same week, including profiles of performers it has nothing to do with, because of a sidebar template on that site repeating it. Anyone building a list from search snippets will therefore attribute it to the wrong people, and several published lists appear to have done exactly that. The second caution is her own: she is describing something that ended, more than fifteen years before this edition, and has not been able to correct anyone since 2017.

Why Derrick is included

Pierce is the clearest case in the whole subject, and the reason is that he did not mention a piercing in passing — he built a professional identity on it and then explained the decision on the record.

Asked in a trade interview published in August 2015 how he chose the name, he answered that he wanted something strong and straightforward, that he had nipple and tongue piercings at the time, and that this is where "Pierce" came from; the first name was an ex-girlfriend’s suggestion.

The rest of the record has nothing to do with piercing and is strong anyway: sixteen years as a certified personal trainer and martial arts instructor before a 2005 debut in Gothsend 4 — the career our fit pornstars ranking covers in full — then NightMoves Best Male Performer in 2009 and an XRCO Best Actor win in 2016 for Magic Mike XXXL.

He is also the answer to an assumption this search term carries, which is that a page about pierced nipples must be a page about women.

The case against: He said "at the time", and the tense matters. The statement fixes a fact to the moment he chose the name, more than twenty years ago, and nothing on the record says whether he still wears them. This page treats that as the honest limit of a first-person statement rather than a flaw in it.

Career

Pierce worked as a certified personal trainer and martial arts instructor for sixteen years before entering adult film around 2005, debuting in Gothsend 4. His award record across AVN, XBIZ, XRCO and NightMoves totals six wins and thirty-seven nominations, including the 2009 NightMoves Award for Best Male Performer and the 2016 XRCO Award for Best Actor for Magic Mike XXXL: A Hardcore Parody. Wikipedia’s own AVN Hall of Fame list page additionally credits him with a 2022 induction; that page itself flags the entry "citation needed," so it is treated here as a real but not independently confirmed addition. In May 2008 he co-hosted Playboy Radio’s "The Friday Night Threeway" alongside performer Kylie Ireland.

Signature: Sixteen years of documented, certified training work before the camera — the longest pre-industry fitness career of anyone in this field — backed by a real, multi-body award record once he was in front of it.

Definitions

Two kinds of evidence, and why the roster is bigger than either alone

Two evidence paths make the tattooed pornstars ranking publishable. The first is explicit text: a performer described as tattooed in prose, in a source with a name and a date on it. The second is a trait-specific award — NightMoves has run a "Best Ink" category since 2013, and the Inked Awards have run since 2012 as a ceremony built entirely around tattooed performers, so a win in either is somebody outside the performer’s own marketing confirming the trait. The first edition of this page looked for the same two paths on the piercing side and initially concluded piercing had neither. It reached that conclusion by looking only at encyclopaedias, and both halves of it turn out to be wrong.

Start with the half that is still right, because it is worth keeping. The encyclopaedic record on this trait genuinely is empty, and that finding was re-run rather than assumed. The body-modification property covering people recorded as adult performers is in active use — it carries navel, tongue, nose and unspecified body piercings for a handful of named individuals — and it records nipple piercings for nobody at all. A full-text search inside the main category of American performers returns no nipple-piercing prose. The article on the practice itself maintains a list of notable wearers whose entire purpose is to name documented cases, and every person in it is a mainstream musician. If encyclopaedias were the only source, four of the thirteen names on this page would still be unreachable.

They are not the only source, and the place this subject actually lives is the interview. The most productive format turns out to be a specific and now largely extinct one: the trade-magazine questionnaire column, where a performer is handed a fixed list of fields — where you are from, what you did before, tattoos and piercings — and the answers run in her own quoted voice. Searching the largest trade publication’s archive for those columns and for the piercing vocabulary generally, across roughly 2,270 documents, produced five statements; the enthusiast interview archives, where an interviewer simply asks, produced most of the rest. Fifteen such statements were recovered in total and every one of them was read on the page rather than taken from a search result.

On the award, a correction from the first edition’s initial finding stands: a piercing category does exist. The Internet Adult Film Database’s Spank Bank Awards have run "Best Piercing", and two winners are carried in the encyclopaedia’s own award tables. It is a fan-voted award with no reachable archive, and this page says so every time it mentions it. It is also the only occasion on which anyone in this industry has judged piercing as a category in its own right.

None of that, on its own, reaches ten names — which is why this edition adds a third layer that the first edition did not use: how the industry itself groups performers. The tattooed pornstars page already runs on this logic for the ink side of the same subject, admitting performers on the strength of a body-modification award or a studio built around the alt-porn aesthetic rather than requiring an individual quote from every name. This page now applies the identical standard to the piercing side, which is what brings Stoya, Bonnie Rotten, Joanna Angel, Small Hands, Allie Haze, Kleio Valentien, Romi Rain and Christy Mack onto the roster. It is reporting how the industry categorises a public professional, not a measurement or a description of anyone’s body, and the page says so plainly rather than blurring the two kinds of evidence together.

TermWhat it meansHow it differs
A first-person statementThe performer’s own account, in an interview, a column, her own site or her own account: which piercing, when, why, and whether she still has it.Not the same as a piercing a reader can see. One is a published fact about a person; the other is an observation about an image, and this site does not publish anyone’s height or eye colour on that basis either.
Best Piercing (Spank Bank Awards)A fan-voted category run by the Internet Adult Film Database. Two winners are documented in encyclopaedia award tables, in 2018 and 2020.Not comparable in weight to NightMoves’ Best Ink or the Inked Awards, which have published winner tables and industry standing — but the same kind of signal, and the only one this specific trait has ever had.
An industry-wide body-modification categoryA studio, an award, or a studio’s own marketing that groups performers under an alt-porn or body-modification identity — BurningAngel.com, NightMoves’ Best Ink, the Inked Awards, or a headline "alt-porn" contract billing. Not a claim about any one person’s specific piercing. It is a documented fact about how the industry classifies a career, and this page treats it as membership evidence the same way the tattooed pornstars page already does.
Body modification as a recorded propertyA live, community-maintained field recording deliberate non-medical alterations for people whose listed occupation is adult performer. Navel, tongue, nose and unspecified body piercings all appear in it.Not an empty or unused field, which is what makes its zero nipple-piercing count meaningful rather than a coverage accident.
A tube-site "pierced" tagA label applied by whoever uploaded or catalogued one video, describing that footage at that moment. Not a durable fact about a person. It is the only input most competing lists under this term have, and it is weaker here than almost anywhere, because the jewellery comes out.
Context

A well-documented practice with a barely documented cast

Pre-modern

Scattered records, most of them shakier than they are usually presented

Nipple piercing has been practised in various cultures — male piercing reported among the Karankawa, female piercing practised by the Kabyle of Algeria. The Western claim usually cited first is the anthropologist Hans Peter Duerr’s tracing of the practice as a fashion statement to the court of Isabeau of Bavaria, queen consort of France from 1385, where diamond-studded rings and small caps were reportedly worn. The encyclopaedia’s own article says plainly of these sources that they are "difficult to verify", and this page repeats that caveat rather than laundering the claim into a clean fact the way most pages under this keyword do.

1890s

The Victorian fashion that appears not to have happened

The single most repeated line in every article about this subject is that pierced nipples were a fashion among English society women around 1890. The historian Lesley Hall has traced that story to a small number of letters published in the magazine Society during 1899 and judged them erotic fantasies rather than accounts of real practice. It is a useful reminder for anyone reading a list under this term: the genre has been recycling an unverified claim for over a century, and the modern lists apply exactly the same standard of proof to living people.

1970s–1980s

Jim Ward, the leather scene, and the first performer on record

The modern practice dates to the late 1970s, revived by Jim Ward and adopted within the BDSM and leather subcultures of the gay community — a documented lineage, unlike the Victorian story. Through the 1980s and early 1990s the modern primitive movement, rooted on the American West Coast, took nipple piercing up alongside other practices. The adult industry of that period produced the earliest first-person statement this page could find anywhere: a golden-age performer, interviewed decades later by a film-history archive, describing having had her nipples pierced and noting that she had never seen anyone else in films do it. She is named further down, because this site has no profile for her yet.

1990s–2000s

Mainstream visibility arrives through music, and a performer takes his name from it

The encyclopaedia attributes the practice’s mainstream popularity partly to 1990s musicians — Tommy Lee, Corey Taylor, Lenny Kravitz — who displayed or discussed their piercings publicly. The pattern held into the 2000s: the documented, named wearers are pop and rock performers, and the single largest moment of public attention the practice has ever received was the nipple shield exposed during the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show in 2004. Adult film ran a parallel alt-aesthetic history over the same years — SuicideGirls in 2001, BurningAngel in 2002 — and it is in exactly this period that Derrick Pierce, debuting in 2005, took a stage name from his own piercings, and that Shyla Stylez, who debuted in 2001, later described hers to a trade magazine.

2010s–2026

Censorship makes the trait more visible and less citable at the same time

The 2010s pushed the subject in two directions at once. Mainstream platforms police nipples specifically, so jewellery worn there is among the first things a performer’s public, indexable profiles cannot show, and the trait retreats to paywalled surfaces where nobody is writing sourced biography. Meanwhile the interview archives kept doing their job: most of the first-person statements behind this page were given between 2013 and 2025, and the most recent belongs to a performer who had hers done the day before she sat down for the interview. The one formally published record of the period is a fan-voted award, won in 2018 and 2020. The amount of material a reader can see has gone up enormously; the amount anyone can cite has grown slowly and only in one place.

Editorial process

Documented, and still not on the list

This is the more useful half of the page. Two performers carried on the roster in the first edition, and eleven more who gave a first-person statement that clears the same bar, are named here rather than on the list above — the first two purely because this site has no photograph for either yet, the other eleven because building a profile record for them inside the same edition that would then present them is the padding this programme’s standard warns against. They are named here with what each of them actually said, so a future edition can be built around them. Below that are the names that circulate under this term and do not clear either this page’s Tier 1 evidence bar or its Tier 2 industry-categorisation bar, with the specific reason in each case.

A documented statement on the record, held off the roster by the photo rule or by having no profile at all

KK
Karmen Karma

Karma belongs here twice over on the evidence and is missing only a photograph. She was asked directly in a March 2013 interview how many piercings she was wearing and answered plainly: her nipples, her navel, stretched ears and snake bites. She has since become known for describing her own body publicly in general — she told the Daily Beast why she got breast implants early in her career and later why she had them removed, after matching her own symptoms to breast implant illness following a textured-implant recall. She has a profile in this site’s performer store, so the only thing keeping her off the roster above is that no portrait exists for her yet; the day one does, she rejoins it.

Ashli Orion
Ashli Orion

Orion also has a profile in the performer store and is held off the roster by the same photo rule alone. Returning to the industry in 2023 after several years away, she volunteered, unprompted, that she had once let someone pierce her nipples. Her verifiable public record otherwise consists of a shared 2010 Urban X Best Interracial Star award, the only tie in that category’s history, taken jointly with Katie Kox.

CC
Cris Cassidy

The earliest statement found anywhere in this subject, and by some distance the most historically interesting. A golden-age performer of the 1970s and early 1980s, credited in Candy Stripers and Sadie, interviewed at length by a film-history archive in May 2024. Asked about breast implants, she volunteered that she later had her nipples pierced as well, and added that she had never seen anyone else in films do it — a first-person account of the trait from the exact period when the modern practice was being revived in the leather and BDSM subcultures. She has no profile in this site’s store, which is why she is not on the roster above.

AQ
Asher Quinn

Interviewed in November 2023 as a newcomer with more than two hundred tattoos, she said she had had her nipples pierced the previous day, described the experience as incredible, warned anyone not looking for that aesthetic off it, and said she loved them to pieces. She also mentioned a recent tongue piercing. It is the most immediate first-person statement in this research — the trait documented within twenty-four hours of the decision — and there is no profile here to attach it to.

TN
Taylor Nicole

Asked directly in a January 2025 interview about her two nipple piercings and whether they hurt, she answered that all four were done at once, that it was awful, that she had had her nipples pierced once before and taken them out, and that she chose the arrangement after seeing a photograph of someone with a similar design. It is the most detailed answer of the set, and the clearest illustration of why a piercing is a decision with a history rather than a fact about a body.

S
Scar13

The most complete self-description of the set, and the only one where the performer states the piercings as current at the time of writing. Answering a trade publication’s standing "tattoos and piercings" question in a signed profile interview, she describes six small bats tattooed on her right arm and one across her shoulder blades that moves when she dances, a quantity of scarring, and her nipples, navel and tongue all currently pierced. The profile carries no publication date, which is the only weakness in it.

MT
Manuel Torres and Matt Cole

Two male performers, documented the same way and a year apart, in the same trade questionnaire column. Torres answered the tattoos-and-piercings field in May 2005 by saying one nipple is pierced, and describing a dragon-in-flames tattoo on his left arm. Cole answered it in April 2006 with three tattoos and one nipple piercing. Both are quoted questionnaire responses in their own voices.

MA
Mona Azar

Describing an adolescent phase in a December 2021 interview, she said she had had piercings all over, including her neck and her nipples, before she was even eighteen, and that her parents wanted her to go to therapy when they found out. A first-person statement about her own past, clearly dated to a period she names.

AH
Aaliyah Hadid

Explaining in a June 2017 interview why she wanted breast implants, she described her pre-augmentation body and said she just had nipples with nipple rings. Volunteered rather than asked for, and a good example of how often this trait turns up inside an answer about something else entirely.

AC
Anna Chambers

In a July 2021 interview she described having had little nipple piercings while she was working as a stripper, in the course of a story about a heckler and an outfit. Again a past-tense statement, again offered inside an answer about something else.

MM
Mila Marie

Asked in a March 2023 interview what she likes, she said her nipples are extremely sensitive and that she used to have them pierced. Short, unambiguous, first-person and past-tense.

KD
Kayla-Jane Danger

The closest thing found to a body-modification persona described by the performer herself. She recounted stretching her ears at fourteen or fifteen after finding a body-modification community online, getting in trouble for piercing her own lip, and having her nipples pierced after she turned eighteen, alongside several other piercings she says she loved. The interview carries no year and has no archived copy, so it could not be dated.

AV
Ada Vera

The weakest of the set and included for completeness. She told a trade magazine in October 2020 about walking into a tattoo parlour on her eighteenth birthday, finding every artist busy, refusing to waste the fare she had spent getting there, and settling for "the next best thing" — which the writer then identifies as two nipple piercings. The story is hers and the identification is his, so this is a case where the performer plainly is describing her own piercings but the words naming them are not hers.

Circulates under this term, and does not clear either evidence bar

Leigh Raven

The most painful exclusion here, and the one most worth explaining. Trade press reported under a named byline in June 2018 that she has a surgically altered forked tongue and nipple piercings, in a story about her becoming the first heavily tattooed centrefold any of the three big adult magazines had run; in the same piece she calls herself, in her own words, that magazine’s first heavily modified cover girl. But the self-description and the piercing detail are two different sentences by two different people, and a full interview she gave a tattoo magazine the following year about being heavily tattooed in this industry does not mention nipple piercings anywhere. She also has no profile here, so she clears neither this page’s Tier 1 bar nor its Tier 2 bar, which requires a documented industry credential of her own rather than a single unconfirmed detail in someone else’s reporting. Both problems are fixable and both should be fixed.

Naomi Blue

Published here as an explicit denial, because it is more instructive than most of the confirmations. She has said on the record that her pen name was nearly "Naomi Pierce" and that she went with something else because she does not have her nipples pierced. Anyone building a list from stage names, or from the assumption that an alt-looking performer must have the trait, gets her wrong in the most direct way possible.

Rachel Roxxx, Melissa Lauren, Jordy Love, Stella Raee, Trina Rush, Melody Parker and Lyra Lockhart

Seven performers whose nipple piercings are stated in a trade publication’s own editorial bio copy or in a writer’s narration — "has both nipples pierced", "her nipples are pierced", "piercings on her ears, belly button and nipples". That is a magazine describing a performer, not a performer describing herself, and none of the seven holds a body-modification award or an alt-studio credential that would clear this page’s industry-categorisation bar either. If any of these seven has said it in her own words somewhere, or holds a documented alt-porn credential, she belongs on the list.

Scarlet Chase and Velvet Summers

Two variants of the same problem, forty years apart. A 2022 trade item about an Evil Angel release quotes a studio representative describing nipple piercings on screen — marketing copy about footage, written by someone selling it. A golden-age director, interviewed by a film-history archive, says of a performer that she had just had her nipple pierced so they put it in the movie. Both are third parties, and in the second case the person being described never got to answer.

Performers whose piercings are documented, but not these ones

The body-modification property for this population records a tongue, a navel and a wrist for one performer, a nose for another, and navel piercings for two more. Those are real, sourced, checkable piercing facts about real people. None of them is a nipple piercing, and stretching "documented as pierced" into "documented as having this piercing" is a substitution this page avoids.

More than seventy further names, and anyone whose only evidence is a picture

Over seventy performers were checked individually — the whole visible alt and fetish end of the industry, the male and trans cohorts, and the golden-age and 1990s names most often attached to this term — and produced nothing but tube-site tags, photo galleries, database body-art fields, studio press releases and unsourced list articles, with no piercing-specific award and no alt-studio founding credential to fall back on either. A further thirteen appear only in release copy written by the studios selling the scenes. A reader can look at an image and reach a confident conclusion in a second, and might well be right. This site does not publish a claim about anyone’s height, eye colour or birthplace on that basis and does not make an exception for a piercing because it happens to be visible.

Four memoirs that could not be searched, and one unresolved answer

Honesty about what was not checked. Four performer memoirs could not be searched in full text because the services that hold them refused the request, so they are unresolved rather than cleared. And in a verified 2011 AMA, Stoya was asked directly whether her nipples are pierced; her reply could not be recovered from a thread of several thousand comments. That is why her place on the roster above rests on the documented "alt-porn" contract fact rather than on a first-person statement — none of this is evidence either way on the statement question, and it is recorded here so nobody mistakes an unchecked source for a checked one.

Background

Where the other lists under this term come from

Readers arriving at this keyword are looking at aggregator category pages, not sourced articles. Understanding how those pages are generated explains both why they are long and why this one is built the way it is.

The lists are tag-derived, and the tag describes a video

Where a "pierced" category exists on a content platform, it is applied by an uploader or a cataloguer to a specific clip. A tag on one video describes that footage at that moment; it is not a fact about a person, and it is the only input most of these lists have. That is the same objection our short hair page makes about hairstyle tags, and it lands harder here for the reason in the next item.

The jewellery comes out, which is why a statement beats an observation

A tattoo is permanent and a piercing is not. Jewellery can be worn for one shoot and not the next, removed on a producer’s instruction, swapped for a substitute that pierces nothing, or retired entirely, and an empty piercing closes. One performer on this page told a trade magazine that hers "didn’t last very long"; another described taking hers out and planning to have them redone. Any claim about a living person’s piercing is therefore a claim about a moment, and the only honest way to fix that moment is to have the person tell you when it was.

Sourcing lists from search results gets the attribution wrong

One of the statements behind this page — a performer telling a trade magazine in 2010 that she had had her nipples pierced but that it did not last — is reproduced by a sidebar template against roughly a dozen unrelated profiles published on that site the same week. Anyone assembling a list from search snippets rather than from the page will credit that sentence to performers it has nothing to do with, and some published lists appear to have done so. It is the most concrete argument available for opening the page before citing it.

The format that documented this trait has largely disappeared

Almost every first-person statement behind this page comes from one of two places: an enthusiast interview archive where somebody simply asks, or a trade-magazine questionnaire column of the kind the industry ran through the 2000s — a fixed list of fields, one of which was tattoos and piercings, answered in the performer’s own quoted voice. Those columns are how two male performers, a fetish performer and a Hall of Fame inductee all ended up on the record about their own piercings between 2005 and 2010. The trade press that replaced them does not ask: a full sweep of the second-largest trade publication’s archive, 778 articles matching the piercing vocabulary, contains not one first-person statement.

There is an award, and it is worth exactly what it is worth

The Spank Bank Awards’ Best Piercing category is real, published and third-party, and this page uses it. It is also fan-voted, has no reachable archive, and does not distinguish which piercing it is recognising. Naming it accurately in both directions is the point: an award that exists should not be denied because it is small, and a small award should not be dressed up as something it is not.

A photograph is now required to be listed here, but it is not evidence

Every name on this page has a portrait in this site’s image store, because a roster of coloured monograms reads as broken and the owner wants this page illustrated like every other one on the site. That is a publishing rule, not a research method: nobody’s inclusion rests on what an image shows, and this page still does not describe any named person’s body in its own words. Two performers carried in the first edition — Karmen Karma and Ashli Orion — have a documented statement but no photograph yet, and they wait in the near-miss section rather than appear without one.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which pornstars have pierced nipples?

Thirteen names are presented on this page, ordered by measured popularity rather than ranked by a score: Stoya, Bonnie Rotten, Allie Haze, Joanna Angel, Romi Rain, Ella Hughes, Christy Mack, Small Hands, Kleio Valentien, Buck Angel, Lola Taylor, Shyla Stylez and Derrick Pierce. Four carry direct piercing-specific evidence — a personal statement or a Best Piercing award win. The other nine are performers the industry’s alt and body-modification marketing already presents as a group, which is the same standard our tattooed pornstars page uses on the ink side of this subject.

Why do some of these performers not have their own piercing statement?

Because membership on this page no longer requires one. The site’s previous rule was that only a performer’s own quote, or a piercing-specific award win, could put someone on this list, and that produced six names. The current rule follows how the adult industry itself categorises performers — through body-modification awards, alt-porn studios and marketing — the same way our tattooed pornstars page already does. Nine names here qualify that way rather than through an individual statement, and the page says so for each one.

Where did you find the statements?

Mostly in two places. The first is the trade-magazine questionnaire column of the kind the industry ran through the 2000s, where a performer answered a fixed list of fields — including tattoos and piercings — in her own quoted voice; those columns account for the male performers here and for the earliest results. The second is the enthusiast interview archives, where an interviewer simply asks. Around 2,270 documents from the largest trade publication’s archive were searched, and the second-largest was swept exhaustively at 778 articles and turned up nothing at all, because its interview columns never ask the question.

Is there really an award for piercing?

Yes. The Internet Adult Film Database’s Spank Bank Awards have run a Best Piercing category; Lola Taylor won it in 2018 and Ella Hughes in 2020, both documented in encyclopaedia award tables. It is fan-voted and has no archive anyone can open, so it carries nothing like the weight of the tattoo-specific categories, and the full winner series could not be recovered.

Why can this site rank ten tattooed pornstars but list thirteen pierced ones?

Both pages now use the same two kinds of evidence. Tattoos have prose descriptions and dedicated award categories with published winner tables — NightMoves’ Best Ink since 2013 and the Inked Awards since 2012. Piercing has one small fan-voted award and a scatter of interviews, so this page also draws on the broader industry categorisation that groups tattooed and pierced performers together under one alt-porn identity, which is why several names appear on both pages.

Is the body-modification record just empty?

No, and that is what makes the gap meaningful rather than a coverage accident. For people recorded as adult performers the field holds dozens of statements across a dozen values, including four different kinds of piercing — navel, tongue, nose and unspecified. Editors are actively using it, and using it for piercings. The nipple count is zero, and it was re-checked for this edition.

Does a photograph count as evidence of a piercing?

No. Every name on this page now carries a portrait, because this site illustrates every roster it publishes and a page of coloured monograms reads as broken. That is a publishing requirement, not a research method: nobody is listed because of what an image shows, and this page does not describe anyone’s body in its own words. Two performers with a documented statement, Karmen Karma and Ashli Orion, do not have a photograph yet and are named in the near-miss section instead.

Do the people on this list still have their piercings?

In several cases, no, and the page says so rather than tidying it away. One performer told a trade magazine that hers did not last very long; the male performer with a personal statement described the piercings he had when he chose his name more than twenty years ago. A piercing is removable in a way a tattoo is not, so every honest individual claim about one is a claim about a moment. The industry-categorisation names on this page are not claimed to have a nipple piercing at all — they are here because of how the industry markets their broader body-modification image, which this page states plainly rather than implying otherwise.

Does a tube-site "pierced" category count as documentation?

No. It is applied by whoever uploaded or catalogued one video and describes that footage. Jewellery is removable, so a tag can be accurate for a single scene and wrong about the person generally — a weaker basis even than the hairstyle tags discussed on our short hair pornstars page.

Were pierced nipples really a Victorian fashion?

Almost certainly not. The claim appears on nearly every page that discusses the subject, but the historian Lesley Hall traced it to a handful of letters printed in the magazine Society during 1899 and judged them erotic fantasy rather than description of anything real. The earlier claim about the court of Isabeau of Bavaria is described even by the encyclopaedia as difficult to verify.

Where does modern nipple piercing come from, then?

The documented modern revival dates to the late 1970s and is credited to Jim Ward, spreading through the BDSM and leather subcultures of the gay community and then through the modern primitive movement of the 1980s and early 1990s. Mainstream visibility came in the 1990s largely through musicians who displayed or discussed their own. The earliest first-person statement from inside this industry that this page could find comes from a golden-age performer describing the same period.

Has anyone said they do not have them?

Yes, and it is published here alongside the confirmations. Naomi Blue has said on the record that her pen name was nearly built around piercing and that she chose something else because she does not have her nipples pierced. Anyone assembling a list from stage names or from a general impression of somebody’s look gets her wrong immediately.

Is this only about women?

No. Three names on this page are men or a trans man: Derrick Pierce, who took his stage name from his own nipple and tongue piercings; Small Hands, who built his career inside the alt-porn studio Burning Angel; and Buck Angel, documented by his business partner’s on-the-record account. The search term assumes a female subject; the record does not support that assumption.

Will this page ever become a numbered ranking?

It already orders its thirteen names by real signals — measured demand, then award count, then career length — rather than by evidence type, but it still presents rather than scores them against each other, the same way the tattooed pornstars page presents several of the same names. Eleven further performers already clear this page’s statement-based evidence bar and are missing only a profile and a photograph on this site; once those exist, this page has more names to draw a fuller ranking from.

How this page was researched

This page publishes no ranking, so the Performer Index was not applied to it. It is sourced and corrected to the same standard as every ranking on this site — the difference is that the finding here is a documented absence rather than an order. The full rubric, including who is excluded from a ranking and why, is published on the Ranking methodology page.

The previous edition of this page stopped there, on the theory that nothing short of a performer’s own quote could put anyone on the list. That produced six names and no pictures, and the site owner rejected the result: the industry already sorts performers into a body-piercing and body-modification category the same way it sorts them into every other marketable trait this site ranks, and this page should follow that category the way our tattooed pornstars page already follows the ink side of the same subject. A performer belongs there because a trade award or the industry’s own alt-porn marketing says so, not because of a private reading of a photograph — and that is now the rule here too.

Thirteen names result. Four carry the direct, piercing-specific evidence recovered for the first edition, preserved below in full. Nine more are performers the industry’s alt and body-modification side already presents as a group — most already ranked on other pages on this site, which is exactly why they have the photographs and the measured audience this edition needed. Every name below has a portrait on file; two names from the first edition do not yet and have moved to the near-miss section rather than being dropped.

⚠︎

Before you publish this page: This page uses two kinds of evidence. The first is a documented, piercing-specific credential: a performer’s own public statement about her or his piercings, a win in the one piercing-specific award this industry has run, or, in one case, a named, dated, on-the-record account from someone else in the industry. Four names carry this evidence. Derrick Pierce and Shyla Stylez each described their own nipple piercings in a trade interview, read in full rather than off a search snippet — Pierce in an August 2015 interview explaining his stage surname, Stylez in a May 2010 AVN profile. Ella Hughes and Lola Taylor hold documented Best Piercing wins at the Internet Adult Film Database’s fan-voted Spank Bank Awards, in 2020 and 2018. Buck Angel is added on a named business partner’s on-the-record account of piercing him, published in a 2024 release Angel co-signed — a named claim, not Angel’s own words, and this page says so rather than upgrading it. The second kind of evidence, added in this edition, is how the industry itself categorises a performer: award ceremonies built specifically around body-modification work (NightMoves’ Best Ink, the Inked Awards), a studio built specifically around the alt-porn aesthetic (BurningAngel.com), or a headline contract a studio itself billed as its first "alt-porn" signing. Nine names carry this kind of evidence — Stoya, Bonnie Rotten, Joanna Angel, Small Hands, Allie Haze, Kleio Valentien, Romi Rain and Christy Mack — and it is the same standard that already builds the tattooed pornstars page. Thirteen names in total are ordered by measured branded search demand first (only Stoya clears this site’s 501-per-month floor, at 720), then by documented award count, then by documented career length. Every name carries a portrait in this site’s image store; two names presented in the first edition, Karmen Karma and Ashli Orion, do not yet have one and are named instead in the near-miss section below with the statement each of them gave. The encyclopaedic picture behind the four Tier 1 names was re-checked rather than assumed: the body-modification property covering people recorded as adult performers carries navel, tongue, nose and unspecified body piercings for a handful of individuals and nipple piercings for nobody, a full-text search inside the main category of American performers returns no nipple-piercing prose, and the article on the practice itself lists five mainstream musicians as its notable wearers and no adult performer. Four performer memoirs could not be searched in full text and are unresolved rather than cleared. Nobody’s inclusion on this page rests on a photograph, a measurement, or a description of anyone’s body in this page’s own words — only on a documented statement, a documented award, or a documented industry category.

Corrections and update log

Factual corrections are made within 48 hours of verification and logged, dated and described at the foot of the article. Changes to the scoring model itself are logged the same way - when we found that Lifetime Achievement honours were being scored as Performer of the Year wins, we published the fix and the resulting rank changes rather than quietly re-running the build. What changed in this edition

  • Roster expanded from six names to thirteen, every one with a photograph, after the site owner withdrew the round-one rule that only a performer’s own quote could establish membership.
  • New membership rule: a performer belongs here if the adult industry itself markets and categorises her or him under body piercing and modification — the same standard that already builds our tattooed pornstars page — rather than any statement or measurement of our own.
  • Nine names added under that rule, all already documented elsewhere on this site: Stoya (Digital Playground’s own first "alt-porn" contract signing), Bonnie Rotten, Joanna Angel, Small Hands, Allie Haze, Kleio Valentien, Romi Rain and Christy Mack.
  • Buck Angel restored to the list. Round one excluded him because the only piercing claim on record is his business partner’s, not his own; the new rule accepts a named, dated, on-the-record industry account even when it is not the performer’s own sentence, and discloses the distinction rather than hiding it.
  • Order changed from evidence-path grouping to real popularity: measured branded search demand first (only Stoya clears the measurement floor, at 720), then documented award count, then documented career length.
  • noPhotos removed and every reference to withholding photographs rewritten. Every name now carries a portrait; two round-one names, Karmen Karma and Ashli Orion, do not have one yet and have moved to the near-miss list rather than the roster.
  • The underlying round-one research is unchanged and preserved in full in the file: fifteen first-person statements and one small industry award, recovered by sweeping trade-magazine questionnaire columns and enthusiast interview archives. The four strongest of those statements and wins remain the individually strongest cases on the page; the eleven performers who cleared the same bar but have no profile on this site yet are still named in the near-miss section below.

edition

Roster expanded from six presented names to thirteen, and noPhotos removed, after the site owner rejected a six-name page with no photographs. Membership now follows how the adult industry itself markets and categorises performers under body piercing and modification, the same standard already used by the tattooed pornstars page, rather than requiring an individual quote or award from every name. All thirteen names carry a portrait in this site’s image store.

Order changed from evidence-path grouping to real popularity: measured branded search demand first (Stoya at 720, the only name here that clears this site’s measurement floor), then documented award count, then documented career length.

addition

Nine names added under the new industry-categorisation standard, all already documented elsewhere on this site: Stoya, Bonnie Rotten, Joanna Angel, Small Hands, Allie Haze, Kleio Valentien, Romi Rain and Christy Mack.

correction

Buck Angel restored to the roster. The first edition excluded him because the only piercing claim on record — a named, dated account from his business partner in a 2024 product announcement — is not his own sentence. The new rule accepts a named, on-the-record industry account even when it is not the performer’s own words, and discloses the distinction rather than upgrading it.

2026-09-07
note

Karmen Karma and Ashli Orion moved from the presented roster to the near-miss section. Both have a first-person piercing statement and a record in this site’s performer store, but neither has a photograph yet, which is now a hard filter on this page’s roster.

2026-09-06
edition

Rebuilt from a page that named nobody into one that presents six documented people, on two inclusion paths: the performer’s own public statement about their own piercings, or a documented win in the industry’s only piercing-specific award category.

2026-09-06
sourcing

Fifteen first-person statements recovered, every one read on the page rather than from a search result. Four belong to performers with a profile on this site; eleven are named in the near-miss section, including a golden-age performer interviewed by a film-history archive in May 2024 who described nipple piercings she had in the 1970s and noted she had never seen anyone else in films with them, and two male performers documented in a trade questionnaire column in 2005 and 2006.

2026-09-06
sourcing

The productive source format identified and swept: the trade-magazine questionnaire column whose tattoos-and-piercings field is answered in the performer’s own quoted voice. Roughly 2,270 documents from the largest trade publication’s archive were searched. The second-largest trade publication was swept exhaustively — 778 articles matching the piercing vocabulary, every one fetched and read — and holds no first-person statement at all, a clean negative rather than a gap in the search.

2026-09-06
note

Buck Angel checked and initially left off despite having a profile here, because a named first-hand claim by somebody else was treated as insufficient under that edition’s rule. Reversed 2026-09-07 — see above.

2026-09-06
correction

This page previously stated that no piercing award has ever existed. That was wrong. The Internet Adult Film Database’s Spank Bank Awards have run a Best Piercing category, with two winners carried in encyclopaedia award tables: Lola Taylor in 2018 and Ella Hughes in 2020. The full winner series could not be recovered because the database and the film listing site that hold it both refuse automated retrieval, and it is not guessed at here.

2026-09-06
correction

An attribution error corrected that appears to have spread through several published lists. A 2010 trade-magazine sentence in which one performer says she had had her nipples pierced but that it did not last is reproduced by a sidebar template against roughly a dozen unrelated profiles from the same week on that site. It belongs to Shyla Stylez and to nobody else.

2026-09-06
sourcing

Derrick Pierce verified against the underlying interview rather than the encyclopaedia’s paraphrase of it: the trade interview of 20 August 2015 was read in full, and his answer is that he wanted a name that was strong and straightforward, that he had nipple and tongue piercings at the time, and that this is where "Pierce" came from. The past tense is preserved everywhere on this page.

2026-09-06
sourcing

Every negative finding from the previous edition re-run and confirmed unchanged — the body-modification property still records navel, tongue, nose and unspecified piercings for this population and no nipple piercings; the encyclopaedia’s full text still documents no nipple piercing for any performer; the article on the practice still names five mainstream musicians and no performer.

2026-09-06
note

What was not checked is recorded on the page as well: four performer memoirs could not be searched in full text because the services holding them refused the requests, and one performer’s answer to a direct question about her piercings could not be recovered from a very large 2011 discussion thread. Unresolved, not disproven.
