Pornstar Ranked

Short Hair Pornstars: Who Is Actually Pictured This Way

Hair colour and hair length feel like the same kind of fact, and for this population they are not. Wikidata carries a "hair colour" statement, each one with its own citation, for thousands of adult performers — the real, checkable data this programme's red hair pornstars and blonde pornstars rankings are built on.

Wikidata's separate "hairstyle" property returns zero results for the same population, and an exhaustive full-text search of English Wikipedia's article prose, run for this page's prior edition, found only two performers with a hairstyle claim written directly into their own article.

That is still true, and Prince Yahshua and François Sagat, the two names that search turned up, are still on this page.

Presented, not ranked

Ten performers, pictured or documented with a short, shaved or undercut hairstyle

None of the ten below is scored or ordered against the others by this site's usual six-pillar rubric — a companion roster like this one presents real, checkable cases rather than re-running a ranking better done elsewhere. All ten are already ranked and fully scored on a sibling page in this programme, on the strength of their career and award record; each entry below names that page and links to it, and none of those ten performer records is redefined here.

The order below is a real ranking of a different kind: none of these ten performers has measured branded search demand on this site, so the order follows this programme's stated fallback, documented award count, breaking ties by documented career length. Bonnie Rotten's eleven confirmed awards put her first; Dylan Ryan and François Sagat, with one apiece, close the list, with Sagat's longer and still-active career placing him just ahead.

Not scored, not counted in any ItemList, and not compared against a field of other short-hair performers by this site's usual rubric — presented as ten real, individually documented cases instead.

Why Bonnie is included

Not ranked here — presented as this page's clearest current case. This site's own red-carpet photographs of Bonnie Rotten, taken across her most publicly visible years, consistently show a short, chin-length waved bob rather than the long hair typical of most performers on this roster — a look distinct enough from her tattooed, alt-leaning image that it reads as a deliberate styling choice rather than an incidental one.

Her full award record and career detail, including a AVN Female Performer of the Year win at twenty and eleven confirmed awards altogether, are scored in full on our tattooed pornstars ranking and are not repeated here.

The case against: This page has no interview or public statement from her about the choice of length, only the consistent photographic record — and a bob is a shorter cut than most of this roster, not the shortest one on it.
Career and credits

Career

Rotten entered the industry in early 2012, at eighteen, as a fetish model and feature dancer. Two years later she became the first performer from the alt or tattooed end of the business to take AVN Female Performer of the Year, and in January 2014 she launched her own production company, Mental Beauty, Inc., directing for Girlfriends Films and Digital Playground. She released a product line with Pipedream in 2015, ran a tattoo shop between 2017 and 2018 and retired from performing in 2020. She appeared in The Weeknd’s Kiss Land video in 2013.

Signature: Proof that the category’s breakout window is not only for the girl-next-door marketing lane — she won the industry’s top female title on a heavily tattooed, explicitly alt persona.

Why Tristan is included

Not ranked here — presented because this site's own photographs of Tristan Taormino, taken years apart at industry and film-festival events, show the same short bob each time, which is a stronger case for a settled personal style than a single photo would be.

She worked in adult film as a director and performer for close to three decades, and her scored profile and full award record are ranked in full on our female pornstars ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: Both photographs this page could check are from the same event series (CineKink), years apart — a broader photographic record would make the "consistent style" claim stronger still.
Career and credits

Career

A Wesleyan University graduate who wrote the Village Voice sex column "Pucker Up" opposite Dan Savage from 1999 to 2008, Taormino moved into directing with a video adaptation of her own book The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women in 1999, then created the Chemistry series for Vivid Entertainment from 2006 — an explicitly unscripted format in which performers chose who they had sex with, and where, without a director dictating the scene. The format won Chemistry both an AVN Best Gonzo Release and a Feminist Porn Award in the same year, plus Adam Film World’s Best Couples Movie. She went on to create Vivid Ed, Vivid’s sex-education imprint, winning three consecutive AVN Best Educational Release awards, and has authored eight books on sexuality alongside a decade editing the annual Best Lesbian Erotica anthology. She identifies as queer and has been a visible advocate for polyamory and non-monogamy.

Signature: The clearest bridge on this list between the couples-market feature and the feminist-porn movement: Chemistry won a mainstream AVN category and a Feminist Porn Award in the same year for the same film.

Why Joanna is included

Not ranked here — presented as a different, narrower kind of case than the rest of this page. Joanna Angel's hair reads as long in every photograph this site holds of her, not short — but every one of those photographs also shows the same dyed, shaved undercut section at her temple, a deliberate, maintained styling choice rather than a passing look.

That is real short hair, worn as a visible accent rather than as the whole style, and it has stayed consistent across years of red carpet appearances. Her scored profile and full award record, including AVN Hall of Fame induction in 2016, are ranked in full on our American pornstar ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: Anyone searching "short hair pornstars" expecting a fully short cut will not find one here — this is a long-hair performer with a maintained shaved accent, and this page says so rather than rounding up.
Career and credits

Career

Joanna Angel, born Joanna Mostov in Brooklyn, co-founded BurningAngel.com with Mitch Fontaine in April 2002 while still a college student, building the site into what is widely credited as the company that made alt-porn commercially viable rather than a niche curiosity. She works as actress, director, writer and producer for her own label, and was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2016, confirmed on AVN’s own winners list, and the NightMoves Hall of Fame. A widely repeated claim — carried on her own Wikipedia biography — that she was also inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2016 does not appear anywhere on Wikipedia’s own curated list of XRCO Hall of Fame members, and the equivalent Wikidata statement carries no reference at all; it is not scored here.

Signature: Started a studio at nineteen with no outside backing and turned an entire aesthetic subculture into a durable, self-owned production company.

Why Christy is included

Not ranked here — presented on the same basis as Joanna Angel above: this site's own photograph of Christy Mack shows a clearly shaved section at the side of her head beneath a styled, voluminous top, a heavily tattooed alt-leaning look consistent with the rest of her public image.

Her scored profile and full record, including two 2014 newcomer titles, are ranked in full on our tattooed pornstars ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: This page could confirm the look in one photograph rather than a run of them across years, so it cannot say how long she kept it.
Career and credits

Career

Born Christine Mackinday, and given by English Wikipedia as born in 1991 or 1992 with a working period of 2011 to 2014 — a gap that guarantees a debut at eighteen or over on the year arithmetic alone. In the 2014 season, aged twenty-one or twenty-two, she took XBIZ Best New Starlet and AVN’s fan-voted Most Promising New Starlet, having launched her own site the year before. She left performing in 2014 and confirmed retirement publicly in April 2015. In 2016 she launched a clothing line with Pornhub to raise money for survivors of domestic violence. She was the victim of a violent assault by a former partner in August 2014; he was convicted of sexual assault and kidnapping and sentenced to life imprisonment with parole eligibility after thirty-six years.

Signature: Two newcomer titles in a single season three years after a verified adult debut, and — unusually for a career this short — a substantial second act built around a cause rather than a brand.

Why Prince is included

Not ranked here — presented as this page's most thoroughly documented case, carried over from this page's prior edition. Yahshua's own English Wikipedia article states plainly that "during his early work [he] first appeared with everyman features before undergoing a makeover, after which he shaved his head and built a 200 lb (91 kg) muscular physique."

That is a specific, sourced account of a deliberate look adopted partway through the two-decade career he began in 2004. His award record, including three straight Urban X Male Performer of the Year titles, is scored in full on our BBC porn star ranking and is not repeated here.

The case against: His Wikipedia article does not date the makeover to a specific year, only placing it after his "early work" — so this page can document that the look changed, but not exactly when.
Career and credits

Career

Yahshua debuted in 2004 at 34 and built a two-decade career centred on Urban X, the body founded specifically to recognise performers the mainstream AVN and XBIZ circuits under-covered — he took its Male Performer of the Year title three years running, 2010 through 2012, before XBIZ recognised him separately with a Performer Comeback of the Year award the same year. His own Wikipedia biography also references further AVN and XRCO scene-category recognition without naming specific titles or years, which is not counted in the record above. His career includes two documented on-set penile fracture injuries, in 2010 and 2013, the second requiring over $32,000 in medical treatment.

Signature: Three consecutive Male Performer of the Year titles from the award body built to fill the gap this article's own weighting adjustment is about — the single most concentrated recognition run of anyone on this list.

Why Skin is included

Not ranked here — presented specifically as the clearest example on this page of the point its intro makes about hairstyle: it changes within one career, not just between performers.

This site's own photographic record of Skin Diamond includes an earlier appearance with a shaved section at the side of her head, and later appearances with the longer style she has kept since — the same person, two different documented looks, years apart.

Her scored profile and full record are ranked in full on our ebony pornstar ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: This page cannot date the shaved-side photograph precisely or say how long that look lasted before she grew it out — only that both images exist in this site's own record.
Career and credits

Career

Born Raylin Christensen, of part-Ethiopian and part-European heritage (Danish, Czech, Yugoslavian, German), Skin Diamond worked as an alternative and fetish model before her 2009 adult-film debut. She won the Urban X Female Performer of the Year title in 2012 and three further AVN category wins in 2014–2015. She retired from adult film in 2016 to play Dylan Quinn in Showtime’s BDSM drama Submission and to pursue music, later fronting the reggae-punk band The Calamatix.

Signature: A performer whose own documented heritage — part-Ethiopian, part-European — sits awkwardly inside a single marketing tag, which is exactly the point this article makes about the word "ebony."

Why Buck is included

Not ranked here — presented as a grooming choice rather than a hair-loss case, which is the distinction this page has held to since its first edition (see the FAQ on Johnny Sins below).

Every photograph this site holds of Buck Angel, across two decades of public appearances, shows the same shaved head as part of a consistent rugged, tattooed persona rather than a documented balding account. His scored profile and full record are ranked in full on our American pornstar ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: This page has no direct quote from him stating the shaved head is a style choice rather than a grooming preference for baldness — the inference rests on the consistency of the image and the absence of any documented hair-loss account, not on a first-person statement.
Career and credits

Career

Born Jake Miller in the San Fernando Valley itself, Buck Angel began his gender transition in 1990 and entered adult film in 2004, becoming the first trans man featured in an all-male production by a major gay studio with Titan Media’s Cirque Noir in 2005. In 2007 he became the only trans man to win AVN’s Transsexual Performer of the Year. He built his own label, Buck Angel Entertainment, rather than working exclusively inside someone else’s system, and from around 2012 shifted his public work toward sex education, using the trademark phrase "the man with a pussy."

Signature: A San Fernando Valley native who took the Valley’s studio model and rebuilt it around his own name and his own niche, years before "personal brand" was standard industry vocabulary.

Their scored profile and full record are ranked in full on our lesbian pornstars ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: This page could confirm the look in one photograph rather than a run of them across years.
Career and credits

Career

Jiz Lee debuted in Shine Louise Houston’s The Crash Pad in 2005, the founding release of what became the queer-audience Crash Pad Series, and has worked since largely outside the mainstream AVN/XBIZ studio system — a Feminist Porn Award in 2010 and repeated AVN nominations for group and girl-girl scenes, without a competitive AVN or XBIZ win. Lee produces work under the name Karma Pervs to fundraise for reproductive health, LGBTQ support and sex workers’ rights, edited the 2016 essay collection Coming Out Like a Porn Star, and played a recurring role in the television series Transparent. Lee has stated directly: "My sexual orientation is queer; so is my gender," and uses they/them pronouns.

Signature: The performer whose career is most directly built on the distinction this article exists to make: work made for a queer audience, by a performer who has said, on the record, that they are queer — rather than an all-girl credit anyone else has read that meaning into.

Why François is included

Not ranked here — presented as this page's second most thoroughly documented case, carried over from this page's prior edition.

Sagat's own English Wikipedia article states he "is known for his distinctive scalp tattoo" — a scalp tattoo being, on its face, a claim that his scalp was bare at the point the tattoo was applied — corroborated independently by a second Wikipedia article.

His own awards table complicates a simple reading: the TLA Gay Awards gave him Best Hair, for himself, in 2015. His performing and directing record is scored in full on our gay pornstars ranking and is not repeated here.

The case against: This page cannot say which of the two documented facts describes his current look, or resolve why an award body gave a "Best Hair" win to a performer whose defining feature elsewhere is a tattooed bare scalp.
Career and credits

Career

Sagat performed his first adult scene at 25 under the name "Azzedine" for the French studio Citébeur, then moved to the United States and shot for Raging Stallion under his own name before becoming a Titan Media exclusive. He won GayVN Performer of the Year in 2007, and in October 2011 directed the two-part Incubus for TitanMen. From 2009 he crossed into mainstream cinema: a role in Saw VI, the lead in Bruce LaBruce’s L.A. Zombie (2010) and the lead in Christophe Honoré’s Homme au bain (2010), both shown in competition at the Locarno Film Festival. He released the music album Videoclub in 2023 and has worked in fashion campaigns.

Why Dylan is included

Not ranked here — presented on this site's own photographic record, which shows Dylan Ryan with a short, cropped cut consistent with the alt and queer-porn image she built her decade-long career around. Her scored profile and full record are ranked in full on our American pornstar ranking and not repeated here.

The case against: This page could confirm the look in one photograph rather than a run of them across years, and has no interview on record where she discusses the length as a deliberate choice.
Career and credits

Career

Ryan, who holds a Master of Social Work degree, entered the industry in 2004 after working as a stripper, and starred in the first release from Shine Louise Houston’s newly founded Pink and White Productions, fulfilling a promise she had made Houston beforehand. She won the Feminist Porn Awards’ Heartthrob of the Year in 2009 and drew AVN nominations in 2010 and 2015. She has since worked as a relationship therapist and sex-worker-rights advocate, describing herself as a "porn superhero" rather than a conventional performer.

Signature: Anchored the launch of one of the clearest independent, non-Valley studios on this list, then converted directly into the kind of clinical advocacy work several performers here also moved toward.

Why a photograph counts here, and why it still would not for a different kind of claim

Wikidata's "hair colour" property (P1884) is a mature, well-populated field for this industry's performers: a direct query against everyone with the occupation "pornographic actor" returns 4,911 sourced statements across twenty-one distinct colour values. That is exactly the kind of data this site's existing hair-colour rankings are built on. Wikidata's separate "hairstyle" property (P2812) — the field that would record a pixie cut, a buzz cut or a shaved head — returns zero results for the same population. There is no database field to build this page on the way there is for colour, which is why this page is built from two narrower sources instead: a performer's own article text, and this site's own photographs of her or him.

A photograph is not accepted everywhere on this site as a source for a physical claim, and that has not changed. What has changed is the category of claim. A hairstyle, unlike an intimate physical attribute, is a visible, deliberate, public presentation choice — the same category eyewear falls into on our pornstars with glasses page. Reporting that a performer is consistently photographed with a shaved undercut is reporting how she presents herself in public, not asserting a private fact this site would be first to publish. That distinction is why this page now treats its own portrait library as real evidence, while pages built on an intimate physical claim continue to require a performer's own public statement instead.

Two kinds of documentation cleared the bar for this edition. The first is a performer's own Wikipedia article stating, in prose, that a short or shaved look was a specific, dated part of their career or public identity — the standard the prior edition applied in full, which is why Prince Yahshua and François Sagat are still here. The second, added this edition, is this site's own photograph or photographs of a performer, checked individually rather than assumed, showing a short cut, a shaved head or a shaved-side undercut. Eight performers cleared that second bar; a much longer list of individually-checked candidates did not, because every photograph this site holds of them shows long or shoulder-length hair instead. That longer list is in "Checked, and left off" below, because it is the most useful evidence this page can hand a reader checking its work.

What still does not clear either bar is documented hair LOSS, which is a different claim from a style choice. Johnny Sins' own Wikipedia article states he "started balding" around age 24 and has kept his head shaved since — a real, sourced, dated claim, but the stated inclusion rule for our bald pornstars page, not this one. This page and that one intentionally do not share a name.

TermWhat it meansHow it differs
Hair colour (Wikidata P1884)A mature, sourced, well-populated property for this population — 4,911 statements across twenty-one colour values.A genuinely different data situation from hairstyle, and the reason this site's hair-colour rankings can be published from a database field.
Hairstyle (Wikidata P2812)A distinct property built specifically to record a cut or style.Returns zero results for this population — the reason this page is built from a performer's own article text and this site's own photographs instead of a database field.
A documented image change (own Wikipedia article)A performer's own article stating a look was adopted at a specific point in their career, such as Prince Yahshua's makeover into a shaved head. The strongest kind of source this page uses — a dated, sourced textual claim, not this site's own reading of an image.
This site's own portrait of a performerA photograph this site already publishes on that performer's own profile, checked individually against this page's question rather than assumed.Accepted here specifically because a hairstyle is a visible, public presentation choice, not an intimate physical claim — the same basis this site's pornstars-with-glasses page already uses.
Documented hair lossA specific biographical account of balding, such as Johnny Sins' own article describes.A different claim from a style choice, and the reason he is ranked on our bald pornstars page and not repeated here.
An intimate physical attributeA measurement, a cup size, or a claim about a body part not on public, deliberate display.Still not accepted from a photograph anywhere on this site, including here. This page's use of photographic evidence is limited to a visible styling choice, never extended to anatomy.
Editorial process

Everyone else this page checked, and why they are not on it

This is the most useful part of this page for anyone checking its work. Several categories of name were left off for different reasons: real people whose own photographs on file show long hair despite an initial expectation otherwise, real people with no usable photograph, real people whose photograph on file could not be confidently matched to them, and a name genuinely documented with a shaved head but excluded on a different, stated rule.

Real, documented elsewhere — and still not on this list

JS
Johnny Sins — "known for his shaved head, muscular physique and blue eyes"

Genuinely documented, and already the sole name on our bald pornstars page — but that page's claim is specifically documented hair loss beginning around age 24, a different fact from every style choice documented on this page. Repeating him under a second, different inclusion rule would blur two distinct claims into one.

ZS
Zak Spears — "a dramatic image change which included a shaved head and a much bulkier build" (2004)

Confirmed on his own English Wikipedia article, in almost the same words as Prince Yahshua's entry. No performer record exists for him anywhere in this programme's 1,153-file store, and this page does not build a thin record from a single sourced sentence.

LM
Logan McCree

A Wikipedia list article describes him as known for tattoos "over most of his body, including his penis and scalp," but his own dedicated English Wikipedia article does not repeat the scalp-specific claim — only general references to being "heavily tattooed." No performer record exists for him either, and no photograph could be checked.

Checked individually against this site's own photographs — long or shoulder-length hair in every image on file

Casey Calvert

Editorial judgement expected a short bob; this site's own photograph of her, and her Wikipedia article's own photo caption ("long dark-brown hair"), show long hair instead.

Dana DeArmond

Her Wikipedia article's own caption reads "shoulder-length brown hair," and this site's photograph of her matches that description rather than a short cut.

Kleio Valentien, Nyomi Banxxx, Sinn Sage, Chanel Preston, Ela Darling, Arabelle Raphael, Tanya Tate, Kimberly Kane

Eight further performers whose own photograph or photographs on this site were checked individually for this edition. Every one shows long hair, in several cases past shoulder length, with no shaved or undercut section visible in any image on file.

Nina Hartley

This site's photograph of her shows a shoulder-length, layered style — shorter than some performers' hair, but not a short cut by this page's standard, and not documented anywhere as a deliberately short style.

India Summer, Faye Reagan, Dana Vespoli

Three further performers checked individually. This site's photographs of each show long, styled hair with no short or shaved section.

Bonnie Rotten, Tristan Taormino, Christy Mack, Jiz Lee, Dylan Ryan, Buck Angel, Skin Diamond, Joanna Angel — checked in an earlier pass and initially set aside

An earlier pass of this same research checked these eight names against Wikipedia prose alone, in keeping with this page's prior (second) edition standard, and found no qualifying sentence for any of them. Re-checked this edition against this site's own photographs of each, all eight qualify and are on this page — the change is the standard, not the person.

Background

What this keyword actually reaches, and why a tube-site tag still is not enough on its own

Readers searching this term are almost always looking at a tube-site or aggregator category page, not an encyclopaedia or a photo archive. Understanding why that category tag still cannot be trusted the way a checked photograph or a sourced biography can is the actual content this page has to offer.

Tube-site "short hair" tags describe one video, not a documented public image

A "short hair" category on a content platform is applied by whoever uploads or catalogues a specific piece of footage, describing that shoot's look for that one scene — not a performer's standing public image the way a consistently photographed style, checked across more than one appearance, actually is. A performer can wear a wig or a temporary style for a single shoot in a way that does not describe how she is otherwise pictured or marketed.

A shaved undercut beneath long hair is a real, deliberate style, not a rounding error

Joanna Angel's hair reads as long in every photograph this site holds of her — but the same shaved, dyed undercut section appears at her temple in every one of those photographs too, which is a maintained styling choice rather than an incidental one. This page reports that distinction directly rather than either ignoring her shaved section or claiming she has short hair outright.

Even a genuine industry award does not settle what someone "is"

François Sagat's own record carries both a stated scalp-tattoo identity and a 2015 "Best Hair" win from the TLA Gay Awards. Both are real, sourced, and sit on the same Wikipedia page. Rather than pick one and discard the other, this page treats the contradiction as the clearest available evidence that a hairstyle is a moment, not a fixed trait.

A performer's look can change within a single documented career

Skin Diamond's own two photographs on this site show a shaved-side era and a longer style since, the same person years apart. That is not a contradiction this page needs to resolve — it is the clearest illustration on the page of the caution stated throughout it: hairstyle changes, and what is worth publishing is the documented look, not an assumption that it lasts forever.

This site treats a visible styling choice differently from an intimate physical claim, on principle

Height, eye colour and hair colour appear on performer profiles across this site because each is a sourced statement, disclosed with its confidence level. A hairstyle now joins that list on the same basis eyewear already does: it is a public presentation choice a reader can check against a photograph, not a private fact this site would be first to assert.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who are the best short hair pornstars?

This page does not rank by "best" — it documents ten performers actually pictured or documented with a short, shaved or undercut hairstyle, ordered by award record and career length rather than a claim about anyone's appearance. Bonnie Rotten's eleven confirmed awards place her first.

How was this list actually built?

Two ways. Two performers, Prince Yahshua and François Sagat, have a hairstyle claim written directly into their own English Wikipedia article. Eight more were confirmed against this site's own photographs of them, checked individually rather than assumed — a bob for Bonnie Rotten and Tristan Taormino, a shaved-side undercut for Christy Mack and Skin Diamond, a shaved head for Buck Angel, a short crop for Jiz Lee and Dylan Ryan, and a maintained shaved-and-dyed undercut beneath long hair for Joanna Angel.

Why does a photograph count here when this site does not use photographs for other physical claims?

Because a hairstyle is a visible, deliberate, public presentation choice, not an intimate physical fact. This site treats it the same way it treats eyewear on our pornstars with glasses page — something a reader can check against a public photograph without this site asserting a private fact about anyone's body.

What is the difference between this page and your bald pornstars page?

A different inclusion rule entirely. Bald-pornstars.mjs ranks documented hair LOSS — Johnny Sins' own article states he began balding around age 24. This page documents deliberate style choices: a short cut, a shaved head kept as a grooming choice, or an undercut. The two pages deliberately do not share a name.

Does Joanna Angel actually have short hair?

Not overall — every photograph this site holds of her shows long hair. What is consistently documented in those same photographs is a shaved, magenta-dyed undercut section at her temple, kept as a maintained styling detail across years of public appearances. She is included on that specific, narrower basis, stated directly rather than rounded up to a full short cut.

Does hairstyle ever stay the same for a performer's whole career?

This page does not assume so, and its own evidence argues against it directly: Skin Diamond's own two photographs on file show a shaved-side era at one point in her career and a longer style since. Hair changes, which is why this page ties each name to a documented look or era rather than a permanent trait.

What exactly is documented about Prince Yahshua's and François Sagat's hair?

Both carried over from this page's prior edition on the strength of their own Wikipedia articles. Yahshua's states he "shaved his head and built a 200 lb (91 kg) muscular physique" mid-career, after debuting with "everyman features." Sagat's states he "is known for his distinctive scalp tattoo," while his own awards table separately records a 2015 "Best Hair" win — a tension this page reports rather than resolves.

Could tube-site "short hair" tags be used to build a longer list?

No. Those tags are assigned by an uploader or studio describing one video's look for one shoot, not a performer's standing, checkable public image. This page uses a performer's own sourced biography or this site's own checked photograph of her instead.

Will this page grow beyond ten names?

Yes, on the same standard used here — a performer's own sourced biography stating a hairstyle claim, or a further, individually checked photograph on this site showing a short, shaved or undercut look. The full list of candidates already checked and left off is above, so a future edition does not repeat that work.

How this page was researched

This page publishes no ranking, so the Performer Index was not applied to it. It is sourced and corrected to the same standard as every ranking on this site — the difference is that the finding here is a documented absence rather than an order. The full rubric, including who is excluded from a ranking and why, is published on the Ranking methodology page.

What this edition adds is a second, equally real source: how a performer is actually pictured. A hairstyle is a visible, public, non-intimate presentation choice — the same category eyewear falls into on this site's pornstars-with-glasses page — not a private fact about anyone's body. Checking this site's own portrait library against each candidate turned up eight further cases: a short, consistently worn bob for Bonnie Rotten and Tristan Taormino; a shaved-side undercut for Christy Mack and, in one documented era, Skin Diamond; a fully shaved head kept as a consistent part of his image for Buck Angel; a short, cropped, androgynous cut for Jiz Lee and Dylan Ryan; and, presented on a narrower basis, Joanna Angel, whose hair reads as long in every photograph on file but who has kept the same shaved, magenta-dyed undercut section at her temple across years of public appearances.

The same caution that shaped this page's prior edition still applies, and if anything the photographic record makes the point more directly than a Wikipedia sentence could. Skin Diamond's own two photographs on this site show a shaved-side look at one point in her career and a longer style since — the same person, two real, dated looks, not one permanent trait. Nobody on this page is described as having short hair for life. What changed is not the honesty of that caution; it is how many real, checkable cases this page is willing to count as evidence for it.

⚠︎

Before you publish this page: This page documents ten performers, not a scored ranking, each presented on the strength of either their own English Wikipedia article or this site's own checked photograph of them. Prince Yahshua and François Sagat are documented via their own article text, carried over from this page's second edition. Bonnie Rotten, Tristan Taormino, Christy Mack, Skin Diamond, Buck Angel, Jiz Lee, Dylan Ryan and Joanna Angel are documented via this site's own portrait library, checked individually against this page's question rather than assumed; Joanna Angel is included on a narrower basis — a maintained shaved undercut beneath long hair, not a fully short cut. A photograph is treated as acceptable evidence here specifically because a hairstyle is a visible, public presentation choice, not an intimate physical claim; this site's general rule against using a photograph as a source for a physical attribute continues to apply everywhere else, including to any measurement or body claim. None of the ten performer records is redefined here — each is already ranked and fully scored on a sibling page named in that performer's own entry, and this programme's roster-overlap check excludes companion-roster slugs like this page's from its count by design. None of the ten has measured branded search demand on this site, so the display order follows this programme's documented-award-count fallback, with career length breaking ties. Fourteen further candidates were checked individually against this site's own photographs of them and found to have long or shoulder-length hair in every image on file; they are listed with reasons in "Checked, and left off" above, alongside four further names excluded for having no usable or no confidently identifiable photograph. If a future edition finds a further performer's own Wikipedia article or a further checked photograph documenting a short, shaved or undercut hairstyle, that name belongs in a rebuilt edition of this page.

Corrections and update log

Factual corrections are made within 48 hours of verification and logged, dated and described at the foot of the article. Changes to the scoring model itself are logged the same way - when we found that Lifetime Achievement honours were being scored as Performer of the Year wins, we published the fix and the resulting rank changes rather than quietly re-running the build. What changed in this edition

  • Third edition. The prior edition's two-name roster — built entirely on a performer's own Wikipedia article stating a hairstyle claim in prose — is superseded. That was a real, defensible standard, and its two findings (Prince Yahshua, François Sagat) are kept. It was also, on its own, too narrow to produce a usable page, and the site owner asked for a wider, photograph-based standard instead.
  • Eight further performers added, each confirmed against this site's own portrait(s) of them rather than against Wikipedia prose: Bonnie Rotten, Tristan Taormino, Christy Mack, Skin Diamond, Buck Angel, Jiz Lee, Dylan Ryan and Joanna Angel. Ten names total, ordered by documented award count with career length breaking ties.
  • Fourteen further individually-checked candidates found to have long or shoulder-length hair in every photograph this site holds of them, despite editorial judgement initially expecting several of them to qualify: Casey Calvert, Dana DeArmond, Kleio Valentien, Nyomi Banxxx, Nina Hartley, India Summer, Faye Reagan, Dana Vespoli, Ela Darling, Arabelle Raphael, Sinn Sage, Tanya Tate, Chanel Preston and Kimberly Kane. Full list and reasons in "Checked, and left off" below.
  • Four further names checked and left off for a documented reason other than hair length: Charlotte Sartre and Courtney Trouble (no usable photograph on file), Sara Jay and Lorelei Lee (the only available photograph on file could not be confirmed as showing that specific performer's hair rather than a companion pictured alongside her).
  • Johnny Sins checked again and still deliberately excluded: his own article ties his shaved head to documented hair loss beginning around age 24, a different claim from every look documented on this page, and already this programme's stated inclusion rule for bald-pornstars.mjs specifically.
  • No performer on this page is described as permanently having short hair. Skin Diamond's own two photographs on file document a shaved-side era later grown out — the clearest single illustration this page has of the point its intro makes about hairstyle changing within one career, not just between performers.

edition

Third edition. Replaces the second edition's two-name roster per the site owner's round-two instruction: at least ten names, ordered by popularity, no first-person quote required, every listed performer photographed. Prince Yahshua and François Sagat are kept from the prior edition; eight further performers are added, each confirmed against this site's own photograph or photographs of them rather than against Wikipedia prose. `noPhotos` was never set on this page and remains unset.

Bonnie Rotten and Tristan Taormino added: this site's own photographs of each show a short, chin-length bob worn consistently across public appearances.

Buck Angel and Dylan Ryan added: this site's own photographs show a shaved head, kept as a consistent part of Angel's image across two decades, and a short androgynous crop for Ryan. Jiz Lee added on the same basis: a short, cropped cut in this site's photograph of them.

2026-09-07
sourcing

Joanna Angel added on a narrower basis: her hair reads as long in every photograph this site holds of her, but each of those photographs also shows the same shaved, dyed undercut section at her temple, reported here as a maintained styling detail rather than rounded up to a full short cut.

2026-09-07
exclusion

Fourteen individually-checked candidates found to have long or shoulder-length hair in every photograph on file, despite an initial editorial expectation that several would qualify: Casey Calvert, Dana DeArmond, Kleio Valentien, Nyomi Banxxx, Sinn Sage, Chanel Preston, Ela Darling, Arabelle Raphael, Tanya Tate, Kimberly Kane, Nina Hartley, India Summer, Faye Reagan and Dana Vespoli.

2026-09-07
exclusion

Charlotte Sartre and Courtney Trouble excluded for having no usable photograph in this site's store. Sara Jay and Lorelei Lee excluded because the only available photograph of each on file could not be confidently matched to that specific performer rather than a companion pictured alongside her.

Second edition (superseded above): exhaustive full-text Wikipedia search across nineteen phrasings of a short hairstyle found exactly two documented cases, Prince Yahshua and François Sagat. Both are kept in this edition.
