Pornstar Ranked

Thai Pornstars: Who Actually Qualifies

Pornography is illegal in Thailand. Section 287 of the country's Criminal Code criminalises the production, distribution and public exhibition of obscene material, with penalties of up to three years' imprisonment, a fine, or both — and that law sits directly underneath a tourist reputation built on the opposite assumption.

There is no domestic hardcore industry, no licensing route, and no legal window for one. Almost every performer who is genuinely Thai and works in adult film built that career somewhere else, in practice almost always the United States, which is why the accurate description for most of this list is "Thai-American" rather than "Thai".

The short answer

Tera Patrick ranks first among Thai pornstars on our index. Born in Montana to a Thai mother, she holds a fifteen-year recognition record other performers of Thai heritage do not approach: Penthouse Pet of the Month in February 2000, AVN and XRCO Best New Starlet in 2001, AVN Hall of Fame and XBIZ Crossover Star of the Year in 2009, and XRCO Hall of Fame in 2014. Keni Styles ranks second and Mya Luanna third.

The ranking

The nine documented Thai-born or Thai-descent performers

This is the entire group we could verify against a documented birthplace, citizenship or specifically stated ethnic heritage — not a top nine trimmed from a longer field. Two names are far better known than the rest and are shared with other pages on this site; the other seven required a foreign-language Wikipedia stub and a Wikidata entry apiece, because almost nobody in this category has an English biography. Where a widely repeated claim turned out to be false, the entry says so.

Why Tera ranks 1st

Patrick is the performer this keyword should have led to all along, and the record makes the case on its own.

Born in Great Falls, Montana, to a Thai mother and an English-Irish-Dutch father, she is the only person on this page whose Thai heritage sits inside a fully sourced English Wikipedia biography rather than a Wikidata description or a foreign-language stub.

Penthouse Pet of the Month in February 2000, AVN and XRCO Best New Starlet the following year, AVN Hall of Fame and XBIZ Crossover Star of the Year in 2009, XRCO Hall of Fame in 2014 — a fifteen-year run of recognition no other name here approaches, and the record that puts her first on our most beautiful pornstars ranking.

She also built the two businesses, Teravision and a talent agency, that most of this field never had the studio infrastructure to attempt.

The case against: Her documented birthplace is Montana, not Thailand, and her nationality on record is American; the Thai connection is real but maternal rather than a matter of birth or citizenship, which sets her apart from the Thailand-born names on this list.

Career

Born Linda Ann Hopkins, Patrick worked as a teenage mainstream model before entering the industry in 1999. She was a Penthouse Pet of the Month by February 2000 and won Best New Starlet at both AVN and XRCO the following year. In 2006 she and then-husband Evan Seinfeld launched a talent agency and her own production label, Teravision, and she retired from on-camera performing in 2008 while continuing to host, produce and license her back catalogue.

Signature: Held the Penthouse Pet title before she had a single AVN win, then spent the 2000s converting that into a genuine crossover career — a talent agency, a production company, a memoir, television hosting — that XBIZ recognised directly with its Crossover Star of the Year title in 2009.

Why Keni ranks 2nd

Styles is the rare performer on this page whose birthplace, not just his ethnicity, is documented as Thailand — born there to a single mother, moved to the UK as a child, raised in a British orphanage from sixteen — he is also ranked among the British pornstars ranked here — a sourced biography rather than a guess drawn from his stage surname.

He won Best Male Newcomer at the first UK Adult Film and Television Awards in 2006, added Best Supporting Male Actor the year after, and by 2011 held an XBIZ Acting Performance of the Year win and an AVN Male Performer of the Year nomination — a record several industry sources describe as making him the first widely credited heterosexual Asian male performer in the American mainstream. He retired from performing in 2015.

The case against: His honours run mostly through UK-specific ceremonies rather than the deepest American categories, and he retired in 2015 with no documented activity since.

Career

Born in Thailand to a single mother, Keni Styles moved to the UK as a child after she married a British national; when that marriage ended his mother returned to Thailand and he remained in a UK orphanage until he was 16 — a documented, sourced biography rather than an inference from his stage name. He won Best Male Newcomer at the first UK Adult Film and Television Awards in 2006, added Best Supporting Male Actor the following year, and by 2011 had won XBIZ’s Acting Performance of the Year alongside an AVN Male Performer of the Year nomination — described by some industry sources as the first widely credited heterosexual Asian male performer in the American industry. The AVN nomination is independently confirmed on Wikipedia’s own 28th AVN Awards page, which lists him in the Male Performer of the Year field alongside Mick Blue, James Deen and Manuel Ferrara (Evan Stone won). He retired from performing in 2015.

Signature: A UK-newcomer-award winner in 2006 who went on to an XBIZ acting win and an AVN Male Performer of the Year nomination five years later — the clearest British-to-American career arc of any man on this list.

Why Mya ranks 3rd

Luanna’s case rests on sheer studio breadth rather than a trophy. Born in Bangkok, she debuted in December 2005 after working strip clubs in Boston and Las Vegas — the connection that also places her on the Las Vegas porn stars list — and went on to appear in more than 140 titles across eight major studios — Evil Angel, Wicked Pictures, Adam & Eve, Hustler Video and Jules Jordan Video among them — a genuinely wide buyer base for a performer with no confirmed award.

A reported 2010 AVN nomination is carried on her biography but does not appear on the 27th AVN Awards’ own Wikipedia page, so it is disclosed here rather than counted.

Her entire documented record runs through a West Frisian Wikipedia stub rather than an English-language article, one of the clearest illustrations on this page of how thin post-2019 documentation runs even for a substantial career.

The case against: No award from any recognised body survives verification, she has no English-language Wikipedia article, and nothing establishes when or whether her career ended.

Born in Bangkok, Mya Luanna worked as a stripper at Boston’s Foxy Lady club before relocating to Las Vegas and debuting in adult film in December 2005 at age 27. She went on to appear in more than 140 titles for eight major American studios, from Evil Angel and Wicked Pictures to Hustler Video and Jules Jordan Video — a genuinely broad studio spread for a career with no award-body recognition attached to it. A 2010 AVN Best Lesbian Threesome Scene nomination is reported on her Wikipedia biography but does not appear on the 27th AVN Awards’ own Wikipedia page, so it is not counted here.

Why Roxy ranks 4th

Jezel is the only performer on this page with a competitive AVN win that survives a direct check against the ceremony’s own record, and in a field built mostly on Wikidata entries and foreign-language stubs, that distinction carries real weight.

She won Best Couples Sex Scene for Sex & Violins at the 25th AVN Awards — she is also ranked on the anal pornstar list — alongside two further nominations from the same film, a year after a Female Performer of the Year nomination at the 24th.

She reached the industry in the first place by winning the second season of Jenna’s American Sex Star, a Playboy TV contract series, in 2006. Born in London to a British father and, on her own account, a Thai mother, she represents the British-Thai branch of this diaspora rather than the more common Thai-American one.

The case against: She has no standalone English Wikipedia article — her record is reconstructed from AVN’s own ceremony pages and a Wikidata entry rather than a written biography, and her Thai heritage rests on a database description with no independent narrative source behind it.

Career

Born in London to a British father and, per her own account, a Thai mother, Roxy Jezel won the second season of Playboy TV’s reality contract series Jenna’s American Sex Star in 2006, earning a year working under Jenna Jameson’s ClubJenna label. Her strongest year followed: a Female Performer of the Year nomination and an All-Girl Sex Scene nomination at the 24th AVN Awards, then a genuine win the following year, Best Couples Sex Scene for Sex & Violins, alongside two further nominations from the same film at the 25th AVN Awards. Both the win and every nomination were checked directly against the AVN Awards’ own Wikipedia ceremony pages rather than taken from a secondary list.

Why Kesarin ranks 5th

Chaichalermpol is the one name on this page whose case is not an illustration of Thailand’s pornography law from the outside — it is the law being applied to her directly.

Working under the stage names Nong Natt and Natt Chanapa, she was arrested and prosecuted after hardcore videos featuring her circulated outside Thailand, receiving a fine, a six-month suspended sentence and a year’s probation under Section 287 of the Criminal Code.

She rebuilt a public career afterward rather than disappearing from it: a role in the 2012 mainstream feature Jan Dara: The Beginning, television work including a food programme in 2019, and modelling and advertising deals her own Wikipedia article says followed directly from her public profile.

The case against: She holds no adult-industry award, her cited adult-content filmography is not separately catalogued from her mainstream acting work, and her English Wikipedia article rests on two archived press pieces from 2004 and 2005 rather than a fuller sourced record.

Working under the stage names Nong Natt and Natt Chanapa, Kesarin Chaichalermpol is a Thai actress and model who was arrested by Thai police after hardcore videos featuring her were released outside Thailand. She was prosecuted specifically because production and distribution of pornography is illegal in Thailand under Section 287 of the Criminal Code, and received a fine, a six-month suspended sentence and a year’s probation. Her English Wikipedia article states the penalty was mitigated by her existing public profile. She continued working afterward, appearing in the mainstream feature Jan Dara: The Beginning in 2012 and going on to modelling, advertising and Thai television work, including a food programme in 2019.

Why Lucy ranks 6th

Thai is included on the strength of a specific, sourced ethnic claim rather than the assumption her stage surname invites everywhere else on the internet: her French Wikipedia biography states she has origins "half Thai and half Cambodian," not simply a Thai-sounding name attached with no further detail.

Born in Long Beach, California, she performed from 2003 to 2008 and appeared in more than 180 titles. A widely repeated 2005 AVN Best New Starlet nomination could not be confirmed against the 22nd, 23rd or 25th AVN Awards’ own Wikipedia pages spanning her active years, so it is disclosed rather than counted as verified.

The case against: The AVN nomination attached to her name everywhere else does not survive a direct ceremony check, she has no English-language Wikipedia article, and no studio affiliation is documented beyond a bare title count.

Lucy Thai is documented on her French Wikipedia biography as having origins "half Thai and half Cambodian" — a specific, stated ethnic claim rather than an inference from her stage surname, which is the distinction that matters most on this particular page. Born in Long Beach, California, she performed from 2003 to 2008 and appeared in more than 180 titles. A widely repeated 2005 AVN Best New Starlet nomination could not be verified: it does not appear on the 22nd, 23rd or 25th AVN Awards’ own Wikipedia pages, the ceremonies spanning her active years, so it is not counted as a confirmed award here.

Why Annie ranks 7th

Lee is ranked on the strength of two checkable facts and states nothing beyond them: a documented Bangkok birthplace, and a real, sourced sibling relationship with fellow performer Abbie Lee, with whom she worked in the same active period.

Her only biography is a single-paragraph Egyptian Arabic Wikipedia stub citing an aggregator database and nothing else — no career narrative, no notable titles, no award.

She is a distinct, unrelated person from the American visual artist Annie Frances Lee and from the mainstream film actress of the same name, a collision this article states explicitly rather than leaving to guesswork.

The case against: This is the thinnest sourced record on the page: no independent narrative account exists beyond a name, a birthplace, a birth date and a sibling relationship, and no award, studio or notable title is documented at all.

Annie Lee is a Bangkok-born adult performer, sister of Abbie Lee, who worked in the American industry in the same period as her sister. Why Abbie ranks 8th

Lee’s record is modest but genuinely sourced: born in Bangkok, she performed from 2009 to 2013 in hardcore, group and solo scenes, closing with Me So Horny in 2013.

What distinguishes her from most of the thin end of this list is a real, documented family connection rather than a coincidence of stage surnames — she worked repeatedly alongside her sister, Annie Lee, also Bangkok-born and active in the same window — the pair are documented among the sister and twin pornstars this site has verified.

Her sourcing runs through Spanish, Egyptian Arabic and Asturian Wikipedia stubs rather than an English article, and no award of any kind attaches to her name.

The case against: No award from any recognised body, no English-language Wikipedia article, and no complete filmography or credit count beyond a handful of named titles.

Born in Bangkok, Abbie Lee performed from 2009 to 2013, appearing in hardcore, group and solo scenes including Brand New Faces 33 (2011) and her final release, Me So Horny (2013). She frequently appeared alongside her sister, Annie Lee, also Bangkok-born and also documented in adult film during the same years — a genuine, sourced sibling pairing rather than a coincidence of stage surnames. Neither holds an award from any recognised body.

Why Jureka ranks 9th

Del Mar represents the most recent career on this page, and one of the more substantial ones by studio range: born in Bangkok, she debuted in 2016 and by 2018 had appeared in more than 35 titles across both LegalPorno’s European network and Evil Angel’s American one, working alongside performers including Tiffany Doll and Gina Gerson.

That is a real cross-continental studio career, not a single-market run. Her documentation, though, is unusually thin for how current her work is: her sole biography, on West Frisian Wikipedia, cites nothing beyond IAFD, IMDb, FreeOnes and a Twitter handle, with no independent narrative source anywhere.

The case against: No award of any kind, no English-language Wikipedia article, and no documented activity found after 2018 — it is not established whether she is still working.

Career

Jureka del Mar, born in Bangkok, debuted in adult film in 2016 and built a career spanning both the European industry, through LegalPorno, and the American industry, through Evil Angel — appearing in more than 35 titles by 2018, including work alongside Tiffany Doll and Gina Gerson. Her sourcing is thin: her only Wikipedia biography, in West Frisian, cites nothing beyond IAFD, IMDb, FreeOnes and her own Twitter account, with no independent narrative source. She holds no award from any recognised body.

Signature: A genuine cross-continental studio career — European and American labels both — carried entirely on aggregator-level sourcing rather than a written biography.

Definitions

A criminalised industry, and a stage name that means almost nothing

This category has two separate problems layered on top of each other, and most competing lists solve neither. The first is structural: Thailand has no legal domestic hardcore industry, so almost nobody genuinely Thai and working in adult film ever worked inside the country. The second is decorative: "Thai" has become one of the most common stage-name elements in English-language adult film, applied to performers with no documented Thai connection at all, for the same reason a strip club might be named after a country its dancers have never visited.

Here, "Thai" means one of three things, each independently checkable: a documented Thai birthplace, documented Thai or dual Thai citizenship, or a specifically stated Thai ethnic heritage from a source that says so directly rather than one that can be inferred only from a stage surname. That third category matters more here than almost anywhere else on this site, because the failure mode on this particular keyword is not usually "wrong nationality claimed with confidence" — it is "no nationality claim exists at all, and a stage surname is being read as one anyway." Lily Thai's own French Wikipedia biography states she is Filipino-Italian and that "Thai" is a stage name; nothing about her career or background points toward Thailand in any direction. That is not a nationality error so much as an absence being filled in by a reader's assumption, and it is the single most common thing wrong with this keyword's search results.

Section 287 of Thailand's Criminal Code is the reason the genuine population is this small. It criminalises the making, possession for distribution, and public exhibition of obscene material — documents, drawings, photographs, film, audio and video all named explicitly — with penalties running to three years' imprisonment, a fine of up to sixty thousand baht, or both. There is no licensing exemption. One performer on this page, Kesarin Chaichalermpol, was prosecuted under this exact provision after hardcore videos featuring her were released outside Thailand; everyone else on the ranked list built a career entirely outside the country instead.

That combination — a criminalised domestic industry plus a stage name used as generic marketing — is why this page runs to nine rather than fifteen, and why two of the nine corrections below involve removing a performer entirely rather than adjusting a detail.

TermWhat it meansHow it differs
Thai-bornBorn inside Thailand, documented from a source better than a stage surname. Six of the nine ranked performers meet this bar directly. Not the same as Thai-sounding, and not the same as Thai-American, which describes citizenship and heritage rather than birthplace.
Thai-AmericanA performer of documented Thai birth or specifically stated Thai heritage, working within the American adult-film industry because no domestic Thai industry exists to work within. The category most of this ranked list actually falls into, and the reason "Thai pornstar" and "Thai-American pornstar" describe almost the same small population here.
Stage-name decorationAttaching "Thai" (or "Viet", "Wong", "Li" and similar) to a stage surname with no documented connection to that nationality or ethnicity, purely as generic Asian marketing. The single most common error under this keyword. Both performers corrected by name below — May Thai and Lily Thai — fall into this category, documented directly from their own biographies rather than inferred.
Section 287, Criminal Code (Thailand)The statute criminalising the making, distribution and public exhibition of obscene material in Thailand, carrying penalties up to three years' imprisonment, a fine, or both. The provision Kesarin Chaichalermpol was prosecuted under — the one performer on this page whose adult-content career happened inside, rather than outside, Thailand's borders.
Wikidata spam clusterA group of Wikidata entries tagging a person with a pornographic-actor occupation and Thai citizenship, carrying zero references on that claim and no Wikipedia sitelink in any language — several sitting in one contiguous Q-id range, the signature of a bulk import. Not evidence of anything. None of the entries matching this pattern is named anywhere on this page; see the industry section below.
Context

Why the only route out was out

Pre-1956–2004

A criminal statute with no exemption, and no domestic industry to exempt

Section 287 of Thailand's Criminal Code has stood essentially unchanged since the code's modern form took shape, criminalising the production, distribution and public exhibition of obscene material outright. It has never created a licensing route or an adults-only exemption of any kind. That is the entire reason this category has no domestic industry to document: unlike Hong Kong's Category III system or South Korea's legal erotic-film wave, Thailand never developed even a legally classified adjacent genre. What existed instead, for decades, was informal and undocumented — precisely the kind of activity that produces no named, credited performer roster.

1999–2009

The diaspora builds a record entirely offshore

The performers on this page with the deepest recognition built their careers with no reference to Thailand's domestic law at all, because they worked entirely within the American and British industries. Tera Patrick debuted in 1999 and had reached the AVN Hall of Fame by 2009. Keni Styles, born in Thailand and raised in the UK, won his first UK Adult Film and Television Award in 2006. Roxy Jezel, born in London to a Thai mother, won a Playboy TV contract series in 2006 and an AVN award two years later. None of the three ever worked inside Thailand's adult industry, because none exists.

2004–2005

The one case where the law was applied directly

Kesarin Chaichalermpol's prosecution under Section 287, following the release of hardcore videos featuring her outside Thailand, is the one documented case in this category of the law being enforced against a performer based inside the country rather than against an importer or distributor. She received a fine, a six-month suspended sentence and a year's probation, and continued a public career in mainstream Thai film, television and modelling afterward. Her case is the clearest illustration available of what happens when the gap between reputation and law closes on one specific person.

2005–2018

A second wave, thinly documented from the start

Mya Luanna, Lucy Thai, Abbie Lee and Annie Lee all built American industry careers in this window — Bangkok- and Long Beach-born respectively, working across major studios including Evil Angel, Wicked Pictures and Hustler Video. None holds a verified award. Jureka del Mar followed in 2016, working both the European LegalPorno network and the American Evil Angel label. All five are documented today almost entirely through Wikidata and a single non-English Wikipedia stub apiece — a direct consequence of English Wikipedia's 2019 deprecation of WP:PORNBIO, which is covered in the industry section below.

2019–2026

The deletions, and what they leave behind

English Wikipedia's 2019 policy change removed the notability guideline most adult-performer biographies had previously relied on, and a large share of existing articles for performers without a marquee American award were deleted or redirected as a result. For a category this small to begin with, the effect has been close to total: seven of the nine performers ranked here have no English-language Wikipedia article at all, surviving instead through Wikidata entries and single-paragraph stubs on West Frisian, Egyptian Arabic, Spanish and French Wikipedia. That is not evidence their careers were smaller than the record suggests — it is evidence of what a 2019 policy change does to a country with no domestic industry to fall back on for independent documentation.

Cuts of the same data

Ranked by sub-category

Different cuts of the same scored data, for readers looking for something more specific than a general list.

With any verified award

The only three of nine with an award confirmed against the relevant body's own ceremony record. Patrick holds two Hall of Fame inductions; Jezel holds the field's only competitive AVN win.

Documented Thai birthplace

Six of nine were born in Thailand itself, most in Bangkok. The other three — Patrick, Jezel and Lucy Thai — qualify through documented heritage rather than birthplace.

Broadest studio spread

Luanna across eight major American studios, Thai across more than 180 titles — the two deepest credit counts in the field, neither backed by a confirmed award.

Biggest mainstream crossover

A production company and a talent agency on one side; a rebuilt Thai television and modelling career, after a criminal prosecution, on the other.

Weakest documentation

Ranked, with the limits stated on their entries. None has an English-language Wikipedia article; all three rest on a single foreign-language stub apiece.

Editorial process

The names on other lists: who these people actually are

This keyword's biggest problem is not competing lists ranking the wrong Thai performers — it is competing lists ranking performers with no Thai connection at all, on the strength of a stage surname alone. We checked every name we could source and corrected the ones that were simply wrong. We have deliberately published no photographs in this section.

Checked and left out — categories, not names

AW
A Wikidata cluster tagging Thai citizenship with a pornographic-actor occupation

Wikidata carries several entries, as of August 2026, combining a pornographic-actor occupation with citizenship Thailand that have zero references on the occupation claim and no Wikipedia sitelink in any language, four of them sitting in one contiguous Q-id range — the signature of a bulk import rather than independently written biographies. Two further entries carry a "Thai"-sounding stage name alongside a citizenship property that contradicts it entirely (Taiwan, China), suggesting the name is decorative. None of these entries was used, and nobody behind them is named — the same finding and the same handling as our Korean pornstars page and our South Asian regional coverage.

KY
Kat Young and Priva Rey — checked and excluded for insufficient sourcing

Both carry a documented Bangkok or Phuket birthplace on Wikidata, and both are the kind of borderline case this site takes seriously rather than dismissing automatically. Neither has a Wikipedia article in any language. Kat Young's Wikidata entry contains only cross-platform identifier links and no independent narrative; Priva Rey's sole occupation reference is the Internet Adult Film Database, an aggregator we do not use as a fact source, and beyond a name, a birth year and a city there is nothing to write an honest entry from.

Misidentified elsewhere as Thai — with who they actually are

May Thai — Italian, born Trieste, living

Her Wikidata entry and description describe her plainly as an Italian pornographic actress, born in Trieste in 1997, holding Italian citizenship. "Thai" is her stage surname and nothing else in her documented record — birthplace, citizenship, native language — points toward Thailand. She appears on competing "Thai pornstar" lists on the strength of the name alone.

Lily Thai — Filipino-Italian, born Mariza Haley in Honolulu

Her own French Wikipedia biography describes her as "métissée hawaïenne d'une mère philippine et d'un père italien" — mixed Hawaiian heritage, with a Filipino mother and an Italian father — and states directly that "Thai" is a stage name, not a documented ethnicity. She performed from 2003 to 2008 and picked up three AVN nominations in 2005, all under a surname with no connection to Thailand whatsoever.

Background

Why the law explains almost everything else on this page

Nine ranked performers, against sixteen hundred monthly searches, is a direct consequence of Thai law rather than a research shortfall — and the character of what fills the gap is a direct consequence of stage-name marketing rather than of anything real.

Production and distribution are criminalised outright

Section 287 of Thailand's Criminal Code prohibits making, possessing for distribution, bringing into the country, and publicly exhibiting obscene material — named explicitly to include film, photographs, printed matter and audio and video recordings — with penalties of up to three years' imprisonment, a fine of up to sixty thousand baht, or both. The fine figure is the current one: Penal Code fine amounts were multiplied by ten by the Act Amending the Penal Code (No. 26) B.E. 2560 in 2017, so the six-thousand-baht figure still widely quoted online is the pre-2017 text rather than an error. There is no licensing exemption and no adults-only carve-out. This is why every performer on this page except one built her career entirely outside Thailand.

One documented case of direct enforcement

Kesarin Chaichalermpol was arrested and prosecuted under Section 287 after hardcore videos featuring her circulated outside Thailand, receiving a fine, a six-month suspended sentence and a year's probation. She is the only performer on this page whose adult-content work happened while she was based inside the country, and the only one for whom Thai law was applied directly rather than simply explaining why she had to leave.

The WP:PORNBIO deletions hit this category unusually hard

English Wikipedia deprecated its adult-performer notability guideline in 2019, and a large share of existing biographies for performers without a marquee American award were deleted or redirected. Seven of the nine performers ranked here have no English-language Wikipedia article at all, documented instead through Wikidata and single-paragraph stubs on West Frisian, Egyptian Arabic, Spanish and French Wikipedia — a far higher proportion than our Russian or Chinese-national pornstars pages, because this category never had a large English-language documented base to begin with.

"Thai" as a stage-name decoration, not a nationality

At least six performers carry "Thai" as a stage surname with no documented connection to Thailand at all: May Thai (Italian), Lily Thai (Filipino-Italian), and a Wikidata cluster including Nyla Thai, Thai Michelle and Mia VietThai, whose own citizenship properties — American, Chinese and Taiwanese respectively — directly contradict the implied nationality. Two of these are corrected by name above; the rest are described here only in aggregate, because their sourcing does not clear the bar this page holds for naming anybody as a fact rather than a pattern.

A Wikidata data-quality problem, disclosed rather than used

Wikidata carries several entries combining a pornographic-actor occupation with citizenship Thailand that have zero references on the occupation claim and no Wikipedia sitelink in any language, four of them sitting in one contiguous Q-id range — the textbook signature of a bulk import rather than independently written biographies. None of this was used anywhere in this article, and none of these individuals is named on this page: they are real people potentially being mislabelled by an automated process, and publishing their names next to this keyword, even to debunk the tag, would create exactly the association this page exists to prevent.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best Thai pornstar?

Tera Patrick ranks first on our index. Born in Montana to a Thai mother, she holds the deepest recognition record of anyone with documented Thai heritage in the industry: Penthouse Pet of the Month in February 2000, AVN and XRCO Best New Starlet in 2001, AVN Hall of Fame and XBIZ Crossover Star of the Year in 2009, and XRCO Hall of Fame in 2014.

Is there a Thai porn industry?

No. Section 287 of Thailand's Criminal Code criminalises the production, distribution and public exhibition of obscene material, with penalties of up to three years' imprisonment, a fine, or both, and there is no licensing exemption. Almost every performer with documented Thai heritage built her career entirely outside Thailand as a result — mostly in the United States.

Is May Thai actually Thai?

No. Her own Wikidata entry and description describe her as an Italian pornographic actress, born in Trieste, holding Italian citizenship. Nothing in her documented record connects her to Thailand beyond the stage surname.

Is Lily Thai actually Thai?

No. Her own French Wikipedia biography states she has mixed Hawaiian heritage with a Filipino mother and an Italian father, born Mariza Haley in Honolulu, and describes "Thai" explicitly as a stage name rather than a documented ethnicity.

Was a Thai performer ever actually prosecuted for pornography?

Yes. Kesarin Chaichalermpol, working under the stage names Nong Natt and Natt Chanapa, was arrested and prosecuted under Section 287 of Thailand's Criminal Code after hardcore videos featuring her were released outside the country. She received a fine, a six-month suspended sentence and a year's probation, and went on to a mainstream career in Thai film, television and modelling afterward.

Why are there only nine performers on this list?

Because that is the entire population we could verify against a documented Thai birthplace, citizenship or specifically stated ethnic heritage. Thailand's criminalised industry means almost nobody genuinely Thai works in adult film inside the country, and English Wikipedia's 2019 policy change deleted most of the biographies that once documented performers of Thai heritage working abroad. We publish a short, accurate list rather than pad it with performers whose only connection to Thailand is a stage surname.

Is Kobe Tai Thai?

Her documented nationality, per her English Wikipedia biography, is simply American, with no ethnicity or heritage specified anywhere in the article. There is no basis to describe her as Thai beyond the surname, so she is not included on this page and is ranked instead on our petite pornstars and Hollywood crossover pornstars pages, where her documented record — not an assumed nationality — is the basis for inclusion.

Why do some entries on this list have almost no biographical detail?

Because that is genuinely all that is documented. Seven of the nine performers here have no English-language Wikipedia article, surviving instead through Wikidata and a single-paragraph stub on West Frisian, Egyptian Arabic, Spanish or French Wikipedia. We disclose exactly how thin each record is on the relevant entry rather than filling the gaps with invented detail.

Which Thai-heritage performer has the strongest award record?

Tera Patrick, by a wide margin: two Hall of Fame inductions (AVN and XRCO) plus a Penthouse Pet title and an XBIZ Crossover Star of the Year award. Roxy Jezel holds this field's only confirmed competitive AVN win — Best Couples Sex Scene at the 25th AVN Awards — verified directly against the ceremony's own record.

How often is this list updated?

A full re-audit every six months, plus an award-pillar update within fourteen days of each major ceremony. Given how much of this page corrects stage-name misidentification, we also update it whenever a new claim can be sourced or disproved. Every change is logged with a date and a reason at the foot of this page.

Methodology · The Pornstar Ranked Performer Index v3.0

How we ranked these performers

A 100-point composite built from six weighted pillars. Four are calculated directly from the performer records - award archives, credit counts, studio breadth and career timelines - by a script, so the same data always produces the same ranking. Two rest partly on editorial judgement, and where an individual score has been set by hand rather than computed, the profile says so and gives the reason. Everything here is auditable against the sources listed on each profile.

Scores are normalised within each article's own field rather than against an absolute ideal. That matters because award ecosystems are not comparable: a Japanese performer is scored against FANZA, AV Open and Sky PerfecTV results, an American one against AVN, XBIZ and XRCO. Ranking them on one absolute scale would be meaningless. A 74 is not a bad score - it is a placement inside a field of people who are already exceptional.

⚖︎

Weights for this category. Recognition falls to 16% from 25% on our default rubric, and Body of Work and Influence rise to 22% and 18% respectively. Six of the nine ranked performers hold no verified award from any recognised body, and two further award claims that circulate widely for this field — a 2010 AVN nomination attached to Mya Luanna, a 2005 AVN nomination attached to Lucy Thai — were checked directly against the relevant AVN Awards ceremony page on Wikipedia and do not appear there, so neither is scored as a win or a nomination. Weighting Recognition at the default level would have let one performer's deep Hall of Fame record and one confirmed AVN win (Roxy Jezel's, independently verified) swamp a field where the rest of the documented signal is studio breadth and career longevity rather than trophies. Influence is raised for the same reason it is raised on our Chinese and Korean pages: what is actually distinctive about several of these careers — Tera Patrick's two companies, Kesarin Chaichalermpol's rebuilt Thai media career after a criminal prosecution — is exactly what a recognition-heavy rubric would miss.

Search demand for "thai pornstar" does not know any of that, and runs to sixteen hundred queries a month regardless. What actually fills the results is, overwhelmingly, stage-name decoration: "Thai" is one of the most-recycled surnames in the English-language adult industry, attached to performers with no documented Thai connection whatsoever. We checked every name carrying it that we could find a source for. Two turned out to be flatly wrong — one Italian, one Filipino-Italian — and are named and corrected below, with no photographs published alongside the correction. A third, by contrast, carries a specific documented "half Thai and half Cambodian" claim, the opposite of a guess, and is ranked on exactly that basis.

Nine performers cleared this page's bar: a documented Thai birthplace, Thai citizenship, or a specifically stated Thai ethnic heritage from a source better than a stage surname. That is the entire verified population, not a top nine trimmed from a longer field. Two are genuinely well-documented and already familiar from other pages on this site; the other seven exist almost entirely through Wikidata and a single non-English Wikipedia stub apiece, because Thailand's complete absence of a domestic industry, combined with English Wikipedia's 2019 deletion of most adult-performer biographies under the WP:PORNBIO policy change, has left this category thinner-documented than almost any other on this site. We rank all nine and say exactly how thin each record is, rather than quietly filling the gap with names we could not check.

⚠︎

Before you publish this page: This is one of the most thinly documented categories on this site. Two performers — Tera Patrick and Keni Styles — carry full, sourced English Wikipedia biographies; the other seven have no English-language Wikipedia article at all and are documented through Wikidata plus a single non-English Wikipedia stub apiece (West Frisian, Egyptian Arabic, Spanish or French), a direct consequence of English Wikipedia's 2019 WP:PORNBIO deletions landing on a category that had almost no domestic industry to generate independent documentation in the first place. Two widely repeated award claims — a 2010 AVN nomination for Mya Luanna, a 2005 AVN nomination for Lucy Thai — were checked directly against the relevant ceremony's own Wikipedia page and do not appear there; neither is scored. The industry section discloses a Wikidata data-quality problem rather than burying it: several entries combine Thai citizenship with a pornographic-actor occupation and carry zero references and no Wikipedia sitelink in any language, several in one contiguous Q-id range consistent with a bulk import. None of that data was used, and nobody in that cluster is named. Two stage-name misidentification cases — May Thai (Italian) and Lily Thai (Filipino-Italian) — are corrected by name with no photographs published. Verify anything marked medium or low confidence before publishing publicly.

Industry Recognition
16%
Computed from records

Awards, nominations and Hall of Fame status.

How it is scored

Calculated by script from the award arrays on each performer record. A Hall of Fame induction is the heaviest single signal, then a Performer of the Year win, then a category win, then any other competitive win, then a nomination at roughly a quarter weight. Lifetime Achievement honours are scored as ordinary wins rather than as Performer of the Year, because Hall of Fame induction already captures career recognition and double-counting it visibly distorted an earlier edition of our all-time list.

Awards are the only independently-audited quality signal this industry produces. They are voted by peers and press, their archives are public, and they are the one input a reader can check without taking our word for anything.

Body of Work
22%
Computed from records

Credit volume, studio breadth and niche-defining titles.

How it is scored

Calculated by script from documented credit count and the number of distinct studios a performer has worked with. Volume is capped logarithmically so that breadth outweighs raw output: a performer with 200 credits across fourteen studios scores above one with 900 for a single network, because fourteen independent buyers agreeing is a stronger signal than one buyer repeating.

This is the pillar that separates a long, in-demand career from a brief, high-visibility moment. Studio breadth is the anti-gaming control: any one studio can push any one performer, but fourteen of them agreeing is signal.

Audience Demand
18%
Blind-scored panel

Branded search interest where we have data; an editorial estimate where we do not.

How it is scored

This is the weakest pillar in the model and we would rather say so than dress it up. Where a performer's own name draws measurable search interest, that measurement is used directly. At present that covers a minority of the performers we have scored. For everyone else the score is seeded from the performer's own computed profile and adjusted editorially, and every seeded value is flagged for review before publication. Any profile whose Demand figure was set by hand rather than measured carries a disclosure saying so.

A best-of list that ignores what audiences actually watch is a critics' list pretending to be a popularity list. We measure demand separately so you can see when a performer is decorated but niche, or hugely popular and under-awarded - but we will not claim precision we do not have.

Craft & Screen Presence
14%
Blind-scored panel

Performance quality, range and screen presence. An editorial judgement.

How it is scored

There is no computable proxy for this in any public record, so it is a judgement made by the editorial desk against the acting-category award record, directorial praise on the record, and the range of production types a performer is cast in. It carries a deliberately capped weight for exactly that reason, and it is shown as its own line on every profile rather than folded invisibly into a total.

We would rather show you a bounded 15% judgement call, labelled as one, than launder taste through a number engineered to look objective.

Longevity & Consistency
12%
Computed from records

Years active, output consistency and successful career restarts.

How it is scored

Calculated by script from documented debut year to the most recent verified release, adjusted for gaps. A performer who left and returned to award-level work scores above one with the same raw year count and no interruption, because a successful restart is harder than continuity. Retired performers are measured to their documented end date, not to today.

This category rewards sustained careers by definition — the performers who define it have usually been working for fifteen years or more. Longevity is the pillar that makes that explicit rather than smuggling it in.

Influence & Crossover
18%
Blind-scored panel

Mainstream reach, business ownership, directing and advocacy.

How it is scored

Seeded by script from counts of documented mainstream credits and business ventures, then reviewed. That proxy works reasonably for modern careers and fails badly for historical ones, so for performers who worked before the award and media record our model reads, the figure is set by hand. Every such case is disclosed on the profile.

Some performers changed what the job is, not just how well it is done. Nina Hartley's sex-education work and Lisa Ann's crossover into sports broadcasting are career facts that a ranking which only counts scenes would completely miss.

The six-step process

1

Define the field

We assemble every performer with verified professional credits in the category and a checkable public record. Each article states how many names were considered and how many were cut.

2

Pull the records

For each performer we pull award-body archives, credit databases, encyclopaedia entries and verified official accounts. Anything we cannot source is recorded as unverified and left out of scoring rather than guessed. Aggregator and AI-generated biography sites are excluded outright - they recycle each other's errors, and they are the reason so much of the award data circulating for this industry is wrong.

3

Compute the record-derived pillars

Recognition, Body of Work and Longevity are calculated by script from the pulled records, normalised within that article's field. No human sets these numbers.

4

Set the judgement pillars

Craft is an editorial score. Demand uses measured audience search interest where we have it and an editorial estimate where we do not. Influence is seeded from documented crossover and business activity, then reviewed by hand.

5

Weight, rank, and sanity-check

Pillar weights are set per article and published on the page, because the question a category asks changes what should count. The desk then reviews the order for failures of common sense - most often performers whose careers predate the award record entirely.

6

Disclose every intervention

Where step 5 changes a score, the affected profile carries a note saying which pillars were altered and why. Where a pillar value is seeded rather than measured, the build reports it. We publish the corrections log rather than editing silently.

✕ Who we exclude, and why

  • Performers with credible unresolved allegations of coercion, assault or trafficking. A ranking is an endorsement of a professional record, and we will not extend one where consent is in question.
  • Anyone whose age at the time of any listed credit cannot be independently verified as 18 or over.
  • Performers who have publicly asked to be left off editorial rankings. Removal requests are honoured without argument and without requiring a reason.
  • Content, imagery or links sourced from leaks, hacks or non-consensual distribution — regardless of how widely circulated it is elsewhere.

△ Where this model is weak

  • Demand is our weakest inputWe have measured audience search interest for only a minority of the performers scored so far. The rest carry editorial estimates. This is the pillar most likely to move as our measurement of audience demand widens.
  • Award archives favour recent, American productionAVN, XBIZ and XRCO are US bodies founded in the 1980s and 1990s. Performers who worked earlier, or outside the United States, are structurally disadvantaged by the Recognition pillar. We correct for it by hand and disclose each correction, which is a fix but not a solution.
  • Craft is a judgement, and judgements varyOne informed desk scoring against the acting-award record is better than asserting an order with no reasoning, but it is still a view. It is capped at 15% and shown separately for that reason.
  • Pre-2000 credit counts are unreliableOlder releases are documented far less consistently than modern ones, which understates the output of long careers. The Longevity pillar partly offsets this; it does not fully correct it.
  • Normalisation means scores are not cross-comparableAn 88 on our Japanese ranking and an 88 on our MILF ranking are not the same achievement. Each score positions a performer within her own field, and comparing across articles is not a use these numbers support.

Corrections and update log

Factual corrections are made within 48 hours of verification and logged, dated and described at the foot of the article. Changes to the scoring model itself are logged the same way - when we found that Lifetime Achievement honours were being scored as Performer of the Year wins, we published the fix and the resulting rank changes rather than quietly re-running the build. Cadence: Full re-audit every six months; award pillars updated within 14 days of each major awards ceremony. Next full audit: 2027-02-20.

What changed in this edition

  • First edition. Nine performers scored on the Pornstar Ranked Performer Index v2.1, re-weighted for a field where six of nine hold no verified award.
  • Two performers checked and corrected by name: May Thai is Italian, born in Trieste; Lily Thai is Filipino-Italian, born Mariza Haley in Honolulu. "Thai" is a stage surname only in both cases, documented directly from their own Wikipedia biographies.
  • Two award claims that circulate widely for this field — a 2010 AVN nomination for Mya Luanna, a 2005 AVN nomination for Lucy Thai — checked directly against the relevant AVN Awards ceremony pages on Wikipedia. Neither appears there, so neither is scored.
  • A Wikidata spam-cluster finding disclosed in the industry section: several entries combining citizenship Thailand with a pornographic-actor occupation carry zero references and no Wikipedia sitelink in any language, four of them in one contiguous Q-id range. None is named.
  • Recognition cut to 16% and Body of Work and Influence raised to 22% and 18% — the field has one confirmed AVN win and otherwise almost no award record to measure against.

Two performers checked and corrected by name for nationality: May Thai (Italian, born Trieste) and Lily Thai (Filipino-Italian, born Mariza Haley in Honolulu). Both documented directly from their own Wikipedia/Wikidata biographies rather than inferred. No photographs published in that section.

Two widely repeated award claims checked directly against the relevant AVN Awards ceremony pages on Wikipedia and not found: a 2010 nomination attached to Mya Luanna (checked against the 27th AVN Awards) and a 2005 nomination attached to Lucy Thai (checked against the 22nd, 23rd and 25th AVN Awards). Neither is scored as verified.

sourcing

Wikidata carries a cluster of entries combining occupation "pornographic actor" with citizenship Thailand that have zero references and no Wikipedia sitelink in any language, four in one contiguous Q-id range. Treated as unreliable data; none used, and no individual in this cluster is named on this page.

exclusion

Kat Young and Priva Rey researched and excluded: both carry a documented Thai birthplace on Wikidata but neither has a Wikipedia article in any language, and neither has enough independently sourced biographical detail to write an honest entry from.

note

Kobe Tai considered and left out: her English Wikipedia biography documents her nationality only as American with no stated ethnicity or heritage, so there is no sourced basis to include her here. She remains ranked on our petite-performer and Hollywood-crossover pages on her own documented record.

The "Thai-born" definition said four of the nine ranked performers were born inside Thailand. The correct figure is six — Keni Styles, Kesarin Chaichalermpol, Mya Luanna, Abbie Lee, Annie Lee and Jureka del Mar all carry a documented Thailand birthplace in their own performer records, and this page's own sub-list already grouped six. Only the definition paragraph was wrong, and it is now consistent with the records and with the rest of the page. Found while cross-checking this page's own performer records rather than copying the prose figure across.

correction

Section 287 maximum fine corrected from six thousand baht to sixty thousand baht in both places it appears. Penal Code fine amounts were multiplied by ten by the Act Amending the Penal Code (No. 26) B.E. 2560, in force 2017; the earlier figure was the pre-2017 text, which is still the one most English-language summaries of Thai obscenity law reproduce. The prison term — up to three years — is unchanged, and nothing about Kesarin Chaichalermpol's prosecution or its reported sentence is affected, as that case predates the amendment. Found while researching our Thailand porn laws page, which sets out the provision in full.

note

A same-day second pass checked whether this page's roster could responsibly grow. Wikipedia's "Category:Thai pornographic film actresses" contains only Kesarin Chaichalermpol, already ranked; no further pornographic actress of Thai descent is documented beyond Tera Patrick, already ranked. The roster stays at nine — a confirmed, not merely assumed, ceiling.
