Marlene Willoughby
Career
Before hardcore film, Willoughby was a New York stage actress, playing both a nun and Fidel Castro in Che! (1969) and appearing in the Obie Award-winning production Dracula Sabbat (1970). She began hardcore work in 1975 and appeared in The Opening of Misty Beethoven (1976) among other titles of the era, while also working as a Penthouse model and a columnist for High Society and Velvet. She continued taking small mainstream roles into the late 1980s, including in Trading Places (1983) and Married to the Mob (1988), and was an outspoken industry advocate, organising film-release events and touring as a burlesque performer.
Signature: A stage-trained performer who moved through hardcore film and back into small mainstream studio credits on either side of it, rather than a one-way crossover.
