Carol Connors
Career
Connors appeared in Deep Throat (1972), the single most commercially significant film of the entire Golden Age, and worked through the 1970s into the early 1980s in titles including Candy Goes to Hollywood (1979). She also crossed into mainstream network television, appearing as a contestant and later a recurring guest on NBC’s The Gong Show in the late 1970s. She is married to fellow performer Jack Birch and is the mother of mainstream actress Thora Birch, known for American Beauty (1999) and Ghost World (2001) — a family mainstream connection with no equivalent elsewhere on this list. Her own Wikipedia page distinguishes her explicitly from the unrelated mainstream songwriter of the same name.
Signature: A cast member of Deep Throat itself, with a mainstream network television credit of her own and a direct family line to an Academy Award-nominated actress.
