Career
Born Harvey Cohen, Savage trained under Uta Hagen and Stella Adler before entering adult film in 1976. He helped organise sex workers in San Francisco for wage advocacy in the mid-1980s, worked in theatre later in life — including The Prisoner of Second Avenue (2006) and The Deep Throat Sex Scandal (2013) — and practised Buddhism. He died in Los Angeles in October 2023, aged 70, after a forty-seven-year on-and-off career spanning the film, video and digital eras.
Signature: A forty-seven-year on-and-off career that started on film and ended in the digital era, with formal acting training most of his peers never had.
