Henry Saari
Career
Henry Saari won the Mr. Finland pageant in 1993 and placed third at Mr. Europe the same year, before directing and starring in five self-produced Henry the Great films between 1998 and 2001, and continuing to perform until 2003. He retired that year after being awarded a disability pension for a knee injury sustained thirty years earlier playing football during his military service. He also took supporting mainstream film roles, including History Is Made at Night (1999), Young Gods (2003) and Bunny the Killer Thing (2015), and is known in some Spanish-speaking markets by the nickname "El Cinturonero de Finlandia."
Signature: A verified national pageant title and a self-directed five-film series — a rare performer-director combination for a Finnish-born name, and a career ended by a decades-old sporting injury rather than industry attrition.
