Career

Born Corinne Picolo in Paris, Cléry was 25 when she took the title role in The Story of O (1975), an adaptation of the 1954 novel and one of the most widely distributed European softcore features of the decade. Four years later, at 29, she played Corinne Dufour, Hugo Drax’s assistant, in the James Bond film Moonraker (1979) — a major studio mainstream credit that few performers from the European softcore cycle ever secured. She has continued acting in French and Italian cinema and television into the 2020s.

Signature: The clearest single case in this field of a softcore lead role converting directly into a mainstream studio franchise credit, inside the same decade.
