Shannon Tweed

Career

Tweed was Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for November 1981 and Playmate of the Year for 1982, and used the exposure to build one of the steadiest careers in the direct-to-video erotic thriller cycle that Axis Films International and similar budget producers ran through the 1990s, headlining sequels in the Night Eyes and Indecent Behavior series among dozens of similar titles. Away from that cycle she held a 21-episode recurring role as Diana Hunter on the prime-time soap Falcon Crest (1982–1983), and has more recently appeared as herself in the reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels (2006–2012), documenting her three-decade relationship with the Kiss bassist.

Signature: No performer appears more often across the Axis Films/Blockbuster-era erotic-thriller cycle than Tweed — she is the closest thing the format has to a defining star.
