Erena So
Career
Born So Hoi-lam in Hong Kong, she debuted in entertainment in 2016 under Big Honor Entertainment before moving into modelling and self-published paid photo sets. She spent roughly a year approaching Japanese adult-video production companies before securing a contract, debuting for FALENO Star in March 2023 as the agency’s first non-Japanese performer and the first Hong Kong-born actress to work in Japan’s AV industry. She has been open in Hong Kong press about entering the industry deliberately and has said she wants to change local attitudes toward sex work and self-published adult content. In June 2026 she was arrested by Hong Kong police on suspicion of promoting or facilitating unlicensed bookmaking, after acting as an ambassador for a Malaysia-registered betting site; she was released on bail and the promotional material was withdrawn. No conviction has been reported.
Signature: She built a genuinely cross-border career at a moment when almost nobody moves from Hong Kong into the Japanese AV industry in either direction, and did it by cold-contacting studios for a year rather than through an existing industry connection.
