Annabel Chong
Career
Born Grace Quek to a middle-class Protestant Chinese Singaporean family, she studied at Raffles Girls’ School and Hwa Chong Junior College before a scholarship to study law at King’s College London, which she left. She enrolled at the University of Southern California and entered adult film in 1994, becoming widely known in January 1995 for a single filmed encounter promoted as the "World’s Biggest Gang Bang". The 1999 documentary Sex: The Annabel Chong Story followed her on her own terms, including the personal cost of the attention. She retired from the industry in 2003, took an associate degree in software engineering in 2001, and has worked in web development since. As of 2025 she has said she plans to return to Singapore to care for her mother.
Signature: She is the reason a "biggest ever" stunt film is still discussed as a documented cultural moment rather than a forgotten one-off, largely because she gave interviews about it for decades rather than disappearing after it.
