Tommy Gunn
Career
Born Thomas Joseph Strada, he worked ten years as a dancer before entering adult film in 2004 and became one of the most decorated male performers of his generation: AVN Best New Male Performer in 2005, AVN and XRCO Male Performer of the Year in 2007, XBIZ Male Performer of the Year in 2011, and induction into both the NightMoves and AVN Halls of Fame, in 2009 and 2016 respectively. His maternal grandfather was Chinese and his father is of Italian descent — a fact he has disclosed himself, on his own Twitter account and in a 2015 Playboy TV appearance, rather than something reported by a press profile. He has made mainstream appearances including an episode of HBO’s Entourage (2010), Louis Theroux’s documentary Twilight of the Porn Stars (2012), and the horror film Wolves (2014).
Signature: The single most heavily awarded performer on this page by a wide margin — two Performer of the Year titles from two different bodies in the same year, plus a second Hall of Fame induction nine years later — carrying a qualifying claim for this list that rests on his own word rather than a biographer’s.
