Disco Shanti
Career
Born Santha Kumari in Madras, the daughter of actor C. L. Anandan, she worked as an item-number dancer across six South Indian and Hindi-language film industries from 1983, with a filmography Wikipedia lists at more than 900 titles by 1997. She married the Telugu actor Srihari in 1996 and largely withdrew from film work afterward, with a single producer credit in 2004. Their daughter Akshara died in infancy, and the family founded the Akshara Foundation in her memory and adopted four villages in Medchal district. Srihari died in 2013.
Signature: Her documented credit volume is the largest of any performer in this group by a wide margin, spanning the same six-language range that made Silk Smitha’s career possible a few years earlier.
