Career
Abhilasha entered films as a teenager with the 1987 Malayalam softcore release Jungle Boy. Her breakthrough came with Adipapam (1988), regarded as the first commercially successful Malayalam film to feature softcore nudity and generally credited with starting the genre proper; it grossed around ₹25 million against a budget of roughly ₹750,000. She appeared in about forty Malayalam softcore films during a short and intense career, alongside some eighty films in other South Indian languages and Hindi, and is described as one of the genre’s forerunners.
