Shine Louise Houston
Career
A San Francisco Art Institute film graduate, Houston worked five years at the Good Vibrations sex shop before founding Pink and White Productions and launching CrashPadSeries.com in 2008, built around queer pornography with a deliberately wide range of body types, ethnicities and gender identities largely absent from mainstream production. She has performed in her own work, including as the ghost of Rick James in SuperFreak. She also founded PinkLabel.tv, a distribution platform for independent adult filmmakers outside the major studio system entirely.
Signature: Built an entire alternative production and distribution pipeline in San Francisco rather than Los Angeles — a studio, then a platform for other independent studios, with no Valley involvement at any point.
