翔田千里於2005年、35歲時才以熟女AV女優身分出道，出道前從18歲起長年任職於企業人事管理職。2006年獲得第一屆「熟女クイーンコンテスト」（熟女皇后大賽）總冠軍，2007年3月獲日本アダルト放送大賞「熟女女優賞」。她曾多次因過勞、子宮腺肌症等健康問題暫停活動——2007年底至2008年5月、2010年3月至2011年8月、2015年至2017年——又多次復出，2024年6月曾宣布將於2025年夏天引退，2025年3月撤回決定，改稱「終生現役」。2025年8月仍在出道20週年活動上公開露面。
