Şahin K

Career

Born Şaban Acar in Ortaköy, Aksaray Province, Acar worked as an automotive mechanic before relocating to Stuttgart, Germany, around 1990 after marrying a German-Turkish woman. Working an evening job in customer service for a pornographic film company, he decided to produce his own film and released his directorial debut, Çılgın Sekreter Jale, in 1999 under the stage name Şahin K, going on to produce more than ninety films — most distributed in Germany through a partnership with the production company Trimax — before publicly retiring from adult film in 2006 or 2007 to pursue mainstream acting and production, including a lead role in the 2011 theatrical release Günah Keçisi. In 2002 he was arrested in Seferihisar, İzmir, for unauthorised production and distribution of pornographic material in Turkey, and later released on bail — a direct, documented instance of the law this article’s industry section describes.

Signature: Turkey’s most visible name in the genre by a distance, and the only individual entry in Turkish Wikipedia’s own category for Turkish male pornographic film actors — plus a 2002 arrest that is itself primary evidence of how Turkish law treats this work.

Not yet confirmed:

• No English-language Wikipedia article
• Birthdate — sources give a year only (1968) with three conflicting exact dates flagged as deprecated on Wikidata itself
• Birthplace — Wikidata separately claims Istanbul and Antalya; this record follows the birthplace stated consistently by both the German and Turkish Wikipedia articles (Ortaköy, Aksaray) instead
• A 2002 "Berlin Erotic Film Festival" Best Director and Best Film credit for Hizmetçi Kız, claimed identically by German and Turkish Wikipedia, could not be confirmed against the Venus Award’s own published 2002 winners list (the Berlin erotic-industry event those claims most plausibly refer to) — not counted as a win
