Max Hardcore
Career
Paul F. Little worked as Max Hardcore from the early 1990s, producing, directing and appearing in his own releases through Max World Entertainment. In May 2007 he and the company were indicted in the Middle District of Florida on five counts of transporting obscene matter by interactive computer service and five counts of mailing obscene matter. A federal jury convicted him on all ten counts in June 2008. On 3 October 2008 US District Judge Susan Bucklew sentenced him to 46 months in prison, three years of supervised release and a $7,500 fine, and ordered forfeiture of the films, the profits and the domain names; Max World Entertainment was fined $75,000 and placed on five years of probation. He began the sentence in January 2009 and was released in 2011, having served roughly two and a half years. He died in Los Angeles in March 2023.
Signature: Convicted at trial rather than by plea, in a period when comparable federal obscenity cases mostly ended in a plea, a hung jury or a dismissal.
