Career
Herbert Streicher rose to notoriety with Deep Throat, one of the highest-grossing adult films of its era, followed by The Devil in Miss Jones. In 1974 he became the first American performer federally prosecuted for obscenity solely for appearing on screen; his 1976 conviction was overturned on appeal and charges dropped in 1977, drawing support from mainstream legal figures including Alan Dershowitz. He left the industry in the mid-1980s and later worked as a licensed real-estate agent in Utah.
