Marilyn Jess
Career
Discovered through glamour photography, Marilyn Jess entered adult film in 1977 and, following her breakthrough in Claude Mulot's La Femme objet (1980), was widely described in the French press as the successor to Brigitte Lahaie, remaining one of French hardcore cinema's best-known names through the mid-1980s. She worked repeatedly with director Gérard Kikoïne and with American producers Fred J. Lincoln and Patti Rhodes. She largely stepped back from film work around 1987, citing concerns about HIV/AIDS after working alongside Traci Lords, and continued performing in Rue Saint-Denis peep shows into the early 1990s before leaving adult entertainment for artistic photography and gallery work. She has since taken part in retrospective projects about her own filmography, including public appearances tied to the 2022 book Marilyn Jess: les films de culte. No Hot d'Or or comparable industry award is documented for her; her main active period (1977–1987) in fact predates the Hot d'Or's founding in 1990–91.
Signature: The face of French hardcore's second wave after Brigitte Lahaie, with an 83-film run through the 1980s and no comparable successor award to show for it — the Hot d'Or didn't exist yet.

- Birth name is given as 'Dominique Troyes' across French-language secondary sources but this was not confirmed against a primary or legal record.
- No award of any kind could be verified for her despite her prominence; some fan listings imply Hot d'Or recognition for 1980s-era French stars generally, but the award did not exist during her active career (1977–1987), so any such claim about her specifically would be false.
