Marina Hedman
Career
Born Marina Hedman Bellis in Gothenburg, Sweden, she worked as a flight attendant before moving into modelling in the early 1970s and then into cinema, first in minor roles and softcore work, then in her first explicit scene in Emanuelle in America (1976). Her 1979 film Immagini di un convento is described as the first explicit scene made specifically for the Italian domestic market, and it became a substantial commercial success, helped by press scandal connected to her then-husband, the prominent Italian television journalist Paolo Frajese; following legal action from him she worked under pseudonyms including Marina Lotar, Marina Frajese, Marina Lothar and Marina Chantal. Outside adult film she took mainstream roles in Dino Risi's Primo amore (1978), Federico Fellini's La città delle donne (1980), Fantozzi subisce ancora (1983), and entries in the Nico Giraldi comedy series through the mid-1980s. She retired from the industry in 1991.
