Jasmine Arabia
Career
Born Ichraq in Marrakech in 1990, she moved to Nice and worked from age nineteen as an Oriental dancer, go-go dancer and stripper before entering pornographic film in November 2010, taking a stage name intended to signal both an American-singer reference and her Maghrebi heritage. Over roughly four years she appeared in 44 films for French producers including JTC Vidéo, working with performers and directors such as John B. Root, Mike Angelo and Ian Scott. She had a mainstream-adjacent moment appearing in a French AIDS-prevention public-awareness campaign alongside television host Marc-Olivier Fogiel and fellow performers Anna Polina and Virginie Caprice, and did volunteer work for the charity Les Restos du Cœur. In November 2016 she was sentenced to six years in prison on charges including rape, sexual assault and corruption of minors, a sentence reduced to four years on appeal in February 2018; this is reported by French Wikipedia as a criminal matter separate from her adult-film work.
Signature: The only performer on this list whose adult-industry career is bookended, in her own Wikipedia entry, by a criminal conviction rather than by an award or a retirement announcement.
