Vanessa Blue
Career
Blue began performing in the late 1990s, took a multi-year break, and returned around 2000, working steadily toward a career centred on directing. She co-founded Mercenary Pictures with then-fiancé Lexington Steele; the two later settled a legal dispute in 2009 after she left the company in 2006. Her Black Reign series won the AVN Award for Best Ethnic-Themed Series at the 23rd AVN Awards in 2006. She signed with Justin Slayer International in 2010, worked as a contract director for DVSX and Adam & Eve, and hosted on Playboy Radio and Playboy TV through 2008. The AVN Hall of Fame inducted her in 2013.
Signature: One of very few performers on this list whose Hall of Fame induction rests on a director’s résumé as much as a performer’s.
