Angel Kelly
Career
Kelly began at nineteen in a peep-show booth, moved through topless dancing and magazine modelling for titles including Cheri and Players, and debuted on film in 1985. Her Wikipedia article describes her as "the first African-American female to receive a contract in the adult film industry," with Fantasy Home Video, and among "the first African-American women to 'cross over' into mainstream porn." She produced more than 100 films between 1985 and 1991, 53 of them in 1987 alone, before stepping back from performing. She appeared alongside Heather Hunter and Nina Hartley in Tupac Shakur’s 1996 video for "How Do U Want It." The AVN Hall of Fame inducted her in 2008, the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2009.
