Reya Sunshine
Career
A University of California, Santa Cruz psychology graduate (magna cum laude, specialising in humanistic psychology), Reya Sunshine worked as an exotic dancer for three and a half years before beginning webcam modelling on MyFreeCams on 1 January 2016. She won XBIZ Clip Artist of the Year in 2021, backed by a ManyVids Vid of the Year win the same year and three further Clip Artist nominations either side of it, and co-hosted the 40th AVN Awards in January 2023. Her 2018 YouTube video "Are You Cut Out for Camming?" was later used as one of ten primary sources in a December 2022 peer-reviewed study, "Live Play, Live Sex", published in the journal Sexualities, comparing the labour of video-game livestreaming to webcam modelling.
Signature: The rare performer whose own account of camming as work became source material for peer-reviewed academic research into what the job actually involves.
