Karl Ben
Career
Born Károly Újfalusi in Târgu Mureș, in Romania's ethnic-Hungarian Transylvania region, he later relocated to Hungary with his family. He performed in adult film between 1998 and 2007, appearing in roughly 198 productions for companies including Private Media Group, Evil Angel, Wicked Pictures and Vivid Entertainment and working with directors such as Rocco Siffredi, and was nominated for a Hot d'Or (Best European Debut, 2000) and twice for an AVN Award for Best Sex Scene in Foreign Production (2001 and 2003). After retiring he adopted the professional name "Kay Roy" and, in 2001, co-founded Vayaro, a luxury leather-accessory brand combining leather with semi-precious stones, which opened boutiques in Las Vegas, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica and attracted clients including Dennis Quaid, Lenny Kravitz and Will Smith. He later moved into graphic design and photography before returning to Budapest in 2016.
Signature: The clearest career-pivot story among this list's Romanian names — a decade as a European adult-film lead followed by a second identity as "Kay Roy," founder of a celebrity-patronised luxury leather brand with physical boutiques in three US cities.
