Alina Plugaru

Career

Plugaru moved to Bucharest as a teenager to pursue modelling, worked as an exotic dancer from around age 16, and entered adult film in 2006 just after turning 18, working with performer-director Zenza Raggi. She was voted Best Romanian Porn Actress at the Romanian Erotic Industry Awards in both 2008 and 2009 before retiring from performing in September 2009. In 2011 she founded her own touring erotic revue, "Erotic Dreams Show by Alina Plugaru," which won a Best Show Award at that year's Romanian Erotic Industry Awards, and she has run an erotic-massage business in Bucharest. She has also worked as a mainstream television and film actress in Romania, including small roles in the soap opera Secretul Mariei (2005) and the film Making Of (2007).

Signature: The most nationally recognisable name in Romanian adult film — a homegrown "Queen of Porn" whose post-retirement business (a touring erotic show, an erotic-massage venture) and a stint on Romania's version of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! gave her a mainstream profile most performers on this list never get in their home country.
