He became the genre’s most recognisable male lead through the Sex and Zen series and Viva Erotica (1996), for which he received a Hong Kong Film Awards nomination, and built a long parallel career as a villain actor in mainstream martial-arts film and television. He remains active in Hong Kong and mainland Chinese productions.
Signature: The genre’s counterpart to Amy Yip on the male side: a Category III lead whose career never stopped, running continuously into mainstream mainland and Hong Kong production.
