Career

Sakura debuted with SOD Create in 2012 and has remained exclusive to the label since — an unusually long single-label tenure in an industry where exclusives typically run one to two years. She took the SOD Award for Best Actress in her debut year, the Sky PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Award for Best New Actress in 2013 and the Best Actress award in 2015. She placed second in FANZA's 2018 performer popularity vote across both male and female voters. In parallel she has built a literary career: her debut novel Saitei (最低。, 2016) was adapted as a feature film that premiered at the 2017 Tokyo International Film Festival, followed by Ōtotsu (2017), Hataraku Oppai (2019), Haru, Shinan (2020) and Gokko (2023), alongside essay collections and regular columns.
