Maria Kekkonen
Career
Also credited as Mariah and Mariah Sensuel, Maria Kekkonen worked briefly as a stripper before beginning her performing career in 1996 and building a filmography of more than fifty titles across several Finnish and international production outfits through 2004. She also worked as a reporter for a Finnish television adaptation of the Naked News format. In November 2007 she co-founded Rock the Pole, Helsinki’s first pole-dancing studio, with partner Olha Venäläinen, explicitly building the studio’s pitch around the sport’s "athletic and gymnastic" side rather than its erotic one, and later worked as pole-dance instructor for the 2007 modern-dance production Freak-a-Zo!
Signature: The largest documented filmography of any Finnish-born performer on this list, followed by a genuine and lasting second career founding Helsinki’s first pole-dancing studio.
