Carlo Masi
Career
Born Ruggero Freddi in Rome, Masi performed gay pornographic films under exclusive contract to COLT Studio Group from his 2004 debut in Big 'N Plenty until 2009. In 2008 he was named the label's first and only "Colt Man Emeritus," with his contract extended to a lifetime arrangement. He won the HeatGay Award for Best Actor in 2006 and drew GayVN Award nominations in 2005 and 2008 and an XBIZ Award nomination in 2008. Alongside his adult-film career, Masi pursued mathematics academically, earning a cum laude bachelor's and master's degree in mathematics and a 2020 PhD in mathematical models for engineering, electromagnetism and nanoscience, with published research applying Morse theory to Dirichlet and Poisson problems. He lectured in Analysis at Sapienza University of Rome before being dismissed in 2020; he won an unfair-dismissal lawsuit against the university in 2023.
Signature: The only performer in COLT Studio Group's history granted lifetime "Colt Man Emeritus" status, and a working mathematics lecturer with peer-reviewed publications alongside his adult-film career.
