Taylor Wane
Career
Wane began performing in 1989 after moving from Gateshead to the United States, and was named a Penthouse Pet of the Month in June 1994. AVN inducted her into its Hall of Fame in 2005 and XRCO followed in 2014, alongside an earlier Legends of Erotica induction in 2007. What distinguishes her record from most performers with a comparable Penthouse credit is what she did with her own image afterward: she and her husband own and operate Laurien Photographic, an independent photo agency that licenses pictures of Wane and other performers directly to stock agencies and magazines including Hustler, Gallery and Jugs, rather than leaving that licensing to a studio or a magazine publisher. She has also taken small mainstream film roles, including Little Nicky (2000), Frost/Nixon (2008) and State of Play (2009).
Signature: Instead of depending on a studio or a magazine to control her own image after the fact, she built the licensing agency herself — one of the clearest examples in this field of a performer owning her own photographic output rather than a publisher owning it for her.
