James Bartholet

Career

Bartholet came to Hollywood in the early 1980s and built one of the longest-running character-actor careers in the parody subgenre specifically, appearing across titles from Barbarella XXX to The Wizard of Oz XXX to Men In Black: A Hardcore Parody over three decades. His AVN Best Non-Sex Performance win in 2011, for Not Charlie’s Angels XXX, recognises comedic and dramatic acting rather than scene work — a rarer category than most of the awards elsewhere on this list — and he won a further XBIZ award in 2014 for Not the Wizard of Oz XXX.

Signature: A three-decade parody-specific character-actor run, anchored by a competitive acting award rather than a scene-based one — the AVN category built for exactly this kind of work.
