Cruise made her debut in August 2013, at twenty-two, and the 2015 season went to her almost completely: Best New Starlet at AVN, XBIZ and XRCO, plus AVN Best Actress in the same year — a combination almost nobody wins together, because the two awards reward opposite things. Wikipedia counts eleven wins against thirty nominations. She began DJing in 2017, released the single Everybody Nose Me that year and the EP Send Music in August 2018, and has described the industry in those terms directly: it gave her the capital and the contacts to do something else.
